  1. Have been to Bermuda many times but never in October...wondering how is the cruise going down and on the average, how is the weather in Bermuda at that time...I know its hurricane season but will take my chances... Bermuda is my Happy Place...

  2. DH and I have been to Bermuda a few times .We love the island so much and would like to spend more time there not just 3 days.. As much as we also love to cruise we want to maybe fly into Bermuda and stay for about 5 days....I would like to ask any of the locals if they can suggest an all inclusive resort to stay at or even a rental place ...thanks for any assistance

  3. does it looks like they are going to throw a bouquet of flowers near the ship?..that would be a nice gesture.. Also I have a question about the passengers personal item? will they ever get them back or are they property of the salvage company? To me since I cruise a lot it was very sad to see those balcony stateroom and the ship itself thinking what could have been

does anyone know what time they will depart? I am in the US and will be 6 hours behind

  4. If it dock port side this week does it mean that it will dock starboard next week? If so I will be :D

That is true you never know what the captain has in mind...the year we went all season the Summit was docked on the port so I booked a port balcony but the week we went the captain decided to dock starboard...oh well...still had a beautiful time...

  5. Docking in the New York terminal is a lot harder than it sometimes appears....especially on a very windy day, or with strong river currents...

In those cases, the Captain, guided by the docking pilot, must really 'stick' the landing, as they say in gymnastics.... Even with azipod's and bow thruster's, getting into that tight berth takes great skill to avoid hitting the pier or an adjacent ship. Often times a tug assist is needed....

We were on the Star a few years ago when the current drifted the ship right into the dock of the Intrepid...as captain Kostas told me later, he didn't hit the dock, just lightly kissed it!!!;)

  6. My family and I were on the Constitution in May of 1960 and in 1965 from NY to Genoa..I was 8 years old ( 13 in 65)..Our cabin was in third class...we had no bathroom...had to go down the hall to get ther and to take a shower..I always thought our cabin was under the water line...for that reason, now i will never take a cabin below deck 8 .....I believe we took the Independence back to NY.My brother and I use to sneak up to First class and play with the kids there...that ship really did rock and i remember getting sea sick..My brother even threw up in the dining room which made a waiter fall and get hurt...... Lots of good memories...this was the beginning of my love of the sea and of cruising
