  1. Good Morning to the most knowledgeable cruising public,

We will be sailing the December 26th cruise (New Years Eve) and we have returned to our favorite cabin designation J4 Junior Suite. I know that we can have dinner in Costal Kitchen (if space available), but my question is, can we have my son and daughter in law join us for a meal?  They are in a balcony cabin and that doesn’t qualify as is. Has anyone encountered this?  Thanks for your help. It is, by no means, a deal breaker. We can’t wait to get back on board. Happy Sailing!

  2. Good Afternoon All,

Can anyone tell me what their experience was with checking in online for their cruise?  We are traveling to port (as usual), by bus carrier, and would love to be in the first group called to board. Standing outside for X amount of time in January just doesn’t sit well with me. So, my question is, does the day of online check in mean midnight or eight am, etc.?  Does anyone have insight they’d like to pass along?  Thanks, John.

He's probably there to announce the new major cruise terminal that Royal is building in Moscow.  No doubt he was impressed by your C&A status and made sure to deliver the news personally.

And before he ended the call, he reminded you that he was trying to get a hold of you about your car warranty…🤣🤣🤣🤣

  4. Damn…I’m sure the o.p. was looking to garner some sympathy from the faithful followers of Royal Caribbean, but you know where to find sympathy in the dictionary. It’s between sh*t and syphilis. If NEVER booking again with Royal will make you feel vindicated…go for it. There isn’t any love here for those that bash Royal unwarranted.

I think the Dress Code Police on here forget that not everyone wants to dress sharp, or wants to dress to impress, or wants to drag a “Mrs. Thurston Howell III” steamer trunk full of “wardrobe for very occasion” to the ship in their car. And if you want to pack a minimalist saddlebag or teeny tiny carryon, and that’s it, that’s your choice.

I think some of the Dress Code Police on here forget that there are people whose work-life is a suit and tie - every … single … day. Heck, I don’t even own a suit. And I’m not buying one just for this cruise to wear. I didn’t even wear a suit to my dad’s funeral this year, and he’d had wanted it exactly like that.

And I think some of the Dress Code Police on here need to mind their own business when it comes to what other people are wearing. It’s none … of …your …business. Period.

I’m driving to the ship from north-central West Virginia, and bought a brand new 32” suitcase just for this occasion, and mainly because I don’t even own any suitcases. And I’ll pack what I please in that suitcase. If what I wear offends you, or anyone else, as long as what I’m wearing is not indecent, that’s just tough.

    😎

I wasn’t going to get into this because it’s a “no-win” topic. I just want to say to this North central West Virginia poster that your immaturity and your  “boldness”, disguised as bravado is funny!  I’ve been a Harley guy my whole life. I can “dress the part”. I don’t dress to impress anyone but my wife. She likes our picture taken every cruise (we are Diamond, so that’s a bunch). Remember the old adage…if you don’t have anything nice to say…you aren’t a tough guy. Where what you want and leave it at that. Safe travels!

  6. There was a change some years back about the way points were accumulated toward your Crown and Anchor loyalty group. Crown and Anchor will spell out the particulars, as I don’t want to give you misinformation. As far as Celebrity, you share your Crown and Anchor status level with the sister company. There are obvious exceptions. Over Diamond on Crown and Anchor equates to Elite on Captain’s Club. Hope I didn’t confuse you further!  Happy sailing!

  7. Radio,

Following the past two cruises you have commented on has not only made me want to read more, but I would love to be on a sailing with you someday!  Your attention to detail is fabulous!  My DW and I haven’t cruised since November 2019, prior to the world changing. I retired from law enforcement for the second time last November and we were supposed to cruise away our retirement together. Your thread has made me realize how much I miss the ocean, and I will look at things onboard differently (like watching the “news”). 🤣🤣. Be well and safe voyages!  Thank you for sharing your talent!

We have booked Celebrity Equinox for November with my mom (87). She finally said yes to come not only on here first cruise but her first trip ever.

We are so happy for her and of course for us that will have the opportunity to spend all this precious time with her.

    sea ya

What sailing are you on in November?  We are sailing the 9th and I’d love to meet you and your mom.

  9. Hi All,

I am looking for some help with my booking on the Equinox in November 2019. Celebrity said it leaves out of Ft. Lauderdale but cruisers are saying Miami. We are traveling down by train and getting to Florida the day before sailing. I’d love to be in the right city to catch the ship. Any help would be appreciated. One other question, if I may, does any seasoned cruiser recommend a hotel/motel close to the cruise port?  Thank you.

  10. Good Morning All,

I have once again booked on Celebrity and since my DW will not fly, we will be traveling from NY to Ft. Lauderdale by Amtrak. I am asking for recommendations about a hotel the night before cruising and some sort of transfer to the pier. This cruise isn’t until November 2019, but the knowledge on these boards is invaluable. Thank you in advance!

    John

  11. Hello All,

I am turning to my Cruise Critic family with a question that may or may not have come up in the past. We (family) are traveling in February. My granddaughter will just be three. We are on the Anthem again. That being said, here’s my problem. Money for my daughter is an issue. She has primary physical custody of her kids. The sperm donor will not sign the papers for the little ones passport. Will her birth certificate and a copy of the judges decree of divorce and custody be all the documentation my daughter will need to cruise? This is a closed loop cruise. Thanks for any help you can afford me.

  12. I clicked on your post because the boards are getting inundated with complaints. It is great to see someone excited! My oldest daughter and her husband are joining us for their second cruise and both are VERY excited. Having everyone together on Anthem gives me great excitement! So, happy sailing. The excitement builds as the date gets closer. I started at 430 days (everyone’s calendar meshed), and we are down to 188 days.

  13. Hello All,

I returned from my cruise on the Anthem and spoke so highly about her that a coworker has booked two cruises on her. He just asked me a question about being able to buy a six pack of Diet Coke on board and putting it in his room refrigerator. Has anyone been able to do this? My DW and I always get the drink plan and fill our soda cups up before retiring for the evening. Any help with this answer would sure be appreciated!

  14. From RCI's website...

"Exclusively for Grande Suite Guests and above as well as Pinnacle Members, Coastal Kitchen fuses Mediterranean influences with the unmatched riches of California’s bountiful farmlands."

For those above that say Junior Suites can use it, where is the confirmation of this?

I guess I am the conformation. We sailed Anthem this past November and were in a Junior Suite and had the opportunity to dine in Costal Kitchen each night (dinner only). It was a VERY nice perk.
