  1. Sign into MY ACCOUNT on Oceania website

Make sure your cruise is added to the BOOKED Cruises section

Then look at the excursions link click on the port & if the excursions are listed then choose the ones you want any with letters like OE FW etc are not part of the free ones

put in the shopping cart & when you check out I believe they want a CC but your balance will show as $0

I have never booked them so maybe someone will correct me if wrong

    Super. Worked great. Thank you.

  2. At the AC now. Full power & water. Many first responders staying here as well. Traffic is a mess with most traffic lights not being operational. Many if not most restaurants in the Condado area are open.

Hello, Thank you for posting this. we are scheduled for nov 28 at the AC Marriott. Be well and stay safe.

    Carolyn

  3. Just checked in to AC Hotel in Condado. They sent last minute request to confirm we were coming, but they honored the long standing reservation. Hotel appears to still (or again after yesterday’s power issue) be on generator power. Many assistance workers on location.

Cab driver was thrilled to have passengers. This is ‘high season’ in PR and the normal fares are way down. This is hitting the service industries hard.

  5. Just today. I saw that AC Marriott and Stellaris is taking some reservations.

We are scheduled to stay in san juan nov 28 until our first cruise dec 2.

Does anyone know these hotels, or which one is preferable?

This "easy" vacation has turned into quite a fiasco. We have reservations at these two and best western Palm. Is Palm far for a walk to the beach. I also heard the beach is closed due to the water being contaminated, has anyone else heard that? Thank you.

  7. Yes that's right. No blue jeans. We were on the amsterdam/tulip cruise last year. Some poor guys luggage was lost and he showed up the first night in jeans. They weren't going to let him in until they understood the problem. Turned out he had to wear them practically the whole trip....his luggage finally got there the last day.

I wore jeans ( tan and a black pair just not blue) and nothing was said. You can wear them for other meals. If you are going with husband have him leave the sport jacket at hone. They recommend it for the captains dinner but at least 75% of the men had on a nice shirt and dockers.

Very glad you responded. Thank you for all the info.

  8. We have been on over 25 Ocean cruises and now two river cruises on Uniworld

Looking at Viking 23 day - Bucharest to Amsterdam - July 5, 2017 - Very expensive for us. No a problem with money,, Just Now I have been reading where the past two years 14/15 and some of the rivers being too LOW and causing issues with the River cruising?

Can anyone help out here... I really do not want to spend between 15K and 20k (all in) and have issues with rivers being too Low??

Hi there. It is Larry and Carolyn from the Norway cruise on the Ocean last year. We are going on the Frankfurt to Bucharest with an extension to Transylvania on June 12, 2016. 31 days on Vantage. You cannot predict the water levels, but they compensate. It is just all about travel. Hope you are both doing great.

  9. We super, totally loved the Lofoten Islands. Spectacular!!! Yes, some port or docking towns in Norway can be very limited and/or not that interesting. That's why we do the research ahead to consider our options and review what tours the ship might offers. Not all ship tours are great, nor bargains. BUT, consider in advance your many and best options. A tour might cost some money, but it provides the logistics to see some great area that you would not want to miss.

In three of the ports along the Norway coats, including with the Lofotens, we did rental cars with another couple. Arranged and booked in advance That gave us flexibility to explore, see spectacular sights and sites, be on our own schedule, etc. From my live/blog connected below, there are many details, visuals, options for the Lofotens. Below is a little more info for others to consider in their planning.

In Norway, it's all about nature and amazing views, etc.

Lofoten Island: This 70-miles long island archipelago has natural surroundings regarded to be among the most stunning in Norway, with mountains, peaks, cliffs and white sandy beaches. The remote southern islands of Vaeroy and Rost are rated as world-class bird sanctuaries having nesting places for millions of seabirds along its cliffs. There are 35,000 people living on all of the islands and they are 886 miles northeast of Bergen. In November 2007, National Geographic Traveler rated the Lofoten Islands of northern Norway the third most appealing islands in the world. The Gulf Stream contributes to its seasonal fishing success. In Leknes, the sun (midnight sun) is above the horizon from May 26 to July 17 and in winter the sun does not rise from December 9 to January 4.

    THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio

For details and visuals, etc., from our July 1-16, 2010, Norway Coast/Fjords/Arctic Circle cruise experience from Copenhagen on the Silver Cloud, check out this posting. This posting is now at 151,550 views. Nice to be hitting this high of a level for viewership. Appreciate the interest and follow-up questions/comments!!

Here is one of our first Lofoten Islands views from a stop early during our trip driving south as we headed towards “Å". We had a rental car that allowed us plenty of flexibility to explore this great area, stop where our interests took us, etc. There is only one main road up and down, making things easy to navigate and travel in this super scenic area. Good road conditions, etc.

An historic seaport and cod fishing center is Nusfjord a few miles east of the main south-bound road in the Lofoten Islands. It is one of Norway’s oldest and best preserved fishing villages (fiskevaer). Here is one of its buildings and its harbor. There is also a cod processing building with various visuals to see for that historic era. The old Fish Oil Mill is used for exhibiting items from the Fish Buying Station or fiskemottak. They show a film called “The people and the fish”. The mill was built around 1910. Here fish oil was produced from fish liver. The fish was retrieved from the Buying Station then, transported by rowboat to the mill. Cod liver oil was a very attractive export product, used in industrial production and for medicinal purpose. We also got some great pictures of its birds perched on a large rock, etc. You can see more details from this website:

We went to the end of the road in the Lofoten Islands along the scenic Norway Coast. This is a charming village called “Å”. In their alphabet, this “A” has a small “o” above the letter. Simple name for a charming fishing town! We had box lunches from the ship and dined on a picnic table on the wooden dock. This was our view with the busy and noisy birds. From Gravdal to the SW end of the E10 highway, it is about 38 miles. Not a long, long distance. Very good and interesting road conditions, bridges, tunnels, options for stopping, scenic drama, etc. Parts of this highway is known as King Olav's Road. Until the 1990's, Å was mainly a small fishing village, but recently tourism has become the main economic focus.:

And in the other direction while in the village called "A", here is another dramatic view for the nature overlooking this harbor.:

Here is an example of the soaring rocks/mountains and dramatic scenery in the Lofoten Islands when we did our DIY drive south and then back on the Lofoten Islands. Nice? This includes one of the curved beaches about a mile and a half east of Ramberg.:

Here are some of the many wooden racks for fish drying on these islands that we checked out during our drive south in the Lofoten Islands.:

Your photos are stunning. Can you please tell me the car rental company in the logo ten stop?

Thank you. Great sharing. We are going next June.

  10. I couldn't get my head around Café Bordeaux's methods...

I enquired if we could book and evening table and the manager told me that 6.30pm was the only slot left - fully booked for the rest of the night.

Okay...so we duly booked for 6.30pm and arrived fashionably late at 6.45pm - expecting to see a few other early birds. We were the first to arrive and we had 4 waiters all to ourselves.

We took our time and didn't leave until around 8.30pm.... by which time I'd say there was maximum of 10 tables of 2. Yet, they were fully booked on the system???

Perhaps "fully booked" doesn't actually mean all tables full, as I do realise that the 4 waiters would have obviously struggled... but the restaurant manager could have got stuck in if needed, as he stood on ceremony all night. From observing how much standing around the waiters did, I would say they could have managed another 10 tables if they'd needed to.

Perhaps P&O have decided it not worth actively pushing Café Bordeaux pending the changes at the end of the year.

We are interested in two Aurora cruises. The trouble is, I cannot find a goo e-mail address for them.

    Can anyone help?

    I need to contact them.

    Thank you

    Carolyn

  12. Thanks Lois and cherylroslyn for taking the time to answer my questions.

I am looking forward to trying my first cruise on Celebrity. I wanted to book the Balcony deal in April but it was too last minute for me, flying cross country and all. Maybe next year. Hope i didnt pass up a once in a lifetime opportunity.

I also just lost 20 pounds and dont want to spoil it just yet by cruising. The food is the main thing i like to cruise for....which is why i am taking a break from NCL for now.

Lois i didnt realize you had been to those cities already...most people havent.

Now back to the "posting of cruiseline single supplement deals" .

Many cruises under my belt, some solo, where i end up meeting friends and new people.

Has anyone ever gotten a sungle rate on Celebrity?

My next cruise I picked up a great deal for the fall TA of Equinox, but not a single supplement.

I check sites as well that list single discounts,,, but nothing on a regular basis.

    Any suggestions?

Love to cruise and hope to meet you aboard someday.

    Carolyn
