  1. I still wouldn't book this mini. Leave that great shower for someone that

needs to sit down. I know anyone can book it. My feeling is I don't need it and greatful I can walk without aid, can use the mini bathtub instead, or fit in the standard balcony shower.

They don't book this as a handicap room, otherwise I would never have booked it. Princess gave me that room when I booked a guarantee. I was disappointed at first because the info on the room wasn't great but when we arrived loved it! When I made another reservation while on board I asked if it was OK to have the same room or was it a handicap room and she said they don't sell it as handicap room but couldn't tell me why. We actually had some friends and one is a disabled person over for a cocktail and had to move the beds on top of each other for her to get around.

  2. Don't be too harsh on the CSR. I had some guests for cocktails in our suite and one couple perked up very proudly saying how their inside cabin was almost as big and they always book a handicap cabin even though neither one of them needed an accessible cabin. They boasted how they we're sooo smart. I was shocked at their lack of respect for people that really needed the cabin. Unfortunately this has forced the people that need it most to prove it.

  3. Question for Tom,

I'm cruising next month on the Star. We are five passengers and I've invited 6 friends for the BVE ( Thanksgiving cocktails on the balcony ). Where is the entrance located for the BVE ? I don't want to have to go searching and find my friends standing in the passenger queue by mistake. Even worse I'm standing in the wrong place.

I'm very much looking forward to seeing the new terminal. I see that with every cruise they procedures are being ironed out. I'm sure it will all work well soon.

  4. Wow, I am so happy you posted these pics. I am in the same cabin on the Sapphire in January. I hope we get the small sofa, too.

I was in D737 on the Sapphire and the layout of the bathroom is mirror layout of the Star photos. So where you see the vanity is where the shower is. If you leave the wide bathroom door open you can shower looking out over the ocean. I've chosen this cabin on 3 cruises and would book it again in a heartbeat. The queen configuration works well and the desk is great.

  5. I was just having a day dream and looking at the inclusions for suite passengers. I noticed on the Princess Suite inclusions and saw on the indulge in enhanced comforts and a host of luxurious amenities page.

Unlimited wireless internet access and use of internet cafe.

I thought it was an old page but it has "come back new" at the top of the page. Has it changed since last December? Complimentary internet wasn't included back then.

    Thanks,

    Anthony

  6. As to the whole nut allergy thing, I have a co-worker who is so allergic the smell can start to trigger a reaction, she does carry an epi pen, for major reactions, but even a small reaction is uncomfortable to say the least.

Wow! just the smell of nuts triggering a reaction. I know many people have allergies to nuts. I would hope she would let me know if I was sitting near her on a plane. Next week on my return I'll be thinking of this and looking around before I munch in. It must be very difficult when something so common can do this so easily. How close would she have to be for a reaction to start? I would hate for someone to be that uncomfortable because I love my little bowl of warm nuts with my pre-dinner cocktail. I usually get a second bowl too. OK and a second cocktail. It's a looong flight from Australia. I also love the hot fudge sundaes, I pass on the whipped cream so it makes it OK.;)

  7. I hope I'm not hijacking this post. I am sailing Star to Hawaii in Nov and also trying to organize a BVE. There will be 8-10 BVE guests plus 5 passengers in 2 suites. We want to have a small party after lunch in our suite. I will be paying for all of my guests. Question is. Is it possible for the BVE guests to bring 2 or 3 bottles of wine between them for the party in the suite? They aren't big drinkers and I wanted to keep my 2 bottles,1 champagne for sail away and 1 special bottle of wine for a formal night. Would the wine brought on by BVE guests be subject to the corkage fee? If they are I'll just either carry them on myself and pay the fee or buy wine onboard. After already paying for 10 guests I would like to try to keep some costs down a little. I also don't want my guests to feel uncomfortable or pay the corkage at check-in :D

  8. Swiss Dave, if you think my opinion is rude, please tell me what we should tell folks who are allergic to the dogs, etc.....Do we tell them to stay home? What if I personally don't want to sit in the MDR with your dog next to me, I guess I should stay home........They quit serving peanuts on planes because of people with allergies to them, not eating them, but the smell...........

Beagle one.....not intending to insult anyone, just voicing an opinion, but if you are..............I like beagles, my son has 2 of them. They ain't going on a cruise ship though.

I hope you are talking about pets and not true service dogs. If you are saying you don't want to sit next to a real registered service dog in the MDR ask for another table, I'm sure the Maître D would be happy accommodate you. And for your information I had warm nuts on a flight to Australia less than 2 weeks ago. They stopped serving them on some flights because of cost.

  9. OMG. for the record REAL trained service animals DO NOT defend their territory, growl, snarl, bark, bare teeth, dip or flip. They SERVICE their owners, period. Dogs that do this should be removed from the ship like passengers that are disorderly. Done. No discussion.

  10. My big fella is a trained service animal for my partner and has saved his life on more than one occasion, he is very special to us. We still don't take him on ships as we feel that is not comfortable for him and the other passengers as he can be a little intimidating even though he is a very gentle giant. Also he doesn't like flying but flights are short. When he wears his jacket he knows he is working. I understand many people need service dogs with them all the time. I don't leave my partners side when our dog is not with us. He loves when grandma comes to stay and look after him and his little girl, she's not a service dog but just as well behaved. No true service dog will snarl and bare teeth! That is unacceptable behavior.

  11. There is still nicotine in some of the E cigarettes even if you can't smell it! My last cruise someone was sitting at Crooner's blowing vapor towards everyone at the bar. Not nice! My partner said something to a crew member and they asked him to leave the bar area. It should not be up to the passengers to enforce this. I believe that smoking of anything should NOT be permitted in public areas.
