  1. I ran into this last cruise.

The line does not offer discounts.

Celebrity was sending emails on bid to move up to Aqua.

I did it last time for $410 on my cabin.

    This was through Celebrity site.

    This time.....

    I talked to my TA.

There were 4 of us in the group - two cabins.

She called Celebrity and we moved up to Aqua - the four of us in two separate Cabins.

    Only $110 total.

I don't know if your TA has that much clout with Celebrity - but mine did.

Oh...  We picked up $250 OBC per cabin.

Wow. I was hoping the drinks were the same as on Royal. Drinks between 5 and 7 pm are when we are dining... 😞

We've been thinking about less kids and more relaxed cruises so this topic caught my attention. I looked at Virgin some and earlier today was looking at Celebrity cruises.  I just looked at the Elite benefits and don't see anything that would lean us more toward Celebrity than starting out with a blank slate at another cruise line, so good to know. Sad but good to know.

We did cruise with Celebrity once about 10 years ago, a dream trip to Galapagos!

Call your TA and see about the inclusive packages Celebrity offers.

    Tips, Drinks, WiFi.

You never know till you ask the experts.

  3. If you are booked.

And Celebrity offers an email upgrade for $$$ on their meter.

    STOP.... Don't do it.

Get to your agent and have them check the prices for an upgrade.

And you know what the online one is - lowest amount.

The on-line Celebrity offer one was $150 per person.

I did this and we moved two cabins 3 cats up to Aqua Class....

    $110 total.

    Oh.

And I get the points for the Upgrade.

Using the email offer - no extra points.

    Just trying to be helpful.

Consider the deal broken for you.  There isn't any forward facing space one E-class ships for non-suite guests.

Well there are two areas forward facing on the Edge ships.

The workout room and the spa - bed area.

  5. They do have a few tournaments where the blinds are set and go up each 10 minutes.

I did not play in the regular games.

But just go with $100 and that should cover you.

I'm not thinking the blinds were crushing on the cash games.

  6. Like they have said - be first in the line to walk off ship with your luggage.

Friends I met on the boat did that.

We say them walking off - first in line.

Also be sure to check with airline on flight.

    Sometimes there are problems.

Fort Lauderdale should be no problem.

Other ports I'm not sure how close the airports are.

Of course, the first step should be to point out the matter to deck staff - who are frequently inclined to shrug it off.  Anyway, no one said anything about hiding anyone’s towel or book or whatever. Simply put them all on one of the row of loungers - than let the the hogs place their things where (and when) they have a right to have them on those places.

I do not let my nose get “bent out of shape “- I simply am not inclined to passively accept unacceptable behavior.

Reminder - Chair Hogs don't care what you think.

  8. Recently off the Apex.

I noted a few areas that seem hidden and little used.  The ship was not at full capacity.

    But...

    Here they are.

Deck 15 forward on port and starboard of the pool nice covered areas with lounge chairs.

Deck 15 aft of the pool on both the starboard and port sides are long areas with lounge chairs looking out to sea.  Some of this area is covered.

Deck 15 rooftop garden not many there during the day.

    Anyone else find some spots

I totally understand how you feel.  We've been living in lockdown for so long, especially those of you in NYC.  It felt very weird to be around that many people again, even though there were only 1000 passengers on our sailing at the beginning of February.  Have a great cruise!!  We loved the Edge!!

if you have a nice Aqua room and $600 OBC I would keep it.  No need to move to a suite as you could use the $700 difference on so many things.  But if you really want a suite, it does appear to be a good dollar deal as compared to others I have seen.

I'm holding onto my Aqua class cabin.

Unless they offer you more OBC stay there.

We will be sailing to Bermuda this July. I have done a Pacific crossing to HI and it was cold and windy for most of the sea days. Is Atlantic the same? We are sailing from NY. Trying to think about packing while winter clothes are on clearance. Winter here is mainly long sleeves.

    Ahhh... No.  Nice and warm.

    You will love Bermuda.

The only drawback is that you are out at dockyards.

    Way away from everything.
