sad to say much of what is offered  complimentary  at the gym is a come on to buy  more!  And they  have attitude if you don't!

Had that with a small  classroom health lecture..It started out interesting but then came the big push to buy  expensive recurring monthly seawood/ kelp? pills.

Most everyone got up to leave and the 2 sales ladies started yelling at how WE wasted their time.

Now we just avoid these scams .

I would not mind spending extra if the classes were great but rarely are the classes better than average but will definitely use the free classes included with Aqua class.

Hi all! We are looking to do a 7 day Norweigian Fjord cruise summer 2025. After a ton of research, Celebrity Apex really does, hands down, offer the best itinerary. They are visiting 2 UNESCO sites that will no longer be accessible to cruise ships after 1/1/26.

My other option is Royal Carribbean. It will still be beautiful - but the itinerary will not pack the same once in a lifetime punch as Apex.

My dilemma - we will be traveling with our two 10 - almost 11 year olds (at time of sailing) twins. My kids do not really like kids clubs, it’s a colder itinerary so I don’t think water slides are that big of a consideration. They aren’t loud or obnoxious, but they are kids, and I also don’t want them to be bored or judged by others. Apex just looks so fancy. Will my kids be completely out of place? Should I just stick with RCI and the less desirable itinerary because I know they will fit in on board?

Help a girl out! We have only ever done Carnival, RCI, and NCL - all of which I know cater to kids.  Will we be fine with Celebrity?

During summer break there will be more children but cruised on the Ascent 2 weeks ago & we only saw 1 kid onboard.  Any time we cruise with the grandkids it is always Royal as they have so much more to offer for kids.

Has anyone been to the Metallic party on Celebrity Ascent? What night was it? Did you dress in metallic clothes or just the celebrity crew were in metallic?

Yes, don't remember what night it was but mid cruise.  There were lots of sparkle dresses & shoes from guests & staff who were in the know.  The staff passed out glow sticks throughout the audience & it is a time to dance to the cruise directors music.

What ship? Possibly Peloton are not fleetwide (?). I know our 2019, 2022 Summit cruises, our 2023 Apex cruise and our 2023 Eclipse cruise had them.

All EDGE class ships have Pelotons...don't know about the others.

Hi, I am on the Edge in 2 weeks , I know there is / was a few Peloton bikes in the gym for use .. do you need your own account to access the classes or is it logged on to a celebrity account

    thanks

The last cruises we have done there have been 4 bikes but usually not all of them were working.  You can use the bikes without a Peloton account & just create an account when you login to the bike.  If you want a popular time you need to reserve a bike thru the computer located in the spa.

E Class has fairly ok basic gyms..so the classes are not needed.. They have enough to do  some cardio and resistance ..just to keep up a bit while away.

most of the lectures and demos at the gym and spa are  all about selling..we avoid!

If Peloton bikes are onboard & working then will most likely take fewer classes.  Last time we were on the EDGE there were only half of them working:(

Yes, there are free classes for Aqua. Recent posters have stated 3. But I can't seem to find anything from Celebrity in order to substantiate this. Nevertheless, over the past year and a half, I have received complimentary classes, but only when I identified myself as Aqua and I asked for them. On another sailing (when I didn't advise that I was in Aqua), I didn't get the classes.

Another poster said that they received one free class as Elite +. Makes me wonder if we could get the 3 for Aqua and another for Elite+? Has anyone tried?

The fine print on the Move Up request states "I will keep the same amenities that I have on my current booking".  It looks like if your bid is accepted then you do receive Blu access & we have the drink package so that is not relevant.

But if the 3 free fitness classes are included for a Move Up request to Aqua then I would probably submit a request.

I have a ton of OBC and I like to play Blackjack.  Usually budget $200-$300 to lose at most.  Will I be able to withdraw ~$300 of the OBC at the casino and use it to play Blackjack?  I will most likely play around 10 hours in total.  If by some crazy chance I win, will I be able to cash all of my winnings in for actual currency?

    Why is this so confusing?

Yes, have done this many times.  Go to the cage & ask for onboard credit out & they give you "special" chips then as you play you recycle the chips with regular chips.  Hopefully you walk away with all the $$

  9. I have done both and what I did not like about the Oasis class ship was you have to make so many reservations.  When I am on vacation I do not want to follow a schedule unlike my normal daily routine.  However, as others have said the kids love the RCI ships.

Hello, there is roll call for this cruise here on CC if you would like to join.  We will also be on the August 16, 2024 cruise.

You are lucky you received an email.  We got a credit for our February 4-21 trip to Australia and New Zealand last month.  No email or contact from Rccl.  No offer to change to the Ovation going the next month, The ovation is a day shorter and $1000 more at minimum.  The balconies are all restricted view. So there are no comparable cabins. Had a great hump cabin on the Serenade.  Now nothing

Tried to Escalade it and got no where and nothing

Thanks for sharing your experience and we will likely cancel as well but we will try with the travel agent to change ports and see what happens.

  12. Our cruise on the Serenade has been cancelled on April 22, 2023 due to the ship re-positioning to Denmark for the summer.  RCI has offered to rebook us on other cruises in March & April that will not work with our schedules.  Has anyone had success with asking to re-book on a cruise leaving from a different port but departing on the same date & keeping the same price & OBC, etc?

Any advice or experience you could share would be helpful.

    Thanks

It is $5 if in Canada and Mexico.  Also the pass has fixed amount of "fast" data and then goes down significantly. You are allowed to call to your home country and the country of your pass for free. I think it is a great deal but doesn't help on the ship unless at port.  Never seen a charge from any cruise ship while using Travel Pass.

My Verizon plan includes Mexico & Canada free with no additional charges.
