This is good news as I was going to book X during that time. However, the itineraries have not been posted as yet? Only the Holiday 7 day. Where di you get your info?

Full Schedule for 2020/2021 is on an internet TA site but can not give out name per CC rules. Had booked Celebrity in Nov 2020 and hoped to do a b2b with Veendam but schedule does not work. Will have to drive home and stay a few days before returning to Veendam. No problem, I live in Tampa Bay!

The airport in FLL is a nightmare with very long lines to check in. I wouldn't do it if I were you.

We must be traveling from different airports. I have been traveling in and out of FLL for 20 years almost every month and rarely experienced long lines at checkout; fly Southwest. If you have pre TSA and Global Entry, it helps. But your ship arrives on Wenesday normally not a busy airport day and as I said earlier, your the only ship in port

I guess my only concern is where would they put the pier?  Thinking about it, it seems like any pier would have to be pretty long to reach the deeper water for the ships to dock.  If you have to walk a considerable distance I'm not sure it wouldn't prevent some disabled and physically challenged passengers from making a long walk to get on to the island.  I guess they would make it wide enough to accommodate some sort of shuttle to drive back and forth.  Has anybody seen a construction schedule?  I wonder how long and when the construction and completion will take.

Good question. If you have ever snorkeled at Grand Turk near the cruise ship, Carnival dug out a deep channel for the cruise ships. With the shallow water near HMC I expect another deep channel excavated near the island.

We were seated at lunchtime at a table in the Lido pool area, right next to the Taco Bar, which is self-serve.  It is also next to the Dive-In service window.   We watched a woman loading sour cream onto her plate, and when she was done, she licked the serving spoon and placed it back into the tub of sour cream.  Yuccch !!!

We told the Dive-In staff of this disgusting action.  They immediately removed the tub of sour cream and replaced it.  Some people are slobs, and you can't fix stupid.

Hello TAD2005, hope that did not happen on our South Pacific cruise in March19.

Things like this happen on every HAL cruise we take. I always notify staff of a problem. I am amazed that the staff doesn't see it first. In December 2018 I was having lunch in Lido when I saw this man get in the buffet line, no shoes, swim trunks and no shirt with a big hairy chest. Since I have been one of those lucky one's with the noro on a prior cruise I immediately went to Lido manager and told him get that guy out of here.

Not to change the subject but friends of mine asked me why I sail HAL since it is a much older crowd. Based on this tread, it sounds like a lot of children acting badly who don't know better :classic_ohmy:

    Thanks KK!

Actually I will be cruising on the Ruby Princess next week to Alaska and will be in Victoria on the same day as the Eurodam. While on board the Eurodam a couple of weeks ago I went to Guest Services and asked if I could board the ship in Victoria. The GS rep asked me, "Will you have any friends on board", which I replied, "the entire staff is my friend". I said I would like to dine at the Tamarind as long as the Ruby Princess is not sailing away into the sunset.

Hope you are able to board the Eurodam and if you dine at Tamarind, say hello to Fredy.

  6. The problem with late disembarkation off the  Eurodam was:

    1. 30 minutes late starting customs check of non US citizens on ship

    2. So many non US citizens.

    3. Once disembarkation started passengers with early flights got in line whether their color was called or not.   The terminal was a little disorganized.

Met someone with flight at 9:35 am. I doubt he made it

Was on the Oosterdam two weeks ago:

    No production show

    No chilled soups

    No smoked fish

$10 charge for an extra lobster tail

    No library

    No Explorations Cafe

Currently on Eurodam South Pacific cruise.

Though chilled soup is no longer on the menu, it is available. You have to ask your server what is the chill soup each night.

Also next to go, the band that supports the entertainers in the showroom. Only plays in showroom, no where else. One of the band members told me he did not know if HAL would renew their contracts.
