Yes, I know the Valet program won't work for us. Someone posted a May 2019 disembarkation guide and it says walk-offs started at 7:20 that year and those with Valet and flights around 11 disembarked at 7:30. This is why I started this post. I am hoping someone will let me know what the first walk-off is this year.
We will talk to the front desk after we board about taking a taxi because the way I read their guarantee (EZ Air has it posted online) if the ship or transfer causes us to miss our flight, they will get us home, so a taxi may void that. (I know everyone thinks it only works for arrivals, but it specifically says "get home" in the guarantee which I am attaching.)
I'm sorry to hear that we have to go from the parking garage across the sky bridge; I was hoping that was just for arrivals. I also hope we make our flight and don't have to wait hours and hours at the airport for another.
I'm from Seattle. It gets quite crowded with personal cars dropping off and picking up so taxis, buses, etc. are in the parking garage. There are simply not enough lanes for vehicles to be stopped for long. Enjoy your cruise!

Similar question but on the other end. Never flown to Seattle so not familiar with the airport amenities. We are on the red eye after our cruise and know we can check out bags on the ship but wondering about how to access the lounges at the airport to relax when we get there. What I’m seeing online, most are closed or close early.
there's actually an app to help with while you're at the airport https://www.portseattle.org/page/sea-tac-app

My husband has an older cell phone and he doesn't bother to upgrade just for the Medallion app. Can husband and wife share one Medallion app on a cell phone with different login of course? In fact, I can see my husband when I log into mine. I believe it is expected, though being in the same booking, but Princess support said it is mandatory he must use a different device with his own medallion app. So ridiculous.
I've seen references to the fact that an Iphone needs to be an 8 or more recent. What about Android? DH's phone is a Samsung S8, works just fine. Does he need a newer phone? Now Samsung is up to 21!

Posting this on the Princess board (https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/119-princess-cruises/)
will get you Princess-specific responses This board is for information (transportation, dining, lodging, etc,) for Florida ports.
As a Princess cruiser I can tell you, from first hand knowledge when we had a two cruises canceled last summer, that if the cruise is canceled you will get a full refund for all booked excursions. If an excursion is important to you, I would recommend booking it now and keeping your fingers crossed that the cruise sails. We have already done so for some excursions on a March 2022 cruise but that is a much longer way off.
Thanks, I posted on this site because of the current issue of sailing out of Florida. We usually have booked our own excursions through groups found on CC, but realize we need to book ship tours at this time. I'd be frustrated to go on a 10 day cruise and not be able to do any excursions!

We're booked on Crown Princess sailing 11/16. As of this date, it will be the 2nd cruise for this ship. I'm hoping it will happen, but not confident due to disagreements regarding asking for vaccine status. I'd like to book excursions to get what we want before they fill up. Am curious as to what others are thinking.

any thoughts on current status of sailings? We are booked on 11/16 Crown Princess from FL.

It will from everything I've read. Sadly I will not be able to try it b/c I my travel friend is not willing to try this (she's never actually used Uber before, and despite my assurances on the simplicity won't budge), but would rather schedule a private car. I like using Uber, and have used it all over the world. It does save the hassle of having to have local currency, as well as being able to track your journey, and not being taken for a "scenic" route just to increase the fare.
We used Uber 4 or 5 times in Santiago, Chile in 12/2019. One older man took us on the scenic route. Uber credited us 75% of the cost later as he didn't take the most direct route. I asked about this to an Uber I just took in Wisconsin a week ago. He confirmed that the most direct route has to be taken, or close to it, or the driver will be penalized.

We're booked on a cruise from Sydney to Hawaii, stopping in New Zealand in April 2022. What are the chances of it happening?
Thanks
-
Thanks so much! You’ve saved us $$$!
-
ugh, so just to confirm, you've received this credit and not been required to have the original on your person at time of check in prior to boarding? I get frustrated with my current, soon to be former, travel agent giving me incorrect info!

I don't think DH's WA driver's license , Real ID, notates his veteran's status.
-
Has anyone asked for the military discount? We're scheduled for 3 10+ days cruises in Aqua Class and the discount would be $100 for each of us. DH is not interested in taking his original DD214 at the risk of losing it. Surely there's a way to access the credit without the original? Perhaps a copy from the Veteran's Association?
Thanks,

we're booked in 1635, aqua class, for a TransPacific, Sydney to Honolulu April 17, 2022.
I didn't see the spreadsheet for reviews of cabins until today and see that the one review is horrible, stating that the cabin shakes? S Class Cabins as of March 8, 2020 - Google Sheets
Has anyone else been in this cabin that can refute that information from 2018?
Thanks,

Thinking about booking 2 side-by-side cabins on Edge for our family (Us plus 2 teens) and trying to decide between connecting CC cabins in a less desirable location or non-connecting AQ or CC cabins in a more desirable location.
Do the connecting infinite verandah cabins just connect via a single doorway? I’m guessing since the balconies aren’t truly balconies, there’s no way to make one large balcony like you can do on some other ships,
How “worth it” Is Blu? I’ve never sailed AQ, but we are foodies and do like to eat low-carb and fairly clean at home, and we like good wine. I’m wondering if the food is that much better than the MDR, and if they’d be better able to handle our special dietary requests, since we’d be eating there nearly every night .
This is a strange one, but are there any non-hot areas in the thermal suite? I have MS and my neurologist advises me not to get in a hot tub, sauna or anything that is going to raise my core body temperature by much, lest I not be able to get out. I can do “therapy pools” that are slightly warmer than a regular swimming pool, but a hot tub is too hot. Since the thermal suite is adults-only, it may be a waste to pay for AQ if my husband is the only one of the four of us who will use it.
The price difference between CC and AQ is approximately $220 pp for the 7-night Cruise, give or take a little depending on which level CC we are talking about.
I don't know anything about the Edge, but we were on the Eclipse in AQ and loved Blu. We'd definitely do it again. It's definitely a low carb, small portions, restaurant though I never went away hungry. Unless you request otherwise, salads have sparse dressing IMHO. The service was incredible! Most tables are for 2, but if you go with others, they'll seat you next to each other. There are 5" or so between tables. The nice thing about tables for 2 is that there is no delay in ordering or receiving food and drink. DH likes his Carmenere, and we had a drink package, and the sommelier always had it ready for him. I like to try different wines, and he'd suggest wines for me. We found out on the 2nd to last day of a 16 day cruise that we could request salted butter for bread. It's just as well as we didn't need the bread or crackers. Instead there were purees of carrot, squash, beets. We never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a table, and there's no fixed time. We preferred the buffet for breakfast, more selection and faster. Blu doesn't do lunch. Even with a premium drink package I didn't gain weight on a 16 day cruise! There's such a small group of people that can go to Blu that we kept meeting some of the same people. It was awesome!

ok almost a year later. Does Solstice have the app yet?

So I kept hearing on these boards as I asked about a "back to back" we were thinking about next April from the Koningsdam 4 day San Diego to Vancouver then over to the Oosterdam overnight to Seattle, that we had better ask HAL if we could do that. I called this week to find out that yes....the "Jones Act" would prohibit such a plan. I guess if the Oosterdam left the next day with one night staying in Vancouver we could do it. I don't understand it but it would have taken care of our transportation back to Seattle where flights are cheaper and easier to get home and we could visit our kids. So now it's two nights at our timeshare in Vancouver with accompanying meals and entertainment added costs and flights out of Vancouver to LAX instead of direct into Long Beach or Orange County .....but, hey we're on vacation so we'll roll with it.......there are worse problems to have......:)
Are there other lines that do the one night? We took Eurodam Seattle to Vancouver then got on Princess and did west coast ending in LA

Have you tried "shrubs" , using drinking vinegar? 25 cal/8 gm carb per 8oz serving for this company. https://shrub-farm.com/faq dilute 1/2oz syrup to 8 oz sparkling. Even though we have the Premium beverage package on our cruise, I may bring a bottle of syrup on board to mix with Perrier. Since you're on the East Coast, this company may have it in stores near you. https://thehudsonstandard.com/

Passport starts at $60 per month. You get 1GB plan for $60. 3GB is $120. No mention of speeds. Their international day pass is $10 per day for unlimited talk and text, as well as however much data your domestic plan allows you. If you have the unlimited data plan like I do, it’s unlimited data. The only mention of speeds is where they say you maybe throttled back to 128Kbps if you go over your monthly data allowance. Since I have unlimited data, I do not have to worry about that. The day pass appears to be the best option for me, because we only have 3 days at an international port. $30 at most for unlimited talk, text, and data. Less if I don’t need it one of those days. My data will be off until I need it. If I leave my phone on the ship and never turn in cellular data, I pay zero. No monthly charge either.
we don't use data much when not traveling, have only 6gb for 3 of us. We're on a 16 day cruise with 13 days (including post crusie) in international ports. I know I can find wi-fi onshore, but don't want to waste time with that. I may have to accept that I won't be able to load photos to the cloud.

T-Mobile's free international data is slow - throttled to 128 Kbps. I'm grandfathered into an old promotion that boosts the international speed to 256 Kbps and it's tolerable but for example I needed to download a 20 megabyte parking app in England over 256Kbps data and it took several minutes.
For "free" it's OK but if you're trying to upload 20 or 30 full-resolution photos you'll want to wait for WiFi.
You can upgrade to full speed for $5 per day or IIRC $50 for the rest of your billing month.
$50 for full speed is a bargain for international data. ATT cost is $120 for 6gb of data per month, international.

No, it has to be postpaid.
A prepaid plan doesn't have a credit rating behind it so they're unwilling to let a subscriber incur roaming charges.
At least that was the situation when I was inadvertently signed up for T-Mobile's "No credit check" One Plan (which despite the marketing was a $50/month prepaid plan). It had none of the I International calling benefits of the traditional postpaid plans.
hmm, something to think about. We're on Celebrity Eclipse and don't leave until November. I'll have to look into dropping ATT and get T-mobile instead. I'd really like to find unlimited international data. I don't need calling. One of our tour's contact number is on What's App, so I need data, not a phone necessarily.

Thanks, we got his phone 8/2017. I do see that it's Android 9, so hopefully should work. Our cruise isn't until November so we'll wait to enter our data to see how everyone else handles the updates. I've plenty of frustrations in life, getting an app to work for a cruise doesn't need to be one of them!
