  1. I didn't get an email. I guess I fell though the cracks, but since it was a BIG crack in that it was not a new booking, I guess I just consider that the balance due in the spring is $500 less than it was

If I were you I would call AMX and ask about this. I applied my $500 towards a booked cruise via my TA. I got the e mail the next day and the credit 4 days later. It won't hurt to call and ask why this hasn't shown or been denied. Are you dealing with a TA?

  2. Has anyone used this product and how well does it work? I am also wondering how hard it is to it get off, sounds like from product reviews it is thick and white and hard to remove.

Going to Hawaii and South Pacific cruise. I have never snorkeled in these areas and not sure about the jellies, are they rampant? What about in Bora Bora?

    Thank you!

  3. I know HAL does, and HAL is who bills the card, but the website won't even process it

Well Rats :( If any other offer ever comes through CC or anywhere and it hasn't been e mail or snail mailed to you, you can always chat with AMX and they said the the offers are usually good for people who do not receive those notices as well. Just a FYI.

So can payments on the cruise only be made through the TA or can you directly go to Holland with a phone call perhaps? Could you put the $500 on as OBC purchase through the Holland website, using the AMX? If you are already booked?

  4. Ugh.. still not there. Maybe it's because it's a Delta card? I can call tomorrow to see about changing to an AMEX card.

I have the Delta card also and it wasn't showing up....BUT I got a hold of AMX and here is the link to get that offer.

Then you just sign in and it should take you to this deal to enroll your card. I then called TA and made payment and they called HAL while I was on the line and made the payment to Holland Directly. Hope this helps.

  5. Do any of you bring on a plane your 2 bottles of wine in your checked luggage? We will be flying out of DC to Rome, HAL transportation to the ship, not sure if we will have time to purchase at the airport in Rome.

I would bring in my checked, VERY WELL wrapped, but I believe it is just one bottle that is corkage free. I will get a hold of ship services on Monday.

  6. I have asked Holland via chat if bringing home made wine on board is allowable. They said generally, no, but to contact Ship services. Has anyone had any experience with this? It would be properly sealed (corked and shrink wrapped)

I have a friend that has made some and I would like to take it as my corkage free bottle.

  7. We use what we use at a high end resort...our bath robe.

Not sure why the discussion or why anyone would presume to think they are the authority on cover up attire attire worn to and from the hot tub or pool for that matter. Or anywhere else on the ship.

It is a non issue. Do what you feel comfortable with. Life is far too short to sweat the small things like this.

More importantly enjoy your cruise to the fullest.

I totally agree iancal, people just need to remember, their heads can easily turn away.

  8. Does anyone know if one can purchase a one litre bottle of a brand they normally drink, from either the tax free shop or a HAL bar & drink it in their cabin if it's not on the indulgences list ?

I drink Capt. Morgan SPICED RUM & HAL does not have it on the indulgences list.:( Believe we were able to find it in the tax free shop but that was only to carry home..

Bacardi is not my favorite & don't know what Myers dark rum tastes like.. I'm not a big drinker & don't normally take a full shot of liquor in any drink.. Only use 1/2 shot so a bottle lasts a long time, unless it's Baileys.:) LOL

It would be nice to enjoy a Capt. Morgan & Pepsi on our balcony since we normally don't book balcony cabins.. Yes, understand HAL only sells coke but I'll be happy to bring the Pepsi..

When we're out & about the we'll use our Beverage Cards for coffee's & drinks including Capt. Morgan..

    Thanks..

I have on several occasions pre ordered Cruzan Vanilla Rum through Special services. If they have notice they special order it for you to be delivered to your state room. You CAN have what you want :) even if it is not on their list.

  9. Thanks to all, for their contributions to this live thread. I am taking this one next March on the Maasdam and appreciate the reviews you have done. One question, was there any talk of the Zika virus there or the chances of it making it there? Also interested in the Dengue fever shot, posted above. I am sorry that your weather was so abnormal, but sounds like you all made the best of it.

  10. Never put chocolate in the refrigerator, or even worse, the freezer. No good can come of it.

First, chocolate doesn't go bad, so there is no need. Second, putting it in the refrigerator makes it hard, so more difficult to chew down on. Last, being cold when taken out of the fridge reduces the flavor, which is a great deal of the point in eating it at all! :D

Or, you can take the chocolate out of the fridge and leave it to warm back up to room temperature. Wait? Yeah, right. Like THAT's gonna happen.

I like the way you think Ruth...for me there is seldom any left to worry about storage:D

Really appreciate this thread Kazu and friends...taking this cruise next March and love the reviews.

  11. Planning for next year's cruise in March/April. I have never been to Hawaii and am wondering, what snorkeling opportunities are available in Kona and an afternoon snorkel in Honolulu? I have checked with some of the tours/excursions and they seem pretty steep for the few hours you have. Maybe this is the way it is there?

Any suggestions of independent areas to go? Would prefer to not be so far from the cruise port.

    Thanks for any help. :)
