  1. Travelling with my children (age 4 and 8) over April break. I have done a copious amount of research but cannot seem to find pictures of the GEM splash academy other than the kiddy pool.

Of particular interest is whether the "jungle gym" climbing structure is still around.

So, if anyone has a picture, a link to a picture, or any other GEM specific splash academy information to share - would be super appreciated.

Happy holidays and stay warm if you are in the north.

  2. Travelling in April with two kiddos. Arriving on Norwegian Gem as a port stop.

As far as I can tell, we will be docking at Terminal 3, but as the Anthem is there the same day, I am not so sure. Any ideas?

Have read a lot on Jetty park but wanted to clarify a few things.

    1. Are there available shuttles or taxis for Jetty park, other than paying an excursion? I saw 2-3pp each way; does this seem like the going rate? In the general taxi line?

    2. Does the taxi drop you off at the entrance to the park or can they drop you off at Fishlips at the Jetty? (Clarifying - is there an entrance cost for Taxis... I know we can walk in without cost - but would prefer to taxi with kids and beach stuff).

Thanks. I am open to any additional info you may have as well - I have read pretty much every post re: Jetty Park since 2015.

  3. Hi all.

Travelling with 4 year old and 8 year old over spring break an in Nassau for a full day. Trying not to break the bank (this was not a planned cruise) and have done some research. Apparently Saunders and Montagu Beach are in close proximity to the cruise port and might meet our needs.

Any preference here as to why you would choose one over the other? Any rough ideas on Taxi fare, to and from?

    Thanks in advance.

  4. Evening.

I am looking at a 2019 cruise with NCL for the first time in 15+ years. When I logged into NCL, they have me in the system (under my maiden name) but have me as a first timer. I cruised NCL 4 times before "Freestyle cruising", between 1998 and 2001 but don't have the exact sailing dates, only the rough seasons, the departure ports and the ships.

Do you think there is a way to get credit for those cruises by calling Latitudes? It would be 28 days so would really like to have them if I can.

Offices are closed right now, but thought I would ask, as CC often has the answers.

TIA and have a great night. Looking forward to being back on CC to plan and enjoy the anticipation of my next, long awaited cruise.

  5. Didn't realize our cabana was next to you at Grand Turk, too! We were in 9. And, though I don't know how to quote to show you the picture, you have caught our whole family in the pool in the picture of your two clock drinks :)

My husband in the man walking out of the pool, my mother has the pink hat on, my kids are there in their life jackets, and sadly, I am there too ;)

    Enjoying your look back!

  6. Thanks so much for sharing.

Only 12 Days before we leave on our cruise - also to Grand Turk and HMC.

Loved your input and your videos. Realized that I hadn't taken shade into account enough. Will be looking for 11 or 8 now, before 10 or 7.

Looks like you had an amazing time. Really appreciate you sharing it with us!

  7. I thought on this a long time. I am travelling with my 2 year old daughter and my 5.5 year old son (with special needs).

From reading reviews, looking at pics and asking a few questions - I finally decided to try and get a cabana farther away from the kids area. We have a lot of climbing/park like activities in our yard, and it is likely to be screaming hot, so I am not worried about going to the playground. And with the addition of waterworks and slides to our ship - the kids water area - is not likely to be missed.

We too are bringing sand toys and there will be floats with the cabana.

Aiming for cabana 7 or 10. Somewhere in between would be okay too. Near to the bathrooms and close enough to the bbq.

Will try to remember and pop in after the cruise and let you know how it worked out.

  8. We are on the Pride in September. We have a cabana and are at HMC from 9-5.

I wish I could pull Jamman54's back on the last tender trick but I am traveling with my Autistic 5 year old son. He does not wait in lines well - is best for him and those around him if we don't.

That being said - what time do I need to leave to avoid the line to return to the ship?

    Thanks in advance.

    Andrea
