  1. Visiting Belize for the first time with my DD (23 and 25).  We really only want to do some port shopping and go to the Travellers Rum Center.  No shore excursion just goes to Travellers., which means a cab or a long walk- right?  Are cabs pretty safe?  I am not a skittish tourist, but also don't see a need to put us in any weird situations.  All the private tours I have looked at do more than we want or need to do.  Any suggestions?  TIA!

I don't think you'll have to worry about that.  The more restrictions, the fewer people will be cruising that line.

My question is, we've already pre-paid for a cruise in the fall and are not going to go if we have to wear masks.  What's the best way to get a full refund rather than credit (since I doubt we'll be using RCCL any more.)

if you are trying to find a cruise line that will not require masks, you are going to be home for a while.  if CDC approves this- it will apply to all the lines.  I do not understand why people just can't follow the damm rules.  We would be working our way out of this mess if people would just do the right thing

  3. Feels like these recommendations are "vague", as some think, because this panel was developed for Royal AND NCL, and would likely be used be other cruise lines as well.

If they want me to get tested, I will get tested.  If they want me to wear a mask in the theater and elevator, I will do that, too.  I am comfortable with all these recommendations and will do whatever they say to be on a ship again.  Looking forward to reduced capacity as well!

  4. I have been reading some posts on the MSC board regarding their recent sailings out of Italy.  It seems to me that the precautions put in place make sense and still allow some sort of "normal" cruise.

If these are the sorts of precautions and policies that RC is able to put in place, I can certainly abide by them and have just a spark of hope regarding my Nov 5 Indy cruise and certainly my April Harmony transatlantic

That's interesting, were the times to board listed as every 30 minutes. Does it tell you to arrive at least 2 hours before?

i really don't remember- i usually pick the earliest boarding offered.  for this cruise (in theory), i am flying in the day before and staying nearby (in theory).  i just looked again at additional times and there is the 11am that i have and then no other times listed until 130.

  6. Really don't know when they can start.  I have a November 5th on Indy, which i am not optimistic about.  It was a casino comp, so no huge loss if I don't go.  Have a TA on Harmony in April of 2021, and starting to wonder about that one.  That one would be heartbreaking as it was a 30th anniversary present to ourselves.

The "wait and see" is the worst part

If you wanted to do the waterpark on two separate stops, you'd have to buy it twice. I am not sure if RCL has ever done two stops on one sailing. Hopefulness is all my comment was about. I know Disney does many Summer cruises with 2 stops at their island.

Several itineraries stop twice- I know Navigator does

  8. I am slowly accepting that I will not be cruising anywhere for the rest of 2020.  Had a casino comp for early september that was cancelled and I am not sure I see any light at the end of the 2020 tunnel. I could move it, but to when?  I also think there will be at least one more round of cancellations.  Have a "bucket list" TA in April on Harmony, so may have to focus all of my energy and focus on that one

This was posted on another thread (one which I seemed to have ticked a few folks off from-lol!), so, it might work for you! I actually moved my from August cancelled comp cruise to the 11/1/20 sailing due to casino rooms still being available. I look forward to that cruise!!

"UPDATE: Based on some posts I saw on the Club Royale social media site, I called back and asked if I could just "move" my cancelled comped August cruise. The answer was Yes, but only to certain Caribbean cruises sailing between September 15 and February 2021, that had "casino-rate cabins" still available. So I moved my August Symphony cruise to a January Oasis. I tried to get Allure for December but all "casino" cabins had already been booked. But I am happy I was able to move my cruise!"

    good to know!

  10. Like many on these boards, I had an offer earlier this year for a comped Junior Suite/Free Play for any Caribbean cruise Sep-Nov.  I booked Indy for September 10th- hoping she would go.  In light of Friday's non-announcement announcement (shouldn't have had to hear that on the news), i thought I would call the Club number and see if it was possible to move that booking to later in the fall.  I know they could suspend again, but since I am not really out any money on this cruise- thought it was worth a try.  I read loads of people who bash customer service during these unprecedented times, so i wanted to share my experience.

I had gone online late Friday night to cancel my booze package and Beach Bed rental.  My reasoning was that maybe that would speed up my refunds, but we will see if that works.  I called Sunday afternoon and the call was quickly connected to a representative.  I asked if it was possible to move that September 10th booking to later in the fall.  She said that they did not know how they were going to handle those casino offers yet, but that had been told that they would receive some direction on Tuesday  (tomorrow 6/23).  I assume then, that most of the cancellation emails will be sent tomorrow as well?

She was very kind and apologetic for the time it took her to pull up my booking (it was all of about 25 seconds).  I said it was no matter to me and to take her time.  I said that I felt for all of the service reps doing all the things that they have had to do the last few months- FROM HOME.  She thanked me and said she was talking to a  co-worker the other day about how she just missed being around real people.  I think that is a sentiment we can all relate to.

Will I get to sail this fall?  I do not know.  But if i can, i will.  i know that people are waiting on refunds and getting frustrated- i get that.  And having to change vacation plans is annoying and disappointing.  But that is not a good reason to not be kind to each other.  I was pleased with my phone experience yesterday- as I am most times with the Club Royale service reps.  They are doing the best they can - as are we all.

Looking forward to seeing what happens tomorrow- hope I can move that sailing!

  11. I have a suite GTY next April on Harmony for the transatlantic. smallest cabin i would be assigned is a JS, and I am fine with the location of any of those.  And it is possible to get a larger cabin.  7 years ago did a Suite GTY for Alaska and ended up with a Grand Suite.  For Harmony- two people with the suite GTY was $3100 with my diamond and casino discount.  at the time, there were no JS to select on your own- if you clicked on it, only GS were displayed.  There are several online now, but we are almost 300 days out.

  12. I have no problem with kids having the same status as their parents until 18(or whenever RCCL figures it out).  My daughter had my status match until she turned 18.  Now she is about 10 points away from Diamond on her own.  We have cruised together since she turned 18 and she earned her own points.  I cruised without her as well, so I am well past Diamond.  She is mostly annoyed that she can't go into the DL on our upcoming cruise!  But, based on the snobby attitude on here about the DL- she may be glad she isn't able to go in:)
