I had a flight at 12:00 noon after the cruise and was told that is not enough time. The info I got was the ship docked at 9:00 am and customs would then come on the ship. So who knows how long that takes? We were then told that everyone must be off the ship by 11:00 am. The airport is 1 hour away with moderate traffic. Will stay another day in Athens post cruise.

I'm trying to find out what excursions are offered and the price. I saw a company called Dolphin Hellas that offered tours but they informed me to book through Celestyal Cruises for all excursions. Any tips?

I am interested in this cruise line too! We have cruised HAL, NCL, Carnival and Celebrity. We are looking into the all inclusive Greek Islands "Idyllic Aegean" cruise. It is port intensive with overnights in some of the ports. Sails every Monday out of athens.. Anyone out there ??

just returned from the panama canal ferry excursion. It was a long day! yes, it was very informative on the history of the panama canal. The ferry was a typical ferry....chairs under the shade, some out in the sun. they had a small lunch for us and sold beer and water. If I had to rate it between a 1-10, I'd give it a 6 But I would never stay on the ship!

I just printed my cruise documents and the last page was the info for that.

which tour would you do and why? Two oceans by railroad or the Panama Canal by Ferry? both are the same cost.
Help!:o

We went to Anan bear observatory on August 18, 2015. We flew out of Ketchikan with Family Air. Other passengers had floatplane tours the same day that were cancelled due to weather. We had an early flight (8:15 am) and it was a go! The floatplane experience is so fun. It was about a 35 minute flight. We landed in an isolated bay. There were eagles everywhere. There was a black bear on the beach. As we putted closer to the shore, the bear disappeared into the woods. We got out of the plane and were greeted by a forest ranger who gave us the safety instructions on the event we would meet up with a bear on the trail. The rainforest was GORGEOUS!! little drizzly rain. When we arrived at the observatory we were greeted again by another ranger. He quickly pointed out the grizzly brown bear that was feasting on salmon. There was a black bear hidden under the rocks. We saw two more black bears on our way back. Expensive trip but it was the highlight of our trip! The stillness and beauty of the rainforest was a spiritual experience!

Now, I admit to being biased....:) but the very best thing you can do is go see Peanut, the wonder dog who wears a pink Tee shirt and zinc oxide on her noise on the Herbert glacier...take one of those big yellow Coastal helicopters and go for a dog sled ride with Peanut leading the way....did I say she was a leader? who wears a pink Tee shirt? :D Did I mention that she is my dog? Huh? Huh? Huh? :D Oh, and did I mention that she has gorgeous blue eyes.....??????
I will look for Peanut on Wednesday August 19th!! I hope she can lead the way with her pink t-shirt and my pink cape! Can't wait!!

I have booked the Dog Sledding with an extra landing with Coastal Helicopters in Juneau. We don't go until August. I'm praying it doesn't get cancelled!:o

BudgetQueen....when is "peak" time? Is there chances we will see bears at a different excursion? We will be in Denali after the cruise portion. This Anan excursion is near $1000!! High price to pay if chances are there will be little to no bears! thanks!

Has anyone gone on this excursion? It's so expensive! I have a reservation with a permit in mid August. Just wondering if it is truly worth the $$. Would like to hear from you that have done this and did you see bears?

we are looking to book the Oosterdam North (from Vancouver) to Anchorage. I want to book a balcony, but does it matter which side of the ship we are on? Port or Starboard? Seems to me we should be Starboard. What about forward or aft? Best location advice??

We have a group (20 ladies) who will be sailing on the Victory. Where would be a good place to meet once on board??

We get to Miami early on the day before cruise. South Beach looks awesome to me.... way better than one of the major hotel chains. It was rated 4 **** on Trip Advisor. I went through Priceline and got a room for $175 (staying late January...not new years eve). I just wanted to know if it's in a nice area and safe area of Miami.

Is this a good area to stay pre cruise? On Collins Avenue.... I'm looking at Dream Hotel in South Beach, 1111 Collins Avenue. Any pros or cons?
