  1. You’ve done better than we have! Before we found out, we’d been to the grocery, the hair salon, and out to dinner with neighbors! Of course, we were pretty sanitized the entire time with hand wipes and soap! We feel fine but we’re staying in through Friday...especially since I now have an excuse not to go to my dental appt scheduled for Monday! Yahoo! (I know, I’m just delaying the inevitable. Sigh.)

We had such a great time on our cruise! It will be fun to relive it through your photos and posts!

  2. OK...feeling a little silly...but in telling a friend what to take on a cruise, a song started to form.

Here’s my version of a familiar favorite with a twist. Keep adding verses if you want!

Hooks that are magnets and clothespins for curtains.

Duct tape for who knows ‘cause problems are certain.

Highlighters used on your cruise daily news.

A flashlight to lighten your late at night views

A shaker of talcum gets sand off your tootsies.

Pack socks over shoes and then use ‘em as footies.

A corkscrew for drinking that aged grapey booze.

These are some things that we take on our cruise

    When the ship sails,

    you will not fail

    if you use my list.

    ‘Cause doodads and knick knacks

    Emergency brick brack

Will make your cruise carefree now!

  3. Was on the Edge for a week, then the Silhouette for 12 days...both suites. I thought the Edge suite experience was far superior to the Silhouette’s revolutionized attempt at suite amenity areas. The Retreat Lounge on Silly is the old Michaels Club. On the Edge, it’s as wide as the ship with a shaded outdoor area, lots of comfy seating and couches, floor to ceiling windows on the sea, Bloody Mary bar every morning, a wine refrigerator, beer available in the refrig, private restrooms. On the Silhouette, the deck 15 area is very windy with no shade.. Deck 16 was up a flight of stairs and had some shade at the smallish bar and on the side and eating area (which had uncomfortable cushions on a curving bench for lunch patrons. On the Edge, the bar also had a small number of tables in a cafe type area. Also a pool besides the hot tub. If you’re gonna spring for a suite, do it on the Edge or Apex. Might not mean that much on the S class...except for the delicious Luminae...but you can buy a specialty restaurant package for less! I know the S class has to work with what is already built into the ship design so it was hard to match the Edge class.

  4. Edge 2/16-23 and the Silhouette 2/23-3/6

Lots of stair rail cleaning. Only used a knuckle for elevator buttons. Didn’t eat in the buffet much but when we did, we used a hand wipe AFTER handling the serving spoons. We cleaned our table with a hand wipe and set our silverware on an extra napkin. Think about all those hands on the serving spoons before you sit down to eat. Use a hand wipe before eating!

  5. Nope———nothing worked. I swear I was in the edocs because the print was small-ish. When I go to cruise planner, it doesn’t have all the onboard credit I actually have (doesn’t’t show $ from TA) so the amount left after booking excursions isn’t correct. Oh well...thanks for trying.

  6. Curious they haven’t turned on the App access yet. Maybe they’ll wait until they set sail tomorrow? You’d think they’d want to release it beforehand and make sure it’s working. At least, I’m assuming the ship will be App applicable after its retrofit. Who knows...maybe that’s a later addition?

  7. I read the post recently about how the Celebrity ship casinos are stacked heavily for the house but I usually go in there and burn $20 somewhere along the way during a cruise. I recently got an email from M-Life (which I signed up for..why?..cuz I could, I guess) saying I was in the Sapphire tier. So, I looked up the benefits. What does the $500 in free  chips mean? They’re just gonna hand me $500 to gamble away? Seems kinda crazy but, hey.....

And, I have no idea how I went from Pearl to Sapphire.
