I ordered our tests for our upcoming cruise, downloaded the NAVICA app on DH and my phones, and set up our separate accounts. Is there anything else I'll need to do prior to starting the tests (once I've received them obviously)?

Nothing else but wash your hands & have a driver’s license available before you start your test.

  2. Cannot compare the 2 but we loved Norway & the Fjords due to the spectacular remote beauty.  If you enjoy the outdoors, hiking, etc you will love the options in Norway.  We were there in August & you could sit on the sundeck & have a cocktail in your swimsuit & enjoy the snow covered mountains...so beautiful.

Perhaps, booking directly with the airline, but Celebrity flights fares are pretty consistent whether online or by phone.  What I see online has always been offered by the agent on the phone.

Usually what I have seen is when I try to book it is higher by calling versus booking online.

If I book standard (not Basic) economy with Celebrity Air, can I still select a "preferred" or "Economy Plus" seat with the airline for the better legroom.  I'd appreciate hearing if anyone has done that successfully.

I'm too tall to sit in regular economy, so don't want to risk ending up in one of the standard seats.

Yes, you can as this is how we usually use Celebrity Air but don't book Basic (like with United).  However, I am not sure about non-US carriers as I have only done this with US airlines.  You will not be able to upgrade your seat until after you make final airfare payment & once I had to call Celebrity Air to do this.  Also, it might be cheaper to book Premium Plus on some airlines initially vs paying for the upgrade after final payment so check the prices.

  5. Your Mother could very well be correct.

If you book with Celebrity Air you are out no money until final payment is due & this has been helpful with COVID & cancellations.  Just make sure you book refundable airfare.

There is a discount on flights thru Celebrity Air now until Nov 1st but most flight schedules open up 11 months from departure so this might not apply to your trip.

You can choose the date you depart & you can select which airline you would like to book with.

Do your research by looking at options through the airline, then look at options online through the Celebrity Air link, & also call the Celebrity Air travel desk.  Our fares have usually been cheaper by booking online w/ Celebrity Air vs by phone.

And as others have mentioned if the fare drops in price you can cancel & re-book at the lower fare.

Finally, we usually book economy tickets, then after final payment is made you can pay to upgrade your seats, depending on the airline.  I know you can do this with American Airlines as I have done this.

Apex does; the Casino Bar was changed to Craft Social in the building of Apex.  Since I am not a beer drinker, I haven’t compared those listed on the app to the referenced list.  However, The app includes the Craft Social menu.

Just checked the list & I hope there are more options than what is included on the menu in the app, however, there are a couple of Belgium beers that look decent.  Thanks

I'm on a cruise on 10/8 (as well as 11/3).  So far, neither has test requirements, but I full expect the 10/8 email to come soon.  I'd really appreciate it if people here who buy the tests (FYI a 2 kit of Abbott is about 24.00 without proctoring, so that seems like a good price) report back on how easy it is to schedule the test.  My fear is that I buy it, and can't get an appointment in time for the cruise.  Thanks!!!

The tests without telehealth support are not approved for travel clearance to include cruise and international flights as you will need to make certain you order the kit that is proctored with support.

Folks ordering the kits should keep in mind that it is recommended to have two kits per person, since it's possible that a test could produce an inconclusive result.

Agree, I will always have an extra kit just in case one malfunctions or if there is a user error (me) but if you have several trips planned like we do there could be some extras.  I have 4 in the closet from the last trip.  Just hope I get to use all the kits & there are no cancellations.

I am very confused about how this test is monitored. What kind of devise is this done on, please? Is it only on an I phone, which we don't have. On an I pad? On line using your lap top?

You need the ability to scan the bar code on the test kit from the device you are using to login to complete the testing & you need to have internet access on the device.

I can get 5 unproctored BinaxNow 2-packs free per month without cost (my employer pays).  Sounds like there's no way to pay for those to be proctored.  If anyone has info to the contrary, please let me/us know.

The home test without telemedicine support is not an approved test for travel purposes, however, I was going to submit my cost for the kits to my healthcare spending account to see if they would be covered.
