How does self-disembarkation work on MSC meraviglia? How soon after docking can you leave the ship?

Maybe they only change the shows twice a year. We never buy anything on the ship except for internet. The charge by the amount of data is much better than by the minute as on most other cruise lines.

Five of the six in our group are vegetarians, so for them food is ok to very good.

I personally prefer Holland America.Classical music concerts every night, much better food than MSC, smaller ships, generally better service.

Our teenagers love the water slides, shows and other sports activities. We have dinner in Olivo D’oro, excellent waiter service, food sometimes very good, sometimes needs improvement.  Overall the ship is beautiful, and  similar to Royal Caribbean - the focus is the indoor shopping mall. We liked the Seaside better because of the extensive outdoor spaces.

In what way is it bad? We are traveling with three teenagers and they are loving it.

It is round trip, to the old port. But I think it is only for passengers staying on the ship.

In Marseille MSC is charging 15.99 euros per person. Taxi is 15-20 euros each way.

MSC is charging 8.99 euros per person for the shuttle in Barcelona. Taxi for up to 4 people is 8 to 10 euros.

Thanks for the great review. Do you recall how much MSC wanted for their shuttle bus to Marseille?

Also, what did it cost for your taxi from the old port back to the ship?

For anyone recently off Meraviglia: What time did Meraviglia arrive at Civitavecchia? The scheduled arrival is 7:00 AM.

HoHo in Malta is right at the port.

Does anyone have photos of the bunk beds in 4 person cabins on MSC ships? Meraviglia if possible, but any MSC ship would be OK.

As harola mentioned, the waiters (I do not know if they were or were not from Indonesia….) sang me happy birthday, brought me a cake and made a lot of noise clanging together the plastic plate covers at dinner. It was very embarrassing. I asked very explicitly twice, including when I walked into dinner that night, that a big deal NOT be made about my birthday and I asked my cake to be brought to my room. I am disappointed that my request was not honored. I did not eat in the dining room for the rest of the cruise.

Just  reading through your wonderful posts. Do yo recall if the main dining rooms were open for lunch on port days?

Were there taxis at the cruise port?

Barcelona and Genoa are the principal embarkation ports, although you can embark at any port. So some people will be on and off at each one, but not 4000. We embarked in Palermo and it seemed only a handful did along with us.
