What is your issue with World Fresh Marketplace?  Could you elaborate?

I do not like the World Fresh Marketplace either. Its like getting sandwiches at a convenience store. One evening on the Caribbean Princess they only had one meat at dinner time at the carving station and they completely ran out. I just dislike the layout and choices etc.

  2. Has anyone received their Ocean Medallion in the mail for any of the upcoming Medallion cruises on Regal? We are on the first 3 Medallion cruises on Regal, Nov 13th, 15th and 19th. We received a separate email for each cruise from Princess saying congratulations your cabin is a part of the Ocean Medallion Preview cruise and more information to follow. A couple days later, Princess called the house to say our first 2 cruises were not a part of the Ocean Medallion but our 3rd cruise was. We have not heard anything since and we have not received our Medallions in the mail.

Just got off the Regal yesterday, she is definitely not ready for the Ocean Medallion yet. The technicians are on board and feverishly working on getting the ship ready. They were loading huge satellites on to the ship yesterday as we were disembarking. Heard from a head waiter that it will still be a couple of weeks before the medallions will be in use.

  3. Have they also discontinued the theme nights in the buffet such as German night?

I was on the same cruise - Yes, there were no theme nights at the Buffet. Seemed like the same choices every night....One night they ran out of the Carving meat at 8pm and were bringing out small pieces to carve and most were taking almost all of the meat then you would have to wait again. Very poor planning. Very disappointed.

  4. I have been looking at what changes are taking place for the Caribbean Princess Drydock which starts today because we are sailing on her April 6th. I had to wonder though, what does the crew do while ship doesn't have passengers? I am talking about Servers, Stewards, Bartenders, Boutique staff, Cooks etc. Do they get time off? Do they stay on and work? What happens with them?

Also, We got an e-mail with an hour delay for boarding. I am wondering why? If there will be no passengers to disembark, why won't they be ready to accept new passengers.

Just interested in hearing what other CC members have to say.

  5. Do all Princess ships have embarkation day lunch in MDR? Will be on Island Princess in a few weeks and would much rather do that than buffet. Also, can you drop off bags in room before announcement they are ready?

Sent from my iPad using Forums

If the MDR is open on that ship for lunch then it is only until 1pm....There is usually not an announcement on Princess about rooms. They are usually ready when you board. At least they have been on the 17 Princess cruises we have been on.

I was shocked once on a Carnival cruise to find everyone on the upper decks with their coats and carry ons waiting to get in their cabins.

  6. I'll never forget the lady yelling at the Buffet Steward that she had to come to the Buffet for Breakfast because she didn't change her clock and the dining room was closed. How dare they do such a thing to her, she specifically said "it's my VACATION you know!"

  7. There are lot of vendors on the pier when you get off the ship. Very well organized tents with different companies offering different excursions. Not like Bahamas where vendors fighting with each other. I'm sure you'll find someone to take you on the island tour.

    Thank You!!

  8. I thought I had already posted this question....but now I don't see it!

Are island tours available via taxi...to just grab at the pier? Are they available in the afternoon? Are they open-air (like St Thomas) or a/c van type vehicles? What do you see if you take an island tour? Approximate cost pp?

    Thanks so much!

I am bumping this up, hopefully someone can answer.........Travelling next month (October 2016)

  9. My husband has a chronic bronchial problem from being around second hand smoke all his life and he has terrible lungs. Coughs a lot, especially in the morning, always with a tissue over his mouth. He is in no way contagious.

I, on the other hand seem to get a head cold after flying on an airplane 90% of the time.

Germs are all around, carry Clorox wipes and wash hands a lot and take Airborne or similar products with you when you travel.

  10. We will be in Antigua in April 2016 on the Royal Princess. We are taking a ship excursion called Catamaran & Lobster Lunch Scenic Cruise & Swim. Any opinions on this tour would be greatly appreciated.

I have not done this personally, but someone on our Roll Call said that this is an awesome experience!!!

    Please report back!

  11. Thanks so much for posting these photos! We will be in this cabin in October and were concerned about the view because on our booking Important Notices states "This cabin has a fully obstructed view"

Very happy now.............especially for the price we paid!!!!

    Thanks again!
