5. When you see a group a other cruisers trying to take pictures of each other in front of an attraction, take their camera, make them all get into the shot and take the picture for them.
I love this tip! I've been trying to do this more often. Last cruise it was just my DH and I. We would offer to take other people's pictures and then ask them to take ours in return. Everyone was always so happy that we offered.

I have to disagree with some of the answers. I guess it depends on the ship. I was on the Carnival Ecstasy in April and we had the twin mattresses pushed together with only a king size sheet. There was nothing to fill in the crack in the middle.
We thought it was just our bed, but when we talked to 3 other couples at dinner, they all had the same problem. We laughed about having to fight over who had to lay in the crack, but it was still a little annoying.
On that same note, I've been on the Disney Wonder twice and both times and I wouldn't have known they were 2 seperate mattresses.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but be prepared to walk up and down A LOT of stairs. The elevators are slow, so it's sometimes faster to use the stairs.
By the end of every cruise my calves are killing me, but it's a great way to tone them :)

-Bring mini bottles of champagn (you can find them in 4 packs at the liquor store) Then order orange juice from room service. 1 little bottle makes 2 mimosas!
I love the tip about the mimosas!

I wish I knew on my first cruise to bring an empty beach bag (or something similar).. It's nice to have on excursions and even when you're just walking around town so you have a place to put all your purchases. Plus, if you're like me, when you pack your stuff back, there never seems to be enough room. So you have an extra bag for the excess.
I'm going on my 4th cruise in June, but bringing my neice for her 1st cruise. I love these tips so I can share with her the things that I already knew, but will probably forget. Please keep them coming!

Thanks to everyone for your responses. That makes me feel a lot better. I wish we could book for next summer but that's just out of the question.

I haven't read through all the posts yet, so forgive me if this has already been discussed. We've been on 2 Disney cruises and my DH would like to do something different that has a little more adult activities. We're looking to cruise again in summer 09. Living in the Dallas area, Galveston would be a lot cheaper to depart from.
I've always heard that Carnival is a "party ship". Would the Conquest be suited for a 10 yr old?
TIA!

Thanks for the suggestion of Gerry. He is available for the day I'm in Cozumel. I've never done a private tour, so I hope this is as great an experience as everyone says.
