  1. My DW and I have done 2 RC cruises and 2 others. We have from the beginning dress up for the formal nights because we enjoy it. I don't know how serious they are about dress codes anymore. If you want to wear a gown please do. I am sure it will be beautiful and you and your husband will have wonderful photos of the memories.

    Enjoy your cruise!

  2. A balcony on cruise ship is one of the most relaxing place's I can think of. Great place for sail away, sailing into port and just sitting with your feet up reading or watching the ocean go by. Enjoy it! As someone else said be careful of the door and watch having your balcony door and cabin door open at the same time. It can create a big wind tunnel. We also booked a balcony on our second cruise after having an oceanview on our first. We got hooked and haven't booked anything else since.. Beware it is addicting.. lol

  3. We were on the Regal this month in D610. Nice cabin and close to Laundromat. Muster station was 2 decks down in Crown Grill.

Central elevators close and back elevators with stairs also close. Room was quiet.

If you sit on balcony it has a nice view straight out, but if you look down the vision is life boats. We sat out there to read and have a few drinks. Chairs will face each other to accomplish this with table in between, still plenty of room to enjoy balcony.

Lots of storage in room with bedside tables and desk with extra drawers.

we did nor use all the space. Small shelves on side of cabinet with fridge.

Two separate outlets on desk for charging.

we used shaver plug to place night lite and that worked out well at night without turning on big light. Shower stall has shelf to place personal items.

ship is beautiful and staff were helpful , pleasant and made our cruise wonderful.

Give Alfredo's a try.....excellent pizza and staff. Outriggers bar is also a nice area on Lido deck aft to enjoy the view or just relax.

Thank you very much for the wonderful information you gave us. We booked this trip with friends, they are booked in a cabin 2 down from us. We used their Travel Service and I didn't do as much research on cabins as I had in the past. I am always happy on a cruise but your insight and info was so helpful. I had been wondering about the view from the balcony. Looking at pictures I didn't know how much of the lifeboats we would see sitting on the balcony. Sounds like our sight lines are ok looking out to the sea. We will be sure to try Alfedo's. I had thought from the pictures that there were two outlets at the desk but you verified it.

Can't wait until September to see all this for ourselves.

Thanks again for your response to our question.

Glad you had a wonderful experience on the Regal. I bet we will too.

  4. Hello all,

Does anyone have any insight or opinions on Cabin D531 on the Regal Princess? Not worried just curious.

Already booked and really looking forward to seeing this ship. It will be our first time on Princess.

    Thanks and Happy Cruising

  5. You didn't say which port you where asking about. As others have advised the Bahamas port Forum is a great place for information.

Below is what we did on our latest stops in the Bahamas. Hope this helps

In Nassau we booked the town tour that included the Queen's Staircase and ended at the Pirate Museum. Having it to do over the tour was great but the Museum not so much. In any new port we try and do a tour to see what is around. On our next stop we have a better idea of what we would like to and not to do.

Freeport there is nothing around the dock area. You dock in an industrial area. We did as others advised and took the taxi to Lucaya. Lots to do there and if like our trip a very exciting Taxi Ride to and from.

    Enjoy and Happy Cruising

  6. When I send a quick thank you for a post it is mostly to show appreciation to the OP for taking the time to share their experience. I have learned a great deal from the knowledgeable people here on CC.

  7. We are on the Regal in September. Both my wife and I use CPAP's. I have watched cabin videos, looked at cabin pictures and ask questions. On the Regal it seems they have outlets at the desk which is beside the bed.

We travel alot and I have 2-6foot extension cords I always bring along so I have lots of options on how I am going to connect our CPAPS's. I have a great little travel surge strip that works great on land. Am working on getting something similar with no surge protections for on ships.

    Hope this helps

  8. We need to renew our passports for the first time and have a couple of questions for you who have done this.

Did you print the renewal form out on line?

How did you send it; insured, registered, what?

Can we send both of our passports in the same envelope (with two forms) and do we need separate checks for the fee?

Anyone feel weird about sending that important of a document in the mail and not knowing if it gets there OK or what if something happens to it?

    Thanks!

Hello. First let me assure you I was very apprehensive in doing our passport renewal recently. Also let me tell you it all worked out fine in the end. Here is what we did:

Went to https://travel.state.gov/content/passports/en/passports/renew.html and printed out form DS-82 from there. Make sure you read the top of the page with the questions. If you can't answer yes to all the questions you have to apply in person at a passport agent (post office or such)/

We sent both applications, old passports and payment for each inside their own envelope inside a bigger shipping package we got at walmart. I read this suggestion on a site about passport renewal.

I mailed them priority mail with tracking as suggested on the gov. site.

Yes I too felt weird sending them but again it is done every day and tracking helped take the worry away. I just told the clerk at the post office I wanted to be able to track the envelope and get receipt verification and he took care of it. May cost a few dollars more but worth it in my opinion.

We got our new Passports in about 3 1/2 weeks and our old passports a few days later.

All in all I think I over worried the process. I do understand your questions and concern. I had the same ones a couple months ago. lol:)

    Good luck and Happy Cruising

  9. Fantastic! Husband measured carefully, filled in the stats online when ordering, and indeed his tux with two pressed, white shirts was waiting for him in the cabin. Couldn't have been easier, and it fit him well. We have some wonderful pictures from that night and all in all, excellent service. :)

Thanks to you also! What wonderful fellow cruise lovers you meet here. I didn't read about the 2 shirts so that is great info. Makes good sense if you have more then one formal night. I think I am going to do it and surprise my darling wife. Our son got married last year and she is taking her dress she bought for the wedding. I guess another wonderful night with her in that beautiful dress and I in a Tux might just happen. lol

  10. Hi my dh used them for our last cruise it was great. It alows for more space in your luggage. Formal have a measurement page on there web page so you can give them your measurements so you get the right size tux. The tux was waiting for us when we boarded and given to the room stewart the last night of the cruise.

The only thing that happened was the email confirmation i received confirming the rental went to my junk mail. So if you don't find it in your regular email then check there. Was pleased with the service and the price when we last rented was good compared to renting a tux on land. Will be using the service again this summer for a cruise in the Med. Hope this helps and you have a great cruise.:)

Thanks so much for your help. It always amazes me on this site all the wonderful people who share such good information!!

    Thanks again and Happy Cruising.
