  1. You'll see a few boards scattered around the ship, that shows how quickly the dinning rooms are filling up. I highly recommend making you SDP reservations on Myncl.com before boarding. You can reserve as soon as 90 days before embarkation.

I can reserve them now (65 days out) just hard to commit that far out for us :)

  2. We bought a 5 night SDP package for our upcoming cruise in April.

We have 3 on our booking but are travelling with 3 other groups. Figuring out what we want now is hard enough let alone trying to co-ordinate with the others.

How hard is it to book on board? Ive read something about lights? how does that work?

    Thanks in advance.

  3. that inbound connecting flight into Atlanta could be delayed for any of the above reasons... not just the outbound airports need to be considered.

One other is Hartsfield is a massive airport, your gates could be a ways apart, no matter if its same airline or not

  4. Yes, it does!

For our Epic cruise, I bought a bunch of OBC to use on the ship for $1 tips, souvenirs.

This time on the Escape, I am going to book our excursion through NCL so I get the better exchange rate on that too.

That way I only need US cash for any taxis and meals pre-cruise at the hotel or post-cruise at the airport

oh and thanks for the help

  5. making an assumption here, but I assume it is safe...

if the price drops etc and I would have to cancel and re-book I am subject to any new exchange rates?

I like the fact that I know what my credit purchases before hand are going to be on my CC, not a fluctuating rate...

and happy its 1.19... wish it was 1.11;)

  6. being caught up in the United grounding today I couldnt help but think of travel that I wasn't getting paid for.

we always fly in the night before at the latest...

you just never know, direct or with connections:)

  7. Didn't know about this option before booking (was a present so wasn't involved ;) )

But changed over yesterday, had to cancel and re-book at 1.19... was no problem but the CC rate and fees of about 1.26-27 depending will save

Going to buy a bunch of OBC too.

Definitely made my day, thanks for the thread:)

  8. what I am looking at is this example, just for clarity i'll use round numbers.

If I buy 1000.00 in the OBC from ncl.com in certificates that will cost me Just under 1200.00 Canadian funds.

If I spent 1000.00 on the cruise my credit card would show a charge of 1300.00.

So by doing so I would save 100.00 which IMO any savings is good savings.

Now... on that cruise if I only spent 800.00, leaving 200.00 in OBC that 200 would be mailed out? or is it gone?

  9. Booked in Canadian funds and to avoid any additional fees on board we are looking at adding OBC certificates to the booking before we sail (about 9 cents on the dollar saved).

Question is, if there is a remaining balance at the end of the cruise does this get sent via check (cheque :)) or another way?

any tips or other help in other ways to save via exchange rate is much appreciated

  10. Totally new to NCL as you can see coming over from Carnival.

Totally unfamiliar with the website, we just booked the Getaway for April 2016 and was just wanting to look through some options

When do they normally open up to book? From what I can see it is blank now under excurions, I guess I am just looking too far out

  11. anewmac Loved ur review, we are booking soon for this exact same cruise for March of 2015! So now u really have me excited!

Excellent, glad I could add to the excitement. Enjoy the cruise.

lyndamr Great review and thank you, still debating whether to go on the Breeze, guess I just waiting for a special. lol

The price dropped four our cruise 150 or so from time of booking, nothing astronomical, but any little bit helps. Hope you find one. Thanks.

Nice review. I was on the Breeze right before you, on May 3rd sailing (6 nights). I loved sailing on her (great service and very nice ship design). I also loved the lido deck without the stadium set up and also loved that they added another deck with padded loungers. I'd love to do the Aruba itinerary on Breeze for next May but right now prices are very high in my opinion. For now, I'm booked on RCI's Adventure of the Seas out of San Juan for a slightly different Aruba itinerary for a lot lower, but if I see price drops for Breeze to Aruba, I will switch.

I loved the seating options, Those loungers can get uncomfortable after a while. The prices are pretty steep, enjoy hour cruise. THanks.

Great review and pictures! Thanks for taking the time to post. May I ask what "incident" happened in the pool?

    My pleasure, glad you enjoyed.

They shut down the pool from about 10 AM on the last sea day because somebody was sick in the pool. Drained, shocked with chemicals, and then scrubbed. Unfortunate we were down a pool on the last day, but what can you do.
