Here is the dress I just bought for my May cruise on the Oasis. I took the brooch off of the shoulder. I'm planning to wear thin strappy gold sandals and a gold cuff with it. I'll definitely post pics.
OMG, is that model Courtney off the Bachelor????

We were there in Feb. The beach was nice but the lounge chairs were awful  They were so uncomfortable that I would not go back there for that reason alone  We ate lunch at the grill there - food was fine but be aware that the menu prices are in cayman $$ so your bill will be higher than what you're expecting if you pay with US $$.
Sorry I don't have a better opinion for you but I wouldn't recommend it at all.
Ok, so where should we go then? We've been shopping, done the Hell thing, the rum cake factory, the turtle farm and don't want to do the sting rays. Need a suggestion for something new to do:)

I emailed them for a price quote and they never responded.
I don't think there is any set price....or that's how I interpreted what I've been reading. They charge for chairs, umbrellas, food and drinks, it looks like to me. They have a nice website, but not too forthcoming with pricing etc.

Great, great review, enjoying it immensely! Question for you, did you try the Chinese wok place? Do you remember the name of it?

Beautiful, beautiful pictures! We've never had an aft, hmmm, maybe next time.:)

DD scoured the Internet for a Warm Chocolate Melting Cake recipe last year and I think she eventually found it here on CC. I have made this countless times and it tastes exactly like Carnival's recipe. You can make up a batch and just bake what you need as you want it, it lasts for days in the fridge (if you don't eat it all the first day!). The baking time can be adjusted depending on how much cake:liquid ratio you like.
I promise this is worth the effort!
1 1/3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (8 ounces)
1 stick salted butter (8 ounces)
1 stick unsalted butter (8 ounces)
5 eggs (room temperature)
5/8 cup sugar
2/3 cup flour
powdered sugar to taste
Melt chocolate and butter over low heat. In a bowl, mix together eggs and sugar and then add flour. Slowly wisk this into the chocolate mixture. Pour into greased (Pam) 4 ounce ramekins. Bake at 400 degrees for 11 minutes (my oven runs hot so adjust the time -especially if you like it cakier).
Dust with powdered sugar.
This is a very forgiving recipe. I have made it with whole wheat flour (trying to make it healthier LOL!) and with only four eggs (ran out). I also don't bother buying unsalted butter since I don't use it for anything else and we can't tell the difference anyways.
Enjoy!
Thanks so much for the recipe! I've got to try it:)

We are going on the Victory out of San Juan in October of this year. This thread is very informative.....keep the good advice coming:)

I love your port picture in St. Thomas, I've seen lots of similar pictures, can't wait to take one of my own!:D

Yes very... I think our air round trip was in the low $400 range from SLC UT. Then we stayed 2 nights pre at El Caribe ($85 a night per room) and old town Sheraton 2 nights post ($70 per room per night). Enjoy the trip
Thank you for replying, we've never flown to a cruise port, so this is a new planning experience for me, keep that review coming;)
-
Great review and pictures so far! We just booked this cruise and wa-la, here's 2 new reviews on the Victory:D on the main Carnival boards. Thanks for taking the time to share with us:)
BTW, I've found a hotel/round trip non-stop air package for the trip including 2 days pre-cruise and 1 day post cruise in San Juan for $441/per person. Does that seem reasonable?

We tried it on the Valor this past New Years Eve. We wanted to like it and come back raving however that was not in the cards. I would not pay for it again. In fact DS, DH and myself agree we wouldn't bother if it were free. The service we had was far from outstanding and it was not crowded-there were only 2 other people on the side where we were.
When we arrived 7 minutes early the server asked us if we would like to wait in the bar area since we were "sooo early". It all went downhill from there.
Glad to hear someone else did not have a good experience. I was starting to think it was just us. However, another couple we knew on our cruise, went on the same night and were not impressed either. We also wanted to come back with a positive report, it just did not turn out that way. Host Mach has done some wonderful reviews on the Point on the Conquest, so we were really looking forward to it.

Been there done that, never again. Bad experience. Not trying to be negative:o....just our personal experience. I had SO looked forward to eating at the Point, must have been an off-night for them. Food made us sick and service was minimal at best. Much better food and service in the MDR. We won't try it again.....

Hi!
I'm a nurse/mom from TX also; booked on conquest 2/15 due to the new itin.,traveling with DH, trying to talk brother and wife into this trip as well.
Can not wait, have sailed Celebrity and RCCL, have an NCL booked for Alaska in August, but I'm a carnival virgin. Hope to see you there!
Welcome to our roll call, see my "signature", lots of folks sailing on 2/15/09 Conquest, come and join us!:)
-
I guess i thought it was adult only.....do you know what the per person price is as of now? thanks!:)
Per person price is $30......
Another question, when we went on the Conquest last February, you could carry on 12 packs of cokes etc. Can you still do that now????
-
Mr. Pete:
Beautiful family, great review and wonderful pictures. I wish everyone would do their reviews this way......I never thought about going to Bermuda, but now????

If you can afford a balcony on the Conquest, GO for it!!! Our balcony was one of our favorite hang outs. I loved pulling in and out of the various ports, with my head hanging out over the railing like a little excited dog:)

I don't know why I love this picture so much....I think its the majesty of such a huge ship......
