  1. Big difference. The non Princess picks you up and drops you off only at Waikiki hotels. Your ship is in Honolulu and they will not pick you up or drop you off at the ship.

    Princess has a contract with

Germaine's Luau that they will not pick up at the ship and therefore not the same. Don't you think Princess know the price and know that you cannot get the identical for a cheaper price.

  2. The post is titled ‘warning’. If you don’t believe the OP’s account of what happened, then don’t take the warning. I don’t really understand why people feel the need to dispute someone else’s experience simply because it hasn’t happened to them.

Do you believe everything you read on the WEB?????????

Do you think everything that someone post is in fact true??????

  3. How TSA operates changes constantly. Think about it. :)

But by law they have nothing to do with drugs unless they are liquid.

I have travels a lot with pills in the seven day boxes and never had a problem with TSA. I never saw anyone have problem with pills and TSA.

Tell me how TSA knows if a pill bottle that looks like it is from a pharmacy really is? Are you suggesting that TSA should pull aside all people and call the pharmacy to make they are real?

I can print out labels if you want. I can also print out a prescription with a docs signature that you can't read.

Tell me how TSA knows a bottle of vitamins contain vitamins and not heroin?

  4. Thanks, martincath. I do know we are going back a few years, and although she was and is a trusted member here, her name escapes me. I do believe her. She said her elderly mother was very shaken and rattled and I guess that always stuck with me.

Donray, you can blame it on my "chemo brain" if you want. I do not recall things easily these days, I'm afraid.

    .

Again, do you believe everything you read on the internet?

  5. "Well, just because no one has ever asked you does not mean it will never happen or hasn't happened to others. I feel it is wise to be cautious and organized. I have read on these boards more than once about TSA agents who were a little over-zealous. One member here tells the story of an agent dumping her elderly mother's pills out all over the counter. Disgusting. That was enough for me to always keep my meds in their labelled containers (and yes, I know the agents could argue the contents but that's probably highly unlikely)."

People do believe everything they read on the internet.

Since you believe it is true could you tell us the airport and the name of the TSA agent?

  6. OP should get the documents to match. Either go by the name on the BC and change the DL. OR, change the BC to match the BC if you go by the name on the BC. Having this difference will be an issue if you get a passport and when you go to collect Social Security.

You need all the names to match. What you go by, your BC, and your DL.

  7. from travel . state. gov:

Apply early for your passport, or make sure your current passport will be valid at least six months beyond your travel dates and has two or more blank pages. Though some “closed-loop” cruises may not require a U.S. passport, we recommend bringing yours in case of an emergency, such as an unexpected medical air evacuation or the ship docking at an alternate port in an emergency. Your cruise company may also require you to have a passport even if U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) does not require it.

You either need to renew your passport, or bring your Driver's license and birth certificate.

The above is bad info. If you can use a birth certificate and driver license then your passport is good to get back into the USA until in expires.

  8. Yes. Good point. And for those who only want tables for 2 and not to socialize with fellow pax then river cruising is not for you.

Been on 5 river cruises and would rather have a table for two. So, I guess you are wrong.

  9. Hello,

My husband and I are taking the Provence to Barcelona AMA Waterways cruise in June. We will be traveling standby on flights to and within Europe so we will need to pack in carry-on luggage. We won't have room to pack many dressy items and are wondering if jeans are acceptable for dinners on the ship.

    Thank you for any insight,

    Karen

Why would you ware heavy jeans?? Buy light weight travel pants that you can have three pairs for the same weight as one pair of jeans. They would be more acceptable for dinner and walking around in the heat.

  10. Just returned from a wonderful Med cruise. While in Rome someone was able to use a reader to get by cc number while it was in my purse. The card was NEVER out of my possession. Luckily my cc company shut the card down but we had to go through the hassle of getting emergency money set by the cc company to western union, they could have sent me an emergency card but since I didn't have a physical address because we were on a ship they so they couldn't send a card. I did have a another credit card by it charges a foreign conversion rate plus a huge fee for a cash advance. So just wanted to warn other look into the metal cc cases or perhaps I have hear wrapping your card in foil may work.

What tap and go cards do you use? There are very few RFID cards. Most of the cards you need to insert in a machine. Visa PayWave, MasterCard PayPass, American Express ExpressPay and Discover Zip. These programs represent different forms of tap and go technology, and they all function the same way. Some local banks will also offer RFID credit cards, provided through one of the programs mentioned above.

Bet you not have a RFID credit card and no one read your card.

  11. Donray,

I had a friend I was suppose to cruise with on Carnival. She broke her arm and couldn't go and if I wanted the room I had to pay a 150% markup. It came to over $500 more then her and I in the room.

Totally different then what I was discussing. This was a person not showing up and then the other person in the room that is going does not pay more money.

I your case I bet the person cancelled and got money back.
