  1. I got 2 perks on the cruise I booked. I have the free drink package and the 300$ on-board credit. There's more advantage to take the OBC rather than the paid gratuities since 300$ is a lot more than what the gratuities cost. I end up having my gratuitites paid from the OBC and I still have about 140$ left on the OBC that can be used for onboard shopping or excursions...

  2. What is your experience with Celebrity Traditional vs Select dining?

I am booked for a cruise on the Eclipse (very far from now) for January 2017. We have selected the traditional dining simply because we got a 300$ onboard credit with the booking so the credit will be used to pay for the gratuities once onboard.

That's the reason why I didn't chose the select dinning (and pay for the gratuities right now).

Will I be able to move to select dining once onboard or at least get a table for two on the traditional dining?

  3. Does anyone have the latest up-to-date Ultimate Beverage package drink & wine list?

I'd like to see what's included. All drinks under 11$ should give a lot of possibilities. The package looks way better than what we had with Celebrity.

This is very nice, and we got this all free with the booking. Great!

  4. Thanks for these comments. Much appreciated! It will be our first time in Tortola...

We went to St-Thomas several times and loved Magen's Bay... We keep going there everytime, early in the morning before all fellow passenger arrives.

  5. Is Smuggler's cove still the place to go in Tortola?

We are a group of 4 couples on the Getaway going in October and this place seemed really nice. But I've read also that restaurants are now closed since 2012.

Also, if it's really the place to go, how long is the ride back & forth to the ship?

  6. I was on the same cruise... January 17th-24th.

This was our 5th cruise and the first with Celebrity. Did Carnival and NCL prior to this cruise. Honestly, I was not impressed at all with Celebrity. Thought it would be a luxury "pampered" cruise and it wasn't. Nothing was better than Carnival or NCL. I can even say that for most of the time, food was better on our past Carnival cruises.

Also I found the buffet didn't have much to offer compared to the other cruises I did. In the MDR the food was ranging from acceptable to good at best. On a formal night we had to return the lobster plates because it was undercooked (almost raw). I even got sick at night.

Don't ever do post-cruise shore excursion if your luggage have some importance to you. They drop the luggage at the airport on the side-walk unattended. After the tour I found that one of my luggage wasn't there and someone took it by mistake. Real nightmare to get it back and delivered to me back home.

That was the bad. Now the goods: the 1-2-3 go promotion with the free classic package. That was so nice to be able to drink freely without counting. I real had too much drinks on some days. For us the classic package has more than enough wine and drinks. No need to upgrade to premium. That was the highlight of our cruise.

The ports of call were fantastic as well. Had a great time on the Railway tour in St-Kitts (pictures taken are out of this world) and also the river tubing tour in Dominica was a lot of fun!

A great cruise even if there was some issues that irritated us...

  7. Thank you all.. That answers my question. I won't get an invitation for this since it will be my first Celebrity cruise.

I did the helipad already on the Carnival Dream anyway because I did the expensive behind the scene tour. It's worth doing once in a lifetime if you are ship enthusiasm like myself.
