  1. My husband and I both have the beverage package. Can one of us take BOTH cards to get 2 drinks? Say, for instance, when I am getting ready for dinner in the cabin, and he is ready, could he go and get 2 glasses of wine, and bring them back to our room?

  2. We are going early March (March 3) and I've been having the same thoughts.....but being from So Cal, and this year is NOTHING like last year (hardly any rain, and today is 80!!), it's pretty hard to predict. I'm thinking it will be coolish in San Pedro when we board, and probably the first (at sea) day. Expecting it to be 80-ish in Cabo, Mazatlan, and Puerto Vallarta. .

  3. Adagio=stuffed olives!

Nice bar/lounge with great martini's and at some point has a guitar player or a piano player etc.

    (check the Patter)

Out the aft door of Adagio for beautiful aft views/sunsets.

Bleu cheese stuffed olives??? My favorite with a dirty martini!!:cocktail:

  4. We will be cruising in March 2018 on the Ruby Princess to the Mexican Rivera (first time with Princess). We were looking forward to booking an independent whale watching company in Cabo, and was hoping to book online in advance, but have run into a couple of problems. First, since we are first time Princess cruisers, and Cabo is a tender port...well, you get the idea- we won't be off the ship any time soon. The companies I have looked into have booking times of 8-8:30, noonish, and then later in the afternoon. We are scheduled to leave Cabo at 2 PM.

Has anyone done the ship's excursion? I know it will be MUCH more crowded than an independent company, but I don't know what other options we will have. Or should we just get off the tender and find someone there? That seems a little scary to me, as we like to investigate a company online (reviews, etc.) before we book.

    Any thoughts are appreciated. :)

  5. For those that have been there, do you need to make a reservation for the day pass, or can you just walk in and pay that day?

I would love to go back. When I was 12-13, my family spent a vacation there. Not that I knew about him then, but my mom says Rock Hudson was staying there as well, and she saw him on the beach!!

  6. I am thinking about an Asian cruise ex Singapore returning to Singapore and looking at the drink packages and they include up to $10 therefore if I want a cocktail and its say $13 do I have to pay the $13 or just $3 or do they have a premium package that I can't see yet as I haven't booked yet?

Also is it $59 USD or AUD

I have only travelled Celebrity before using their premium package and it covered up to $14 so I never paid any extra.

I am a Princess newbie also, and had the same question regarding any alcoholic drinks over $10 (do we just pay the difference?). I've researched the Princess website, but can't find anything about it. Hopefully, someone can answer this for us!

  7. Mom was really intrigued by these trees that was sprouting flowers. No one knew what kind of tree it was, and until now she does not know. Any help?

I'm almost sure this is plumeria

Yes, definitely plumeria. We have quite a few in our yard in So Cal, but I love the white ones the best!! That's what the Hawaiians use to make leis. They smell wonderful!!

  8. Love your review!! We have never been on Princess, but will do so in the future. We are soon to be retired, and live in So California. Princess has so many options from the West Coast (NO AIR FARE=MORE CRUISES, on a retirement budget)! We have done a few Mexican Rivera cruises, but I'm sure we will be back to Cabo, and loved the tip about the resort. Thx!! Oh, and GO BRUINS!! (our son graduated in 2010!)

  9. Another vote of thanks for your review and comparisons. We started our cruising career with RCCL and most recently have cruised Celebrity exclusively, also being Elite. We also live in So California, and are mourning the loss of Celebrity ships on this side of the US. So yes, we will more than likely switch to Princess for their West Coast itineraries, while trying to make our retirement $ last for as many cruises as we want.

  10. I looked through all the threads I could find before starting this one. We will be in Boston on Oct. 1 this year from 7am-4pm. Have just a couple of questions for the cruisers familiar with the Boston trolley (the green and orange one). It picks up cruisers at 18A. Are there a lot of people waiting for trolleys, or does the trolley company have several at this stop at 9am? Also, will it be very hard to get back on one to return to the ship mid-afternoon? I am not opposed to grabbing a taxi if I need to to get back to the ship. How long would a taxi ride from, say, Boston Commons take? Also, how long would it take to walk the Freedom Trail from approximately Paul Revere's house to Boston Commons. Thanks in advance for your replies.

I know this is too late for you, but I hope it may help others that are considering this company. We got tickets online for our Sept. 22 stop in Boston on the Celebrity Summit. We took the short trolley trip from Stop 18A into town, near Stop #1. We walked around Quincy Market before heading across the street to board the trolley for the city tour. There was already a very long line, in fact, it took over 1 hr. to board a trolley. Once we "hopped on", we were afraid to "hop off" wondering if we would ever get a bus that had room. Our driver stopped multiple times for people waiting, just to tell them that he was full. No one got off our trolley, for the same reason, I'm sure. There were 3 ships in port that day, don't know if that had anything to do with it, but maybe they need to limit the number of tickets they sell, so everyone can have the experience that their website describes. They do have a 100% guarantee, and since coming home, I have requested a refund. I was very dissappointed.

  11. I disagree on times square area, so much in walking distance we do NYC every year for about 4 days and many years do not ever get in a taxi or subway

Broadway shows- went to 5 great play in 5 days in May

    Rockefeller center

Some real great Jazz such as Birdland

    Great restaurants and bars

    Central park

Also normally street festivals in the area

Not saying I do not love rest of the city but love this area

I have never been to NY, and my husband went once as a teenager. So....we are doing lots of touristy things (theater, Rockefeller Center, biking in Central Park, 911 Memorial, Circle Line cruise). We have our days planned out, with breakfast places, pizza, and a deli on the agenda. We plan on walking to most places, with a subway ride here or there. Also, very interested in walking in TS, just for the experience. Can't fit everything in that we wanted to see, will just have to make another trip.

  12. We are spending a few days in New York next week prior to our cruise and wanted to go to Carnegie Deli. Their website says it is closed due to "upgrading their energy supply lines".

Any recommendations for another NY deli if they are still closed when we get there?

  13. Our next cruise is in honor of our 30th wedding anniversary, and you can bet our door will be decorated! In our 10+ cruises, I have decorated maybe 2-3 times. It's usually for a very special occasion, and of course, I clean up when we leave, and never use anything that mars the door. Like others said, it makes us happy to see the decorated door!!

  14. Love visiting Mast Grill on embarkation day rather than crowding into the buffet!

We did that exact thing last year when we did a Pacific Coastal on Century! If there is a Bistro on Five, that's where we head, otherwise it's the Mast Grill. HATE the buffet on embarkation day....
