  1. I would call or email them and get a quote for the number of people you are anticipating.  They can then tell you how much the extra half hour is.  We went with the Platinum package and for the extra half hour for our group, it was $2400.  I couldn't justify spending that on 30 minutes.  There is a large group on a social media page for Carnival Cruise Brides that has tons of info too.

  2. I am from Michigan, planning an embarkation wedding in february 2020! Thank you for creating this thread, i'm excited to see your replies as i am a bit nervous myself... TBest of luck to you and thank you again....... :)

You are about 20 minutes north of me! I live in Birch Run. Things are moving along. I am very much a planner. I created a rough draft of a welcome letter already and am working on swag bags. The wedding guests are up to 120 from 6 states who are all sailing. I'm not sure the swag bags will be what I'd hope, because we have so many guests. I was hoping for monogrammed beach bags, but I may have to scale that back.

  3. We loved #7! I'm kind of partial because we got engaged there on Thanksgiving last year. I have mobility issues and struggle with walking in the sand, and it was not a long walk to the bathroom but I struggled because it's all sand. It wasn't crowded at all in front of our cabana and the ship was full that week. We couldn't hear the music all that well, but it was a short walk if we wanted to. I had FTTF and went straight to the excursions desk when we boarded the ship and a few were already taken but I still had a decent amount. A lady in line behind me said she wanted a specific cabana and would be very upset if she didn't get it. I peeked at the map behind the counter while we were waiting and could see what was available, so I asked her which one she was inquiring about and she refused to tell me for fear I would take it. I literally laughed out loud. She did get her wish and it was cabana number 9. YouTube has a good video of a cabana walking tour.

  4. I am getting married on Grand Turk Nov 21st and reception on the Conquest. We have about 50 people cruising with us and I have started making swag bags. I got an amazing deal on koozies, plastic cups and bags from totallypromotional.com

I got 25 custom printed bags, 100 double sided stadium cups, 50 double sided koozies and koozies for the wedding party for $165

I will add our thank you and welcome brochure, some fun nautical jewelry, snacks and our thank you gift along with the cups and koozies to the bags.

Thanks for the tip! I'll check into them!

  5. Just a tip, but I found a post on the Carnival wedding site on social media that states they will give a 10% military discount for active duty or veterans (must be bride or groom). This has to be done at the same time as your contract. I just sent in the DD214. It's saving us close several hundred dollars! Hopefully some of you can use this information to save some money!

  6. Are you sure you can have that many people? We got married on the Magic last year and we could only have 50! Also bring your own photographer. Mine was awful and quit half way through the cruise. Like he got off at one of the ports and never came back. Our pictures were terrible. Another photographer took over and gave them to me a deep discount

Yes, we can have that many people but it's expensive.:o Thanks for the photographer tip, we had been debating on that! I am so sorry yours was terrible!! :(

  7. I was super excited to see a Jamman review of the Magic when I went searching! We just booked the Magic for Jan 18, 2020 for our wedding. I told my fiance' who isn't on CC that you posted a magic review and he knew immediately who you were because I raved about your other reviews in the past! Tell Patty thanks for the awesome pics of Vibe, as that's where our reception will be and I hadn't found very good pics online!

  8. My fiancé and I were engaged in HMC on Thanksgiving. We just booked our wedding on the Magic for January 18, 2020. We chose the embarkation option, to encroach less on our guest's vacation. We were hoping to have 50 people cruising with us, but we are currently at about 85 people. I chose the DJ option and the Carnival Platinum package. We believe we'll have about 100 people. I know it's a long ways out, but I'm a planner. I've started our welcome letter and was thinking about making door decorations and swag bags. Is there anything you wish you'd have done differently, or tips you have for other brides? Our entourage is coming mostly from Michigan, so we'll be flying into FLL but a few people will drive.

  9. :loudcry:

I've been waiting many years for that first honest post of

"My children are such monsters that Grandma won't even watch them."

I'm not going to lie. My 10 year old is sketchy. When he is with his soon-to-be step brother who is 13, forget it. They can be MONSTERS! We don't leave them at home alone, let alone on a ship. We left them with our 20 year old daughter to go out with friends a few months ago, and ending up having to come home early because they were tormenting her and wouldn't listen. I certainly wouldn't let them roam the ship unsupervised. With that being said, my older two sons have been cruising since they were very young and when they were the same age, I often let them go places on the ship unsupervised as long as they stuck together. This is an individual choice based upon maturity and behavior. :)

  10. Congrats on your wedding, and WOW at all the people coming. We had roughly 45 attend our wedding.

Carnival recently changed their packages, so a lot of the info I could give you regarding that would be slightly outdated, however, I would just stay in constant contact with the company. Always ask questions, and sometimes, you may get 3 different answers. If you have any specifics, please feel free to ask. Also, I believe the Magic will no longer be in Port Canaveral at that time, so I might not be able to give any help with your embarkation port either. I have a thread that was more specific to our wedding, if you'd like to read through that a little as well.

Thanks! I'll look for your link. :)

  11. May I ask how many guests you'll have? I booked with the last package and just got married last week...I'm sure it's too late now, but I'm wondering what the difference would be. I spoke to someone in the wedding department who told me that the new package price is just for the first 20 guests. She couldn't give me a price per person for additional guests and was a little cryptic.

We had 45 people, so it would have been more than the new package price for just 20, but we paid $16 per person for food and the $16 per person for drinks, which are now included.

We had a good time, but one hour for the reception went very fast!! Do the hour and a half if you can.

I just booked the Classic Platinum package and they told me for additional people beyond the 20 it would be $40 for adults and $26 for kids 16 and under.
