1. 13 days to go...

⁂ i need to dig out my bathing suits ( hope they fit :( )

⁂ took my loose change to the bank to cash in... got half way done n the machine broke :(

⁂ i could prob honestly pack now because it nots really summer clothes weather here yet nor do i get to wear normal clothes outside of work and school...

⁂ ship docs printed. Birth cert located.

    ⁂excursions booked...

    lets go cruise!!!

Enjoy your cruise lissa. We get on when you get off.:D

  2. My DH and DS aren't "rednecks", which I consider to be a derogatory word...and they have often worn nice black or beige jeans on formal night...it's Carnival...The Fun Ship!:D They've never been turned away or even had a negative comment made to them. They always look awesome to me!:D

I'm with you mousey. Side note: I may not be a "redneck" but it is definitely a little "pink."

  3. I think there are too many ships in the Caribbean this summer. The rates to fly to Europe would choke a horse.........or at least any horse in my house.

So NCL has the Breakaway here all year.. Princess has the Caribbean Princess....RCI always sails in the Caribbean...I think NCL and RCI had kids sail for free promos.....

Carnival seems to be doing better than all of the rest except for RCI.

We are booked on the Liberty in June. Hope rates fall some..i would like to upgrade. I hope rates do not fall so low that the scofflaws start booking. I define them as the naked ladies, the drunk men who yell at their wives and kiddies, the drunk couples who don't know where their kids are....ever..the drunks who heckle the performers., the comedians, the staff in the casino who "cheat" them, the staff who did not do something they wanted done .......and then ...28 members of the same family in three inside cabins...some of whom talk loudly in the halls each night...yelling at each other in languages no one understands so you don't know if they are in distress or having a good time.

And No. I have never complained about another passenger to anyone on Carnival. Ever. Never would. But they irriate me and they all seem to have the common denominator. DRUNKS.

We must have sailed different ships as I have never seen most of the type of passengers you describe here, only very limited "bad" behavior. Granted we have only been on 23 cruises, so I guess DW and I have been fortunate so far.

  4. Just wondering what the dress code for dinner is on the Paradise? Thinking of going Memorial Day......do you think price will drop?

altay, welcome to Cruise Critic as I see you just joined and this is your 1st post. You came to the right place to get answers.:D

  5. OP, at least you are getting some "nice" replies to your question. Dress code and smoking threads are the most volatile on Cruise Critic.

IMO, how someone else dresses does not impact my vacation. I am there for me and the DW, not anyone else. Just wear what you are comfortable with within the suggested attire list by Carnival.

  6. 1st let me state that DW and I are Platinum, and have been for quite a while. FTTF has benefitted us the same as someone who purchases. We NOW can legally go to our room when boarding. Prior to FTTF, this was not a perk. We do not feel the program has in any way diluted our perks. Actually, we are happy to receive anything as many Companies (Airlines, Motels, etc.) are cutting back on loyalty programs. DW says her favorite perk is still the laundry. Keeps her from packing so many shorts and shirts.

BTW, why do posters keep apologizing or trying to explain their reason for purchasing FTTF? It's your money and vacation, so enjoy.

  7. I loved the ship, but as I said in the title, it is the coldest ship I've been on. I wore a Carnival sweater the entire time.

Sounds like us years ago on Triumph. We darn near froze and this was in June. We had to go out on deck (day or night) to get warm. Glad you enjoyed your cruise.

  8. We got the cordial glasses last week on the Glory.

Glasses? When did they start that? Do you have a pic by chance?

We will be on Glory in 3 weeks. I would also like to see pictures of the glasses. Tervis tumblers would be OK, although we already have 6 of those. Well, most any gift is OK as its free. If we don't need, we will give away to someone we meet on the cruise.

  9. Upsell fairy just called and upgraded us from a balcony to ocean suite for $250pp for my May 17 Glory cruise. I jumped on it as this is my boyfriends first cruise! Boy is he spoiled! My first cruise was an inside cabin! :D this will be my first suite! I'm so excited!

Congrats on the upsell. Kinda jealous, as DW and I have never received an upsell and/or upgrade offer in 18 cruises with CCL.

  10. To the OP, I noticed that you joined Cruise Critic last month, so welcome. As for different fares, rules, etc., yes CCL does have these, but so does all lines. DW and I have been on 23 cruises, but we still learn things all the time. We have not "arrived" to where we are super consumers who may be aware/knowledgeable of all fare rules.

While CCL can remove the OBC based on your new booking rules, I firmly believe you (as the consumer) should be told this by the CCL agent. This is the biggest complaint I read about customer service. They see the OBC going away, but do not give this info and thus you and I the customer find out about changes after the fact.

  11. Woke up hoping to see a new fall sale and looks like they've extended the summer sale that was supposed to expire yesterday.

Yeah, CCL extended the sale until 5/4. Maybe the bookings were not as good as expected?

  12. We're bringing wine and not sure if to take wine glasses or not. Are they provided in the rooms?

There should be 2 white wine glasses in your room. If you need glasses, drop by any bar and ask for glasses, they are always available. DW and I always take 2 bottles of cabernet and get red wine glasses from any bar, as needed.

  13.
Pricing for the current Premier Cruises is quite high compared to previous years. I'm not finding them a very good offer and won't be going on one.

My offer came in the snail mail and most of the cruises offered are 7 or 8 days and states I would receive $250 casino cash and that the rates are up to 35% off fun select rates. The only problem with that is the fun select rate is the highest rate there is.
The rate offered on these sailings is the same rate I priced on another site. There is no discount, and the rates for these dates are actually higher than the dates 1-2 weeks prior and 1-2 weeks after. CCL raises the rate, offers casino cash (which they will get back), and they have you all wrapped up. Not such a great deal after all, IMO.
  14. I know on the website it states 185, but is it 15x12, 16x11, or? Just trying to get an idea of what space we're getting.

    thanks

DW and I have sailed Fantasy class about 10 times and all are 185 sq. ft. for an OV room. Space will be the same no matter the configuration, it is still rectangular.
