I have now decided that Princess is not the place if you are in the witness protection program as they display everyone’s name on the digital screen outside cabin doors.

You an go to Guest Services and ask that it does not display name or photo - re photo, you can do as we did and upload photos of pets (or anything, in good taste please) for your "public" photo.

  2. We have settled into Princess being our go-to cruiseline over the past 15+ years and have pretty much been happy with each cruise. There are enough activities for us, along with music options, although we also enjoy just hanging out on our balcony playing cribbage on sea days.

We were on the Coral (sister to Island) in Alaska in 2018 and loved the ship! While I know many don't like that the Island added cabins to the aft of the Promenade deck, cutting off the Promenade and taking out the Universal Lounge, I think you'll still have a "smaller ship" experience.

And the itinerary looks awesome, hope you enjoy!

I don’t own any formalwear! I will be sure to report on how I survive amidst the ballgowns and sequins.
Have I ever mentioned my dislike of sequins in both crafts and clothing? It is significant.

While those who enjoy dressing up for formal nights do so, you won't be out of place (and no one will care) if you stick to the "smart casual" suggestion. A friend saw a rumor on another forum that they may be doing away with "formal nights" alltogether soon!

Has never bothered me, but most Deck 9 cabins with balconies on Royal Class ships still have a view of the lifeboats when looking straight out.

Princess ships pretty much use the same template for activities as of late.  The production shows, theatre performances, and enrichment changes, but everything else is the status quo.

Nope, no lifeboat view from either balcony that we had. Maybe you are thinking of Deck 8?

  5. We did a B2B on Enchanted last February - 20 days! We had to change cabins as the 2nd leg was booked months before the first, but both were on Deck 9. First we had a Deluxe Balcony forward (Deluxe Guarantee was the only balcony option by the time we booked it) and the 2nd leg was a regular balcony just aft of the aft elevators - chose that one because it has the larger balcony. Often walked down to Deck 7, often walked up the two flights, too.

  6. We just use the clear packing tape - a long piece folded over each side, than taped together after putting through the bag handle. Never have had a problem! We always fly a day early, so they go on the next morning before we leave the hotel.

Not my photo but my Mother is currently on the Enchanted and it should be opened mid week IMG_4830.thumb.jpeg.60197c06005be15263332bcdf74720d7.jpeg

😭 The jazz in Take 5 was so nice to listen to each night. It was full most of the time, and the bar staff was great!

  8. The OP referenced "security" lines, which I took to mean the scanners that you and your carryons go through, didn't say anything about CBP. I don't know if 500 people arrive on the train at the same time, but do remember lots of buses whose arrival tines seemed to be staggered.

In February we boarded the Enchanted at Port Everglades - when we arrived around 11 there were long lines outside the terminal. We soon learned that while the process had started and a some people had boarded, it was soo shut down while local police (and maybe Customs?) were searching the ship. We waited over 90 minutes before we started moving and then once through security had to wait another hour or so - both Blue and Green lanes! Princess had nothing to do with the delay...

  9. If your phone supports wi-fi calling, she can call you directly if you are connected to the internet. You can also use messenging apps (e.g., WhatsApp, Messenger) with her. If you don't use either options there is a number to contact the ship as mentioned above, it may be in your Travel Summary, too?

If a person has a pace maker can he use the medallion?

As noted above, should be no problem. DH uswd his with lanyard, was more than 6 inches from pacemaker, or could put on belt loop or wrist. He was also told that the security scanners are not a problem as long as he doesn't stop in it.

But check with your cardiologist or device manufacturer.
