  1. I have a casino comp cabin on Indy September 10, 2020.  Yesterday, I was bored, so I counted up the unsold cabins.  Final payment day is next week sometime.  As of yesterday, there were 326 cabins unsold- about 18%.  Will be interesting to see how that number changes after final payment is due.  At this point, if she sails, there doesn't look to be too many chair hogs by the pool!   If she sails., I will be on her.  If she doesn't, I am not losing money, since I didn't pay for the cruise, and would get an airfare credit from Southwest and Cruise Planner purchases back.

Really hope she sails- I need a break!

  2. I must say, this makes me a little more optimistic as well.  He certainly seems to understand the nature of the illness and what experts are suggesting/recommending.  I do believe that given the time that the cruise industry has had to come up with solid policies and procedures will make us all, including crew, safer.

Have a casino comp cruise oon September 10th- if it sails, I am on it

For the first time - I booked a GTY Suite on the Oasis of the Seas. It was only $58 more than booking an Oceanview Large Balcony - so I couldn't resist.

That being said - I know the minimum room would be the Junior Suite. I know that I don't get all the perks of the full suites but again, for $58 - I am satisfied with that. However, what are the chances of getting an actual full suite (Grand Suite for example)?

    Thanks.

Not sure what actual chances are.  I have done the same thing for Harmony TA next year.  The last time I booked a Suite GTY, I ended up in a Grand Suite.  So, it does happen.  I always approach the gty rooms as what they are- I am going to get at least the type i booked.  Anything more than that is a bonus

  4. You don't really need to explore to find the area that you are asking about... it is the location that you embark Oasis class ships. It is the very first place that you set your foot when you boarded. Though sonetimes boarding is so exciting that you don't always take everything in.🙂

Wow-  Thanks for the boarding advice.  Have you ever gotten to work and not remembered if you locked the house?  You know you probably did, because you always do, but can't remember the actual act of locking the door that morning?  And it drives you crazy until  you go home and see that  indeed you did lock the door?  This is kind of like that.

  5. quick question- I haven't been able to find the answer

On the deck plans, it shows a running track on deck 5- which makes sense because you need to have some sort of open deck for the lifeboats.  I was on HOTS in february and don't remember seeing a lower outside deck, but i also wasn't looking for it.  We are doing the April 2021 transatlantic and my husband likes those lower decks to watch the waves and ponder his existence. If there is a running track, must there also be an outdoor deck of some sort on deck 5?

  6. $194 on two cruises.  had to pay port fees/taxes for myself on a casino comp JR suite on Indy in September. Used a future cruise booking for Harmony April 2021 transatlantic.  final payment on that is not until January, so not worried about that one yet.  For Indy in september- i haven't booking anything on planner, so i can wait until closer to sail date to see what happens.

  7. as i understood it, as long as you paid something- you got the points.  I assumed that I would not get them on the original room- since i only paid the taxes.  but i will have paid something for this new room  (balcony for $400 is still pretty good).  Guess I will see how it turns out.  I have never been on a cruise where I was a single occupant, so add that to the mix and I have no idea how the CA points will work in a casino comped, royal up'd cabin!

  8. I have looked around the boards trying to find the answer to my specific circumstances, but haven't seen one.

I booked last minute on Harmony thru the casino with a comp cabin.  Originally, I was booked in a Studio Ocean View since I was travelling alone, and that was fine.  I was offered a Royal Up a couple weeks ago and placed a bid on a Central Park Balcony- knowing that if accepted I would be paying double occupancy for a single occupant-but was fine with that, too.  Yesterday, my Royal Up bid was accepted and I now am in a CP Balcony cabin.  Cool!

Here is my question.  I know that in my original cabin, I would not receive any CA points.  No points if you don't pay-that is understood.  In the past, I have booked an upgrade when making my reservation with the casino.  For example, comp was an ocean view, but I upgraded it to a JS and got the points.  Technically, I did pay for the Royal Up, so do I now get the points in this new cabin?  Do I get the single occupancy bonus since it is in a standard double occupancy cabin?

Can't seem to find an answer- anyone else done this?  Did you get any CA points at all?

  9. I will be in a studio ocean view in  2 weeks.  I am by myself in the cabin and plan on taking quite a few photos.  I also had a hard time finding any photos or images, so hopefully I can get some shots that will help others.  i am a little concerned about the size- have been in Jr Suites the past 5-6 cruises, so I have gotten used to all that space!  But- this cabin was comped thru the casino, so can't complain if it doesn't cost anything!  look for photos after i get back on Fe b9th!

  10. We made it to Cozymel on time- and were sailing at almost 21 knots the whole time. Didn't seem to be any propulsion issues- we were flying all night and into the sea day. Spoke with a bartender who was on the stretcher team.  Gentleman had a fall up in the Diamond Lounge.  The feeling from the medical staff and coast guard was that he had internal injuries that required immediate attention that could not be taken care of on board.  We were only 3-4 hours away when we turned around and made it back to Texas waters when the helicopter met up.  Bars had to change back to "texas" menus.  Was also told that his wife was still on board as Coast Guard would not med-evac her in helicopter.  She would have been able to fly back from Cozymel- i don't know if she ended up getting off the ship then or not.

was amazingly organized and well run.  Announcements kept us in the loop at all times about what was happening. I also hope the man was OK
