When you are logged into your booking, across the top you should see Cruise Manager, Planner and Booking & Order Details in the center.  Click on Booking & Order Details, under Your Bookings, it should show the names of the people on the booking, bed preference and dining preference and it will show either a balance or paid in full.  Next to that you should be able to click on View Balance Details.  That will bring up your cruise rate, taxes, insurance, total costs, etc.  There is a heading that says Onboard Credits and it will show what the balance is.

Looks like I can't access it b/c I booked through a travel agent. So annoying.

  2. ok so I just called Carnival.  1 hour 3 min wait....

Can't use OBC ahead of cruise for cruises before April 15.

It's use it by end end of cruise or lose it.

Looks like kiddies are cruising in luxury.

And it's not showing up on my account b/c I'm booked through a travel agent. ugh.

  3. We have $3000 to use up.

    Thinking drink package for sure.

Not really looking at excursions as we have plans that involve hiring locals.

Can we direct this towards the daily tipping?  How much is this again?

I understand we can use it for specialty dining fees.

What are some other fun ideas to use up credit?

Incredible that you can sit and exhale smoke for hours in a casino and as long as you are actively playing, COVID knows that it can't be spread.

It's incredible that COVID knows it can spread in dining rooms if you are just walking through so be sure to wear your mask, but once you sit down and begin eating it knows not to spread anymore.

Further, it's incredible that COVID can spread between sips of your drink in the comedy club (but it won't spread to the performer) so be sure to sip and cover!

All in all, COVID is a very smart virus.

It's all about weighing out risks/benefits.

We cruise on March 12th & also have $$$$ OBC due to cancelled cruises, but it doesn't show the option to apply OBC when attempting to purchase Cheers. Did you have to do something else to get your March 6th cruise to work for this since it's not supposed to start until March 15th?

Same!  Are you thinking of calling Carnival to inquire? I may.

I believe the key is March 15, 2022.  As it was stated above if you depart after that date you can use it.  You just said you leave the 12th....so....

Ah.... Makes sense... but that sucks.  So close!

I have a ton of OBC.

    Ideas?

I wanted to buy stuff ahead b/c of the cheaper price.

Can I direct it all at the auto tip?

When you go to your Cruise Manager and View Balance Details, it is at the bottom of the page. It is nice they put it there now. Used to be, it was only on your confirmation email, which doesn’t get updated over time if you get more OBC for various reasons. I am pleased with them allowing it to be used in advance. They certainly didn’t have to do that. Now if we can just get Cheers! to work on private islands!

thank you. I'm in my booking now and I swear there is nothing about balance details..... Where abouts do I find it?  I swear I'm normally more able. lol

    Disconnect your on vacation.

    Kind of judgy.....

We use texting on ship because we're a family of 6 and sometimes (often) get separated.  Further, I know of some people that really need to get away, but feel better knowing they can check in back home with ailing parents, children left with a sitter, etc.

    and it's "you're"....

However, the merits of masks (or lack of merit) have nothing to do with this topic and that debate rages on many other threads.  None of us, as far as I know, have any authority relative to our state or country nor to the Cruise Line about mask mandates.  So why waste more time debating it here where it makes no difference and is not related to the main topic.   If you really want to debate politics, masks and such, start a thread for that or join one of the other ones.  No need to hijack this thread.

Now, back to my original question, a $10 option at the pier is a great thing on its face.  I beats the cost of the monitored testing kits or the rapid tests at Doc In A Boxes I think.  What worries me is that there will likely be a huge line for the testing when people realize it.  When we cruised after Christmas, there was a huge line for the test at the pier option and the unvaccinated and I would not want to be in that line.  Since I am going next week, maybe it will not have gotten the word out enough and so many people may not opt to use the $10 test but I am not sure if I want to risk such a long line.

My other concern is that if my DW and I are showing no symptoms and get tested at the pier, and one of us tests positive (as I have known people who got COVID but displayed no symptoms or it was a false positive), what would we do?  Neither of us about want to go on the cruise with the other (probably).  Meanwhile, we have spent time and money getting to the pier.  Although we have travel insurance that would eventually (hopefully) reimburse us, that doesn't replace the disappointment.  For that reason, I tend to lean more to getting tested 2 days before so that we know before we leave home.  If we think it might be a false positive, we can get another test somewhere else.  If we still test positive, we can make begin making arrangements and avoid the travel to the port.

I like the $10 test, as that now seems the correct interpretation, but I think I will stick with knowing before I leave home.

That's what I'm thinking too. I'd rather know the results before I get too far from home.

The earliest check in time that was available for the 2/19 Panorama sailing was 1-130pm. I was logged in at 9pm west coast time when check in was available and that was the earliest slot available. Has anyone sailed the Panorama recently that may be able to tell me what time boarding begins? I am thinking we will show up around 11 and hope to board before 1pm (knowing there may be some waiting involved). Any information would be greatly appreciated.

That helps, thanks. I think we'll aim to head there for mid afternoon then.

  12. Hi there, we can't check in for a few more weeks so won't know our boarding window for  a bit, but I need to secure a shuttle for the morning of our cruise.  We haven't cruised in 3 years and am mindful that things may be different now with Covid and all.  What time should we look to arrive at the Port?
