  1. Is there anywhere in your reservation or the cruise personalizer to be able to see the Sip and Sail Promo listed?

How do I prove we actually have it? I have turned the res over to our TA just before making final payment.

Will it be listed on my documents? I would be very upset to get onboard and have a problem.

  2. that was included in one of the sales last spring?

We booked when they were offering the free AIBP last spring.

We are wondering if being the package was free about how they are handling the tipping on it.

Has anyone had any onboard experience with this yet?

  3. We were on the same cruise as you, hugger. It was, in all aspects, the best cruise we have ever had. Embarkation was a breeze (we were on board at 11am) and the same can be said for disembarkation-we left the main theatre and made it to the airport and through security in less than 40 minutes.

Tampa is now on my 'short list' of places to cruise from. The city itself is fantastic for pre-cruise days, and the entire port experience is something that should be replicated in all ports. Totally stress free.

This whole cruise experience made cruising fun again. :)

So Happy that you had the same type of experience we did with Port of Tampa. Impressive - now IF we could just get larger ships under the Skyway Bridge.

Did you by any chance see us pass under it on this cruise - not a lot of clearance for the ship. Now I completely understand WHY we can't have the larger ships at our current port.

  4. NWAFLYGUY - I remembered to post before your departure - hope you see this

We always check some diet Coke and some bottled water when cruising out of Ft Lauderdale. We just stick a luggage tag on it and send it with the porter. It shows up in our cabin.

However, we were told we wouldn't be able to do this out of Tampa. And, in fact, most likely wouldn't be able to take it onboard at all.

When we were dropped off the porter did say they weren't allowed to take it. But, that we could hand carry it on with us. And, we did! We walked on with a 24 bottle case of water, and 2-12 paks of Diet Coke. No one said a word - in fact, they even helped us with our carry on - letting us stow it up front by the check in counter while we waited in line - checked in and picked it all up again to walk on the ship.

AND, it was at their suggestion that we stow it up front. The kind man from port of Tampa even watched over our stuff for us while we waiting in line and then checked in.

    No question's asked :)

  5. Hi Linda,

Hopefully by now you've been having a good time enjoying Vision of the Seas. I wanted to ask if this sailing had a M&M. According to RCI's list, they had it scheduled for embarkation day at 11 am. Needless to say, I figured that wasn't correct. As of today, they still haven't listed the M&M date, time and location for our sailing this coming weekend. I was hoping I could guesstimate ours by the time of yours. If nothing else, we could have our own, even RCI doesn't participate. LOL

    Thanx

    Erika

Yes, there was an M&M meetiing - Vicki from our rollcall was kind enough to call and let me know that it had been changed to the 3rd at 11. We tried to get on the list through guest relations - NO GO. And, we even went up for the meeting in the Crown - they wouldn't let us in - so be SURE to sign up before they close the list for your sailing. I was shocked that they wouldn't let us in . . .

  6. And, have never used it - the only reason I even bother with trying to take bottled water is that it is my drink of choice. And, the desalinated water does make me retain water. Believe me I HATE trying to lug around a case of bottled water. I was one of those people who never understood WHY anyone would ever bother to bring bottled water with them.

Now that I am older I GET IT - was much easier when I didn't need to worry about it.

I wonder if the Brita goes bad after a while as I've had it for a few year's and never used it?

Thanks for jogging my memory on that

  7. That'd be great. We're cruising April 18th.

Please post a question to this board on the week of the 10th of April - so it will pop up in my email

truly please remind me though - as I am going on this trip with my brother and niece whom will be staying on with us for a few days. And, I may forget to get back on in time. And, I want to answer any questions that I can help you with being your going out that next week in time to help you.

We are going to try both bottled water and soda

We always tip the porter's decent so that it's not a problem with them.

    Have a wonderful cruise:)

  8. Wondering if you noticed the 10 drink cards for sale on the Vision.

I don't drink enough to make the unlimited drink package worth it.

Some folks are saying they are seeing a 10 drink card available - all different pricing on it. But it is better than full price for sure.

Or, did you see any BOGO deals on drinks or happy hour pricing in any of the venue's?

We want to take on 12 paks of diet soda and as well a case of water. Wondering IF you did this or saw anyone being able to do it currently?

  9. anyone had any experience out of Tampa lately?

I have trouble with the water onboard after a couple of days so need to take my own. And, diet coke for the cabin - with the other cruise lines we just slap a luggage tag on it and give it to the porter's. Never a problem - I try to be sure to find the best wrapped cases I can so that they don't feel a need to even check it. As I couldn't get a thing in or out of it without destroying the plastic.

  10. You're quite welcome, and I hope you will enjoy your Vision cruise. It was our first time on Vision and on a ship that size. We found her a beautiful ship and easy to get around, as well as super clean, due to the German head housekeeper.

I LOVE to hear that the ship is in great and clean condition. My DH and I truly LOVE the smaller ships. This cruise will be with my niece and brother for her college graduation trip. Hoping there is enough to keep them both busy. Me I'm HAPPY whenever on a cruise ship that is clean and in good running order.

May I ask did you cruise the Vision in the Western Car? If so do you have any tips or suggestions on what to do in the ports? Niece and brother will be Ziplinning and Cave tubing in Roatan and Belize. I have been strictly forbidden by my doctor to do either :(

I have never been to either port in our past 46 cruises. I would like to take a tour and see what the country is about in Belize. I am trying to decide IF I should go ashore in Roatan or just make it quiet day on the ship.

  11. Please keep them coming.

Great idea for the magnet on the door.

And, I have a sound machine - may throw that in as well as the fan - would take up less room than a second fan. We are at the very front of the ship on VOS in an ocean view cabin. I KNOW there will be noise from the ropes etc

I am going to take my head pillow too - I like at least 2 other pillows too.

EXTRA x3 crispy Fries will check them out!

air freshner and power strips ALWAYS :o

Love the idea of using the laptop to charge the other devices!

    Thanks ALL

    Please keep the idea's coming

  12. We're on the Vision on April 2, also. I did a lot of research before booking, and it seemed to me that most spring breaks are over by then....hopefully....:(

However, from what the sailing looks like it's pretty sold out. I have a feeling that the Northern schools may be still doing spring break.

Our's here in Tampa Bay are out this week. And, most college breaks are earlier.

I sure hope it's just that it's the more mature crowd (be they young or older) that are maybe doing B2B's staying on a week longer after the Easter break.

    ;)

  13. Your response certainly helps me as no one else seems to be responding. It's possible that most women don't use the locker/shower room in the gym. And, that more men tend to use them.

If there is an area with an outlet that works great for me as I always bring my own hair dryer. As IF there is one provided by the cruise line they tend not to work very well. Or be missing all together.

    Thanks for your help.

  14. It's been a few year's since I've cruised with RCCL. We are going on the Vision of the Sea's in two weeks.

I have searched but not found any up to date info list's.

I am wondering what are your not to miss things to eat on RCCL? Especially in the Main Dining Rooms and Windjammer?

    __

What are you tips about the ships and cabins themselves?

IE - where to find an additional electrical outlet? How to get more water pressure in the shower? Any additional hidden storage options you have found in the cabins?

What specific extra's do you like to bring for your cabin on RCCL?

    _______

what out of the places do you enjoy on the ship?

Looking forward to what all of we CCer's LOVE about RCCL

  15. I can't tell for sure IF you are still sailing on the VOS out of Tampa the 2nd of April. If so my niece, her father (my brother) and I are all sailing with you out of Tampa for the 1st week.

This is my our first time on the VOS. I have sailed many of the RCCL ships in the 70's and 80's - but only two in the 90's.

Hope to see you onboard - I'm a bit surprised that you chose spring break week to start. The only reason we are going then is my niece is on college break then.

  16. Ok, we don't need the Iphones then - need the walkie Talkie's I guess ;)

I am impressed that they have two outlets!!! Do you think that is on all of the ships?

    I appreciate your prompt reply.

I have a smaller belkin strip for our tech devices and then a regular wall plug with 3 outlets.

Have learned from experience to use the hair dryer ALONE plugged directly into the wall as they seem to pull so much electricity:o

  17. We are three people traveling in an OV cabin on Vision of the Sea's.

I know that the gym normally has larger shower's available. I am wondering about using this shower for 1 0r even two of us being there is more room I would imagine.

Does anyone have any experience with using the Women's shower in the GYM on the VOS?

Can you tell me what the facilities are like? DO they offer electrical outlets for hair dryer's? Is there privacy in the shower - shampoo, liquid soap and conditioner? Towels? Robes? available for use

Are there any private dressing rooms - anyplace to put on your make up etc

THANKING you in advance for your help with the above questions.

  18. Wondering IF the Royal IQ APP is working on the Vision of the Sea's yet?

And, IF it is can we use it without paying any charges?

If so what does it do for us?

    second topic

can anyone tell me where the outlets are and how many of them on VOS?

I know I can not bring an electrical extention. However, can I bring a power strip that is NOT a surge protector? We are 3 people in a cabin and will have devices and hair dryer etc

We always travel with a small fan to get air movement as well as white noise for sleeping too.

THANK YOU for your help - we so appreciate it CCer's
