  1. On our last trip to Bruges we booked a taxi in advance with others from our roll call. The advantage is that they can drop you in the centre of town and you can stay as long as you like.

  2. That makes it fairly clear that if you watch from the ship it will be via a broadcast rather than from your balcony. You'll certainly be able to see the crowds but there won't be much of a view of what's happening on the stage.

Well my first "official" disappointment.  Cunard Internet apparently bars access to all horse racing sites, including the Racing Post and Sporting Life.  As it's Oaks day and tomorrow's the Derby I'd hoped to access my account to follow along but it's not to be.

You're in port tomorrow, can't you follow on land somewhere?

I still think it could be The Queen, which would explain the secrecy.

Reception were going to speak to the Captains secretary for me to find out which side of the ship will be facing the quayside and get back to me, but never did. Why they have to keep basic info like that a secret is beyond me. The answer will help inform those with balconies whether to watch from the ship or the shore. We have been told absolutely nothing on board that we didn’t already know before we boarded - and it’s only 4 days away now.

Our previous calls to Liverpool on QM2 have been starboard side to the quay but I believe she is going to be out in the river so may turn round.

Looking at the Cruise Liverpool site it seems about 50/50 for other ships.

It's just been on the local BBC news about the visit to Liverpool on Monday.  It showed the pilot practicing on a simulator.

For the naming ceremony, the ship will be in the middle of the river in front of the Three Graces.

When do we find out who is doing the naming?

    On the day it seems!

Bell Boy, that is an improvement on the Sommeliers we have had in PG, but for a different reason.
The "free drink package" for the US Guests results in overly zealous Wine stewards  trying to earn their 15%, which is added to all of the orders on this package.
Leisurely drinks never happened. It is truly bizarre.

I don't understand this comment, 15% is added to non package drinks as well.

I wonder if you had to ask for it. There was no mention of it in the original email.

That was why I asked, I wondered if this line meant if you called and asked for a refund they would give one.

"Should you wish to discuss your booking, please call our Customer Contact Centre who would be happy to help."

I doubt that would be considered a significant enough change to warrant cancellation and refund. I have known of more significant changes that have not been refundable.

And to add salt into the wounds because the change was made pre departure then you cannot claim for missed ports on your travel insurance

A roll call poster has been offered a refund.

Seems to be the only positive review on there...

Folk here on the boards seem more positive though.

It's not QM2...doesn't mean you can't like both, and I'm still looking forward immensely to the end of June and Norway; 25 days according to MyCunard...

Hopefully most of the teething problems will have been sorted by then

The review section can be rather scary ...

He did do 2 performances. Perhaps the content differed. I have no intention of commenting further on this one small part of my review.
To be honest I’m more upset that I have paid for all my drinks twice and getting nowhere with my complaint to Cunard.

I'm not surprised, have you tried this email address

    executive.correspondence@carnivalukgroup.com ?

Perhaps the new drinks menu was created by the same individual who changed the G&T glass to a red wine balloon as I experienced on QV last year!

I was able to request the proper tall glass however and the staff in Commodore quickly remembered to serve mine accordingly.

I'm not sure where you are based but the Copa G&T glasses are widely used on this side of the Atlantic.

Equally, there are some not so very complimentary vlogs, threads etc out there, if we are only allowed to post favourable comments on this board then it becomes almost impossible to get a real overview.

There are plenty of negative comments on these boards but comments which do not comply with our guidelines will be removed.
