We were on the Dream the week before, Feb 8 - Feb 15. Spa Balcony 12215. This was our Milestone Cruise # 25. We boarded right behind the wedding party. Went straight to our cabin, was cleaned and ready. Luggage arrived by 1PM. We had cruised the Dream before and have also been to the ports before so this was a SPA CRUISE. We went to the Spa everyday. The facilities were never crowded on sea days or port days. The Spa people knew us by name LOL. Food on the LIDO, MDR and SEA DAY BRUNCH was good to excellent. We found the ship to be not crowded. Going again May 3 2015

Never found any discounts when we were in a Cloud 9 on the Dream last year. If you are doing a couples massage try the bamboo massage. It gives new meaning to "deep tissue" and I can't wait until next month to get another.
They use a bamboo rolling pin. LOL and it is deep tissue

We have sailed 5 day, 7 day, 8 day, and 10 day cruises on small and large ships. If you can get the time off, I think the longer cruises are better. For one you must pack about the same for a 5 or 10 day. Just try not to drop food on your shirt or pants so you can wear them more than once or twice. I always take some items to change into after dinner. Longer cruises give you more time to enjoy the ships activities. Longer cruises have more sea days to just relax and enjoy the ship. We have enjoyed some of the smaller ships, the space to the number of guest makes the ship feel less crowded, but you may not have all the water slides and big screen and 2.0 improvement.

As I look up the ladder all I see are a lot of diamonds ahead of me, so there is always someone ahead of you. Just enjoy your place in the line.

As I stand on the VIP loyalty ladder with my drink coupon and bottle of water, I look down on you red, blue and gold cruisers and say, Someday you will be as high as me..........LOL:D

We were on the sunshine Feb 2014. It is not as big as the Dream or Breeze so the water park area is smaller. Carnival has tried to provide more places to eat and not just the Lido or MDR. Loved Ji Ji at night and the Wok at Lunch. Both are it the very back of the ship behind the Lido Deck Buffet. Great place to hang out, until the crowds find out. I think there are more positives than negatives. There are always more people on the Lido deck on sea days, you'll find that on all ships.

Over rated: All of theses, i have the right/best comments on things
under rated: Why you are on a cruise - have fun and don't take things so seriously - r-e-l-a-x . Everyone has their opinion of what they like and dislike,,,,,,,lol... I try everything at least once even escargo,,,, it was good

What about slot machines? Wave the wrist band to log in wave it to cash out LOL

We have had a Dream Spa Balcony and have another booked in Feb 2015. Best time go use the Spa area is on port days 10:00 to 1PM. On sea days you see a lot of people using the Spa area. One day pass guest. :D

I received a VIFP progam survey. One of my comments was to let VIFP choose from a list of VIFP gift list, OBC, drinks discount or maybe a special modified Cheers program, example: 3 to 5 drinks a day or maybe only one guest purchase of the cheers per cabin

We have done the tour on on the Dream and Freedom.... Great tour. Everyone should do it a least once. You will see the other side of what the crew and staff do
-
I agree with everyone as to where to view the river, but after dark setting on your aft balcony with a drink and the one you love, you will see all the oil rigs all lit up, like a city in the water....Do it one time.....I still remember our first time, Some thing to remember,,,,,,, that is what cruises are for,,,,,,LOL
-
We had an aft wrap on the Dream. Setting on the balcony and watching all the sights slip away, What a wonderful start to a perfect cruise. If you can swing an aft wrap it is something you will not forget. The people along the river are a great, they stand along the river banks and wave. Love Love the cruise down "old muddy". There is no port like New Orleans and your first 8 hours down the river ,,,,, Everyone has to do New Orleans once, or maybe twice.. How about 8 times and have two more NO cruises booked LOL

There have been other post that say the same thing about the shows. I think the Conquest NEW shows are bad. I think the OLD shows on the Dream are some of the best

I have been on a few Carnival Cruises, but I have never received any of the COMPs all of you have been talking about. I must be a low casino spender. LOL What level of play or money action do you have to reach to receive some of the COMPs. $200.00 $500.00 $1000.00 a week or more?
Thanks

Try the Spa on port days, not as crowded. You can get a day or week pass $$.
We have been on the Dream a couple of times, once in a Spa Balcony and once in an Aft Wrap. If the shows are still the old program type you will love them.
Enjoy your cruise 7 days or 14

WE arew looking to do a B2B, but need some info from people have already done a B2B........The good and bad

1. If you want to sit near the Serenity Pool get there around 6:30 ish. When we went, all of the lounge chairs were taken by 7 on the first sea day. Or at least held with towels and stuff. The attendant will place the chair hog stickers with a 40 minute window and then he/she comes down and starts removing stuff. That opens up chairs. However, when the person returns it can get a little testy.
2. Try to sit in the uncomfortable chairs on the floor during the show. Because the stadium seats have little to no leg room and are also uncomfortable.
3. Go to the Havana Bar to eat. Very quite and enjoyable. People will start discovering it during the cruise, and it will get crowded by the last day. But still quite and enjoyable.
4. If you have Your Time Dining get there in the first hour. The lines and wait do get long.
5. If Jamie Dee is your cruise director. She is really entertaining. However, she reminds me of the one girl in high school that is always over excited and it does get on you nerves after awhile. But she is good at what she does.
During lunch in the Havana Bar area is the Wok Asian dinning, at night the same area is Ji Ji Asian dinning. Need reservation but it is great food.

We asked and were able to use the milestone reward for both me and DW on our upcoming Hawaiian cruise. Wanted to do it on a more expensive cruise and no problem doing it.
Thanks
-
Can anyone who has used the milestone reward tell me if it is used on the 25th cruise or can you use it on a new booking. If you book two cabins and a person in each cabin has 25 cruises can each cabin get the milestone 25% OBC. What is the best way to use the milestone reward when you have two people with 25 cruises?

Thanks for a great review. We will sail on the Freedom in Nov 2014.
Thanks

We are sailing the Freedom in Nov 2014, so I'll wait to comment on those shows. I did see the playlist production on the Conquest and the shows were BAD. Sunshine was a little better. The Dream had the old program and it was still good. I think Carnival is going in the wrong direction with their new shows. Who ever at Carnival is make the choice of new shows needs to read the bad comments. We have been on 23 Carnival cruises since 2006 and 4 NCL. THE CARNIVAL SHOWS ARE GETTING BAD NOT BETTER. If Carnival is trying to get people to do different things in the evening, it is working.

I thought tips were automatically taken out on your bar tab bill?
a little extra goes a long way if you go back to the same :D bar and mixer all week. They will remember and you'll get the top self stuff and not watered down. Money talks

long island ice tea, with a $2.00 to $5.00 tip when you order..... Kick ass drink. go back to the same bar tender.
Your thoughts on Dream?

We have been on the Dream 4 times and have another booked May 3. As stated above the shows are some of the best on any Carnival ship. We have had a Spa Balcony, Aft Wrap and lower upper deck Balconies. One of the best cabins is an aft wrap sailing down the Mississippi. Food is good to excellent
