Also, Jeanine.. you mentioned it was correct on the old App.  So, if that’s still the case…work off that App and request your ocean medallion for the first cruise, ship or pick up at port.  The 2nd cruise, order medallion as pick up at port.

This just completes the process of checking in.

The only other thing you can do to straighten out the new App is call in and pick the option to speak to the ocean ready team and they can write up a ticket.  Hate to suggest a call in, but the only other option, if they won’t respond by email.

If I were leaving soon, I’d just complete my check in on the old App, print my travel summaries for each cruise and go!  I wouldn’t even bother calling in, unless it’s for a cruise later in the year.

Maybe, maybe not?  What a PITA.

Let me know how it turns out.

Thanks for all your suggestions I had given it my last shot with emails and decided to H... with it I'd deal with it at the Terminal as I said in my last writing. Low & behold I thought I would check again this morning and wonder of wonders it now shows the correct ship, Ruby and the Hawaii cruise. I'll worry about the Apr 30th on Grand when I'm on the Ruby if it doesn't show up. It was interesting that no notification at all to any of my inquiries and when I went back to check my old app the whole old app had disappeared so I'm not touching anything now !!! Thanks again.

This sometimes happens, if it is a new booking and you’ve just changed or added another cruise recently.  It should correct itself, but not always.

I would send a message to IT to correct this.  Make sure to show your full names, DOB, and  sailing date, booking number, etc for BOTH

    trips.

Most important is that the website shows your cruises correctly.

Thanks, I did send email as you suggested Feb 11th but no reply or acknowledgement nor change in Medallion App to date. I have also tried emailing Customer Relations and J Padgett which were returned as rejected so I am I guess going to have to deal with this at terminal upon boarding which will hold things up if they even let me in as showing wrong ship.

Thank you so much I will certainly send a message with all details to the address you have quoted. I had been looking for how to contact IT on the Princess site, which has the correct infor for both cruises. Again thank you so much. Jeanine

  4. I have downloaded the New App . I have 2 separate cruises booked 2 different ships one right after the other. On my Old App it was correct with 2 separate booking #'s 2 ships correct. New App now shows only 1 booking #, continuous date for both cruises 1 ship ????  Have tried to contact Princess but as usual no response.

Their App me thinks is totally messed up !!!! So annoying & time wasting !

Check your spelling? Yes, you have it correct in your thread, but unless you have the contact saved, it is easy to have a typo. I submitted my request last Thursday for 3 upcoming sailings around noon, happen to check around midnight that same day, and all were posted with my shareholders benefit, one of the quickest turnarounds for me.

Yes first thing I did was check my spelling and it was correct will probably just end  up faxing after one more try.  Thanks .

I agree, to resubmit, after confirming your spelling of course. Make sure your device, computer, etc is not auto populating the email address based on a previous misspell.

I have usually received the credit within 1-2 days, but my most recent one had not been applied a week later even though I had received an auto reply to the submission. I resubbed and it showed up the day after.

Thanks yes they have been much quicker than they used to be but could be a glitch on my end so one more try then FAX !!!!

Nothing wrong with that email address.  I just tested it as well.  Check with your email provider for any blocking (unless you are using webmail like Gmail etc and should be okay).

PS - Sometimes those email kickback msg's contain some detail info as to the nature of why rejected.  Most certainly the above is a valid PCL email address.

Thanks so much I was sure it was correct and checked the website showed the same I'll try once more and then give up and fax.  Again ,any thanks. J

  8. I have been trying to email all my information for Shareholders Benefits since July 5, 2023 to the email address I have always used and it keeps coming back as undeliverable? I am using sbpcl@princesscruises.com  I have tried on 3 different dates since then still get same postmaster message of undeliverable? Any assistance would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Last week I enjoyed the live posts from the Sapphire in Alaska, as that's the ship we'll be taking in a few weeks.  I'd love to hear some reports about the ship and excursions this week.  Any takers?

Just got off Sapphire on May 17th after 18 days onboard, staff was fantastic, a very happy ship with great attitude by all staff regardless of position.  We were a total of 19 ranging in age from 5 - 85 for the last 7 days and a party of 4 prior, without exception every single person in my party thoroughly enjoyed themselves and had no issues with cabin, food, staff or programs with fabulous weather albiet 1 rough sea ( one first timer in group got seasick) and a couple of days of rain, no complaints as never expected we would have such warm sunny May days in Alaska, only happened once before .  Production shows all awesome, 1 Comedian not good, Camp Discovery for little ones great with good hours, be sure to attend the on board Naturalists Presentation, Sandra is the best.

Anything you particularly want to know just ask. Have a great Cruise!!!!

  10. This was a very fantastic cruise, weather could not have been better, staff was fabulous, meals were excellent and boarding flawless. When rest of my group (numbering 16 for total 19 onboard) joined me on May10 th they had zero issues with boarding, Camp Discovery for Great Grands was so good they never wanted to leave.  Chalk up another great Princess Cruise ! Disembarkation was best and quickest ever.

IMHO, I thought this was quite unfair on the Ruby Princess as they removed the covers pretty near to showtime and those passengers arriving last then were able to get the previously-reserved seats.

On my recent Sky Princess Cruise these seats we were old are released 10 minutes before the curtain goes up. I agree they are not my choice of seats, lower section close to stage. I would rather not strain my neck and see the sweat on the performers. Only way we knew what it was  we were later than usual arriving and came in Deck 6 entrance direct from our Dining Room and all the "Seat Director uniforms", which is a real waste of manpower in my opinion,  told us to take any seat as they were removing the covers and releasing them, when queried they then said they always do it 10 minutes before performance!!!

While shows have no reservations it is advisable to show up at least 30 minutes early for guest entertainers and 45 minutes early for production shows. Many bring reading materials with them to pass the time.  For production shows passengers with the "premier" fare package have a seating section in the theater blocked off for them.

Just a note, yes arriving early is almost a must if you want to have a view of the stage or sit with your companion(s) who arrives with you. Unfortunately the Pool Lounge Hoarders who stake out there spots at 6 AM and sometimes never return all day also feel it is their right to "Save" Theater seats and are not polite when you see a whole row of empty seats only to be reprimanded by them for thinking that we could possibly sit there as they were "saving" them.  Makes my Blood boil and wish Princess would enforce their rules rather than charge to ensure you have a seat in the Theater and simply ignore their rules for Pool Loungers.

Princess is  not afraid to charge everyone for something that would not be necessary in they enforced their stated policies and trained staff in how to do it. Instead of the current "blindeye", afraid of offending a passenger and getting a poor comment which really does effect staff.  Not fair for Passengers or Staff IMHO.

Totally agree Grand Class is  the way to go. The scenery along the eastern side of Vancouver Island is spectacular and even though  I live of Vancouver Island I so enjoy the sight of  fishing boats, pleasure boats, pocket freighters delivering goods to the remote communities as well as so many small islands and wildlife. We usually do B2B for a total 14 day cruise, never the same Northbound/ Southbound, people would say why would you do B2B going over the same route, believe me always something different, weather, wildlife and of course glacier calving and travellers. The first time my husband and I went was after 10 years of cruising in 2003, had not felt we needed to see it as we lived in a rain forest, we were wrong and since 2003 did this route 12 times all B2B or 7/10 day roundtrip. My husband passed away at aged 88 last August just 11 days after our last cruise together to Alaska with four generations of our Family,  Happy that he got to hold the young sled dogs once more and see the Glaciers calve. I have 2 more Alaska cruises booked for this year with family and am looking forward to seeing what  Alaska offers us this year, always beautiful, always different.  I sincerely hope you enjoy your Alaska Cruise, I have not done the landtour to Denali but have heard very mixed reviews from fellow passengers on their experience so perhaps someone will comment on their experience.  Happy Cruising !!!DonearlymorningAlaskaBalcony2019.thumb.jpg.d01fc0cfc1563d5d29b65af785a2dd0a.jpgDonandJeanineAlaskaMay2022.thumb.jpg.db89781f68ca1f0d43dc4cb713224d1d.jpg

We did 2-7day B2B so Vancouver-Vancouver March 2022 and a 7 day Vancouver-Vancouver August 2022. Ports included Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway, Whittier with Glacier Bay , College Fjord, Hubbard Glacier, John Hopkins Glacier and several other glaciers which the names escape me at the moment

When we were on the Grand last September, we departed from Vancouver and due to a part needed in the engine room, we did not leave port until about 10:00 pm. Therefore, it was dark going through that beautiful portion of the Inside Passage.

What a shame I hope you will try again. Don and I were on the Grand August 3-17, 2022. It was our 50th cruise with Princess who we always came back to after many other cruise lines and have sailed exclusively with for many years through many oceans/countries now as I prefer their itinerary in most cases.

Include Glacier Bay in any itinerary you're looking at. That tends to be my first recommendation, regardless of where the route starts and ends.

I think one-way itineraries work best when you pair a land tour with it (either at the beginning or the end, depending on where you start). Princess sells something called "cruisetours" and you can find them very easily on the website. Otherwise, you could do a one-way trip up north, for example, and then rent a car to drive around Denali/Fairbanks/etc. at your own pace. However, if doing a Princess cruisetour, most recommendations I've been given and have seen is to do the land part of the cruisetour first so that you can then have the cruise part to wind down (and flights leaving out of YVR tend to be more abundant and/or convenient).

But round-trip itineraries are the most convenient and that's why they're the most popular option. The 7-day RT options are the most obvious ones to choose from, but if you have the time and budget and don't feel the need to drive around Alaska, then do the 14-day roundtrips from Vancouver instead -- you get the same ports twice, which gives you double the opportunities to do things you want to do but can't cram in one day.

As for where to leave from, I'd choose Vancouver over Seattle any day, and that's because you can sail the Inside Passage along the eastern side of Vancouver Island on most of the ships sailing from Vancouver (note that Royal-class won't do this, so stick with Grand-class or smaller), while you won't even get that from Seattle. Don't cruise the Royal-class for Alaska; it's my preference, but I think you get the better bang for your buck sailing on the smaller Grand-class ships as you'll have a lot more space to get up close to the scenery without as many obstructions. If you don't mind that and want to stick with a Royal-class, then I'd recommend Majestic Princess simply for its Hollywood Conservatory, which is a complimentary top-deck observation lounge (as opposed to the Sanctuary, which you have to pay for).

Thanks for the information. I’ll remember your thoughts on it for next time we are there.
There is nothing wrong with the free beach there, except you are swimming right by the ship. I love being able to just see ocean all around me.

Tour we took was disapointing and wished we had just walked to Mahogany Bay as fellow passengers had done and  reported it was great, so close and easy to get to. Lesson learned for next time !!!

We will have a family cruise on the Enchanted Princess this summer. One of our dining options would have us making reservations for seven adults at the Crown Grill. From the reviews I have read it seems the Crown Grill food is lacking not only on the Enchanted but also on the Regal and the Royal. Would Sabatini's be a better choice?

Just off Sky Princess Crown Grill was spectacular Filet Mignon prepared to perfection, however found Sabatini's to be "un edible fare" with hovering waiter who kept reminding us of his name and to give him good review. (spoke with a fellow passenger at Most Travelled Luncheon who brought up the subject of Sabatini's and said it was the worst meal he ever had and unable to eat it)

MDR meals were very good, all dishes prepared as requested with steaks etc very tender.

Enjoy your Cruise and please dress up for Formal nights, you will feel great and so will the wait staff with many fellow passengers acknowledging the fact you made it a special night for them also.

  19. I ended up putting an extra pillow over bedside auto lights which went on everytime you threw a arm or leg over the side of the bed. Just make sure you cover the sensor.  Hall light I had to live with and it was very annoying. Also on the Crown, just came off the beautiful Sky and no nightlight, wonderful !!!! I think if people need a night light they have enough sense to bring their own or use the light on their phone or bring a flashlight no need for the too bright annoying night light. I'm thinking someone took a fall at sometime and hence the over reaction (sorry if someone fell) but night light is a step too far IMHO.   I guess that was more than my 2 cents worth but worth the expense !!!!!! Happy Sailing Everyone

Yes, I love soft ice cream, but was very disappointed in all the soft ice cream that I tried on each of the five Princess ships that we’ve sailed on.  It appeared to be very poor quantity in terms of flavor and creaminess.  None of them were worth a second try.  As cjpj said, calorie wise it was probably good that I wasn’t tempted to go back.

I agree and I believe it may be because it is now made with "ice milk" not cream as it used to be. I don't even bother having one now and it used to be a highlight !!!

EZ-Air. If the price drops, cancel the pervious one and rebook it again at the new price. Plus, you don’t have to pay right of way.

FYI to consider with decisions when booking. The recent December storm flight cancellations proved to us that E-Z Air is the way to go as they took care of all costs rerouting flights to get us to the "next port" which was Kauai and PVP  we purchased allows us to file a claim  with receipts for all out of pocket expenses (max. payout may mean you don't get everything back} but 5 days of Hotel, Meals, Taxi etc . means out of pocket is quite a hit, particularly starting Christmas Eve, so very happy to have  had the E-Z Air and Princess Insurance which we normally do get  unless Cruise is of short duration and close to our Home Port.

    Happy Cruising !

The Panama Canal is a fascinating experience.  We really enjoyed it.  Check out the book / DVD recommendation at the end of my Panama Canal day posting.  👍  We got the PBS DVD from our local library.

Love the full transit of the Panama Canal and fortunate to have done it many times. While having done both I so prefer the Old Canal still love the history and marvel that it even got done in that era and more so that it still operates so smoothly. An experience never to be forgotten in my opinion. Enjoy your World Cruise and I will continue to dream that one day ..... I will follow in your footsteps if only I could stop my Birthday Clock !!!! Thank you for your excellent posts.
