  1. I have been trying to list all the ports of call that I have been to on my various cruises. Unfortunately I did not keep track of some of my older cruises when I first started sailing with RCCL. I know there are many veteran cruisers out there, and who knows I may have sailed with you at one time. As I said I am looking for the ports of call for the following 7 day cruises. Feel free to discuss any memories.

    Song of Norway....July 1984......Eastern Carib

    Nordic Prince........Nov 1985......Western Carib

    Song of America...Oct 1987.......Eastern Carib

    Sun Viking...........Oct 1989.......Southern Carib

    Sovereign of Seas..July 1994.....?

All sailings were out of Miami except for the Sun Viking which sailed out of San Juan

    Good Sailing, Murf

  2. The newest version of Adobe lets you enter information on a document that someone authorizes them to do so. If you change the formatting of the sign to allow this feature, we could type in our names and print out the signs with our names on it. Imagine that, each member with his own personalized sign with no additional software other than Adobe. Good Sailing, Murf

  3. Back in 1975 we were looking to take out first cruise. We convinced our best friends to join us, but they could not afford to book a separate cabin. So the 4 of us stayed in one stateroom and had a memorable experience. We packed that little cabin with all our family for a "bon voyage" party (yes they were still allowed back then), a case of champagne and another of soda. We then went on deck to throw our streamers off the side and way good bye to our family and friends. 32 years ago and the memories are like yesterday. We sailed on a 7 nighter to Bermuda and tried to do everthing as if we would never take another cruise. It turned out that way for our friends, but not for us. we feel in love with cruising and there is nothing to compare with the New York skyline when you sail down the Hudson River.

A few years later we once again sailed on the Amerikanis on a cruise to nowhere. We did not know what ship we were going to sail on until we got there. What a pleasant surprise when we arrived to find our first cruise ship waiting for us. Needless to say we stayed up all night. Like everyone else she has provided many fond memories, even though she can not be compared to the monsters of today.

  4. We booked a Transatlantic from Harwich to Boston in 2006. My wife was concerned about being on one of those "big" ships where there would be too many people. The people at RCI told us that this was one of their newest ships but not one of their large ships. They told us we would be very comfortable; and we were. We were most impressed by all the views. Everywhere you went you had a view of the ocean. We really liked sitting in the Safari Lounge located in the stern where you could watch the ship's wake. That was a toss-up with our all time favorite, the Viking Crowne Lounge. The Schooner Bar was not as good as on other ships. Maybe it was this particular cruise. They kept changing the muscians every night instead of leaving a piano player there each night. Everyone raved about the 2 specialty restaurants, we were too late to make a reservation. Book early. There always was room in the theatre and the shows were first rate.Favorite spot to relax is the Solarium. Favorite port on the cruise was Cobh, the port for Cork. It is truly beautiful and they made us feel welcome
