  1. Searched and can't find any recent posts....are beers on tap at District Brewhouse included on beverage package within $ Limit? We are very excited as beer snobs to check this place out! Anyone have any recent info or details? I can't seem to find many posts or reviews!

  2. Are free beach and pool chairs available? Is there shade? How long of a walk would you guess to get to the pool and beach! Asking for some in our party with health issues.

  3. Does NCL ever offer a deal on soda package for kids? We have the UBP for my husband and I as a booking perk, but not soda for kids. Trying to save any bit of $ I can this year so any advice on earning on board credits or discounts would be appreciated!

  4. How far in advance did the ports get switched? Could that decision be made as late as during the cruise? I've been hoping something would change for Cozumel as there are 5 big ships in port next Friday when we are there. I'm afraid the resorts will be super crowded. We made a reservation at Mr Sanchos but that doesn't mean they won't reached capacity of 450 and be uncomfortably crowded. So they've been switching Belize and Costa maya? 1st and 3rd days?

  5. I see your point about not requiring much to make the changeover except for Flamingo was really open seating and buffet style with several entry points to that area. I can see that those would be minor changes though. I'm happy to hear that it is included in the specialty dining package -my mother-in-law booked the Haven and specialty dining package came with her booking that but we never had it before so I didn't really know how it works. Sounds like maybe one meal per day maybe. More research to do before next weekend!

Surely someone is going to be just off today and can post a reply. I'll be looking in others threads - someone update here if you see anything!

  6. Hoping someone can answer because we sail on the 5th too and it was our favorite spot morning and afternoon! I just want to know. How do they make a change like this anyway I'll be so mad if this area isn't flamingo or margaritaville. I've never seen an area under construction on a cruise, but how would they make that change with back to back cruises all the time? I would be REALLY upset if nothing was open there, because it's the best spot to grab a snack or drink or coffee on the pool deck.

If it is changed over, does anyone know if margaritaville would be included on the specialty dining plan?

  7. Is the water rough on the ferry to goff's.?

The ferry ride in to Belize isn't bumpy is it?

My daughter fractured 2 vertebra so we have to avoid anything like that with any impact. Past excursions didn't get rough until way out at sea so I think know we are ok...we have been to belize just never noticed because it wasn't a issue!

  8. We are considering little french key after having to cancel a different snorkel tour in roatan. Our daughter recently fractured vertebra in her spine while rock climbing. The bouncing up and down on a boat would be bad. What is the short boat ride like over to little french key? We will probably just do tabyana beach break to be safe and get good beach/snorkel time, but have heard such great things about LFK I just want to know if it's an option.

    TIA!

  9. Thanks for posting - this is a big difference form the offerings a year ago! I am very disappointed - to have only one option for a chardonnay or cabernet is a big let down. I actually do like the one cab that's offered by the glass, but not the chardonnay! It's absurdly limiting too because that's all that anyone can choose - UBP or not! Many people enjoy one glass of wine with dinner and do not want an entire bottle - There are plenty of lower cost wines that would allow NCL to keep cost down, but still offer options. Shame on them! I would hope this doesn't last. If wine was the only thing I drank I would certainly not pay for the UBP.

  10. I have searched everywhere on CC and the internet and cannot find a definitive answer to my question. We have a Haven 2 bedroom family suite on the Getaway for our family of 6. I am trying to figure out if the 2nd bedroom is a double sleeper sofa or if there's a bed that comes down from the ceiling. I did read in one place that it's a double sleeper sofa so pretty sure about that one. In the living room though all I can find is information that says single sleeper sofa, but I know it sleeps 6, and there are 6 of us registered in the room, so I am trying to determine if maybe there is an upper bed that folds out of the wall/ceiling in the living room. We have stayed in cabins with these before.

Can anyone tell me for certain? And yes, I know it will be crowded, but that's OK. It's just my husband and I and our kids - 3 teens and an 11 year old. They will do nothing in the room except sleep :) We are just trying to nail down sleeping partners - we have been on too many trips where we don't know the layout in advance and then the kids stand around arguing about who sleeps where. If we know ahead they can work in out before we go and everyone is happy!

Thanks for any info - and pictures would be awesome too! I have found many pictures of the suite - but all just show the sofas as sofas not beds.

  11. We were pleasantly surprised last April on the Getaway that staff walked around by 10 or 11 and then all day, placing stickers on chairs with the time. If they walked by 20 minutes or so after stickers time and chairs were still vacant, they moved the stuff. Even on spring break we didn't have much trouble getting chairs all day. THIS YEAR WE ARE IN THE HAVEN BUT I WILL STILL WANT TO BE BY THE BIG POOL ON DECK! I HOPE THIS IS BECOMING MORE COMMON PRACTICE?

Sorry for shouting...typing on a mobile device..

  12. We are looking for an excursion in roatan similar to an amazing day in St marten. We want a day on the water around roatan....in st marten we spent the day on a boat with another family and stopped to snorkel and swim several places. We also pulled up and swam to shore for lunch at a beach restaurant. Drinks were provided all day.it wasn't a fancy boat -- fast and bumpy no bathroom. Our guide knew exactly where to take us for snorkeling and gave us great history and information of the island. It was the best excursion we have done and I've looked EVERYWHERE for something similar in roatan. We have been on land and to beaches there, and we're hoping for something different.

    Any suggestions?

  13. Based on what you said Your 7 year old will love the getaway! The ship has so much to offer too besides the pool that she will love...mini golf ropes etc and the 2 smaller slides too! You have to be 100 pounds for the larger drop slide and I doubt your 7 year old qualifies 😊

I will say though the pool situation stinks for older kids and teens. We couldn't believe there was nowhere that we could swim with my 13 and 11 year old besides the sponge Bob pool lol. I guess NCL figures the slides are for that age but they like to swim too. Luckily they got lots of ocean time when in ports. That was our only complaint though otherwise we loved the getawayand are sailing again on her this year.

They had reggae band as well as others by the pool in April 2015...adult and kid pool are side by side with slides between...very loud as all pool decks are.

    Hope you love it!

  14. How far in advance would someone need to ask ncl to put it in the freestyle and how would we go about doing that?? We were just planning to have our own sunrise service for our family group of 10....we have an ordained elder and someone to play guitar and sing amongst our family and would love to have others to join us! Do you think if I called ncl they would be beasier able to tell me if someone else has planned anything or is this the kind of thing you would need to check into once on board.

  15. Our favorite beach is Sapphire. The views are amazing and the colors of the water are beautiful. We have spent land vacations there and are going back in March while on a cruise. Chair rentals are $9, the Banana Cabana has food & drinks, the dive shop has some options too. There are also runners that take food and drink orders. Plus, Red Hook is also close by (about 3/4 of a mile)-- there are several fun bars/restaurants there to have a drink or a bite to eat.

Emerald Beach is pretty too-- more amenities than Sapphire and closer to the port. Either one will be a great beach day. Have fun.

Please post an update or message me after your march cruise if you go to sapphire! We are hoping to spend a day at sapphire beach in April and i just want to be sure they have plenty of chairs and food and drink servi ceand bathrooms? It sounds like they discontinued service for a while. Also how long it takes by taxi from NCL dock.our ships sails at 4 :(

Thanks! We see the a day at sapphire in 2008 and it was our favorite beach day of anywhere we have been Because of the amazing views.

  16. Our entire group aged 8 to 65 has enjoyed collecting passport stamps wherever we go.

On a different but related note....can someone tell me if we have to have passports to get off the ship in St marten or st thomas? I continue to read conflicting things. we cruised to mexico, Belize and roatan last year with just birth certificates. I thought I was clear on this but recently read an excursion in St marten now requires a passport?

    Hope you get your stamps
