Thank you Moonlion for the wonderful trip report - I've enjoyed reading all of it. We are seriously considering the BIE cruise for next year as Orkney and Shetland Islands are high up on my bucket list. I saw the list of excursions that you posted a while back (sorry - just found this post yesterday) and I have a question. It looks like there was only on excursion offered for Orkney. Was that the case? I was hoping to see more than what's offered in the included excursion - just wondering if this is typical as there are 6 or so excursions for Orkney shown on the website - so not sure if it's typical to only offer one on the actual cruise (or maybe I'm reading the list wrong). We haven't sailed with Viking before - just trying to learn the ins and outs before we book. We appreciate greatly all of the wonderful posts on this board! Thank you!!

Hello - We are just starting to consider booking BIE for 2024. I have a couple of questions that I haven't been able to find answers to despite searching the Viking Ocean website and doing a bunch of googling. Hoping the good folks here can help me out. I'm wondering how much time we will be in each of the ports? I'm trying to determine what we can see and do beyond the excursions as a couple of the ports are places we've been before and have favorite spots we'd like to try to get to. Also a couple of ports are bucket list spots that we have more we want to see than a short day in port will likely allow - trying to decide how much this trip will allow for. That said - wondering how frequently (if at all) ports are cancelled - especially Orkney and Shetland Islands as these are a big part of the reason for the trip.
