  1. We are actually showing confirmed for both 6pm and 5:30pm. Today 6pm shows waitlisted #99 and 5:30 shows waitlisted #55. The number changes every few days, usually going up not down.

We are actually thinking about switching to anytime because as it looks now we will probably be placed in the 5:30 time slot and that just feels a little too early for us.

Wondering if we should just switch now or wait till we get on the ship? We have only switched dining times after boarding once and that didn't turn out too well for us. A little undecided what we want to do.

  2. I called Princess about this on another cruise and I was indeed confirmed for my seating . I think if I were to play with the dinner options it would move me to the wait list but I didn't want to mess it up and since it was confirmed, I left I alone

My TA says we are confirmed so I just keep watching us move up and down on the list. Today we are #45, which highest we have been. I thought about switching our table size but don't want to loose my spot.

  3. My March 2017 cruise, which we booked in April 2016, shows my choice of early traditional dining is confirmed but then it shows that we are # waitlisted. The number keeps changing every so often, sometimes up, sometimes down. It has been as high as 34 and as low as 9. Not sure why, but I'm sure time will tell since we sail in about 8 weeks.

  4. We have been in both locations, and possibly in D736 on the Sapphire, I can't remember the cabin number but it was the last cabin with the larger balcony. It was huge, we loved it. We didn't like the true aft cabin, it lacked light due to the overhang of the balcony and the balcony felt cave like. We also felt like we were missing something facing backwards, weird I know. We decided that a true aft cabin just isn't for us. We do like the aft location so now we try to get the last cabin on the side of the ship if it's available.

  5. Go for the bridge view if you can and the higher the better if your comfortable with that. You'll have a cool view of the draw bridge and some fancy yachts to see in the intracoastal water way and a view of your ship at the dock. On a side note I think this was mentioned in an earlier post, but find the time if you have it to take the water taxi a lot of hop-on hop-off options and good info about the landscape and area info. Enjoy your cruise.

    Thanks!

We do have a bridge view, lower level, but I have put in for an upgrade thru their website and also requested a high floor. So we shall see. I'll be happy with whatever we get.

We are staying 2 nights precruise so we have plans to spend the day prior to our cruise on the water taxi. It is one of our favorite things to do in FLL.

  6. When I booked my room I booked direct thru the hotel website and was able to choose a bridge view room either lower or upper floor. There were also intracostal, marina view and pool view options. Each view option had a different price depending on the location.

I don't think other websites show these exact options when booking. I remember seeing pool view and marina view, but not specifically bridge view.

  7. If the photo package for your sailing is on sale for $99 it might actually be worth the money to purchase it. If I remember correctly an 8x10 photo is aprox $25 so if you were to purchase 4 or more pictures you would end up saving a lot of money. With the package you get all the printed photos and all of the photos are also put on a USB drive.

Some backgrounds I have seen are a black, gray, blue, titanic, white pillars, a cruise ship, sunset, beach, and a plain white background. I have seen some beach chairs, balloons and roses used as props for the photos too. Also they use the main atrium stairs and sometimes other places on the ship. They have backgrounds set up every evening but on formal night they have even more set up and the lines are usually longer.

    Happy Cruising!

  8. Just so Im understanding correctly, I pre-purchase for 99.00. I have my mom in my cabin with me and my brother and his wife next door. Me or my mom have to be in the photo for it to be included? My brother and his wife cannot take one of just the 2 of them, one of us has to be included?

That is the way I understand it from previous posters. BUT...when I talked to a Princess rep today she told me I could purchase it on my cabin and still have pictures of my son, without me in them, on my package even though he is in a different cabin. She kept me on hold for almost and hour trying to get me an answer when I asked about it. So I'm a little skeptical. I finally purchased it on my sons cabin so I can do pictures of just my son and also family pictures with one package since my son will be in the family pictures. I don't need any pictures of just myself and my husband so this will work for us.

  9. I just called Princess to order the photo package for my upcoming cruise. My DH and I are in one cabin and my son and BFF are in another cabin. So I asked the rep how I should purchase it so that I could get photos of just my DS and also some family pictures since we are in two cabins. After almost and hour on hold she came back and said I can get pictures of just my DS even if I put the package in my name/cabin. I kind of find that hard to believe after seeing all of your experiences. So to be safe purchased it thru my DS cabin because I mainly want family pictures and some of DS by himself. Also as an added bonus my BFF can get some pics of herself if she would like, as I don't really need pictures of just my DH and I.

  10. I booked my 11yr old DS in a cabin with a good friend who is joining us on our cruise (mom and dad get their own cabin this way;)). I would like to pre-register my DS for the kids program because it is a spring break cruise and I want to make sure he gets a spot. When I went into the booking it lists my friend as being his legal guardian. I called my TA to see if I can get this changed and she called Princess and they said it cannot be changed now that we can try to change it after final payment and/or worst case we change it when we get on the ship. My TA told me to go ahead and sign him up to make sure he gets a place in the kids program. I am a little hesitant to do this. I guess if I do it now I get his spot reserved I can always sign a new form once on the ship.

Have any of you ever encountered this???

  11. A marriage license is considered a bridging document for your birth certificate to your drivers license. I always brought a certified copy of my marriage license when I was cruising with my birth certificate (I have passport now). You just never know when/if they will ask for it. Better to have it with you just in case. I was asked for mine once, I think it was our cruise a couple weeks post 9-11.

  12. Hi,

Just in case you didn't know, the type of insurance we get when we are able to start it within 21 days of the first payment, Travel Insured, can be "moved" to another trip, once.

(The other trip has some restrictions about time limits, but I'm not remembering the details just now.)

We've used this a couple of times when our plans changed, and so far, we haven't needed to change those plans a second time, thank goodness.

This matters to us, because the Travel Insured policy has a few specifics with the coverage that we prefer to the CSA coverage, or it would probably be easier just to get CSA all the time.

Thank you. Yes, we have researched travel insurance a lot. One can really find a policy to meet their personal needs if they look hard enough.

We tried to use our insurance credit on our next trip but unfortunately we don't always travel every year and it had been too long to transfer it by the time we booked our next trip. My TA even called the insurance company to try and get them to reinstate our credit but they wouldn't do it. We knew when we cancelled that cruise that we would probably loose the money we paid for insurance.

Our thoughts are we would rather pay for travel insurance and loose a few hundred dollars if we cancel to make sure I have pre-existing medical/evacuation insurance then get stuck with all those medical bills if something were to happen.

  13. There are so many misconceptions with travel insurance. Everyone has different needs and luckily there are many options available. There shouldn't be blanket statements made about any type of travel insurance. This makes things confusing for people as if buying insurance isn't confusing enough.

Yes, you can buy travel insurance with pre-existing condition wavier at the time of final payment. I have done a lot of research on this because I require the pre-existing condition waiver. Hopefully I will never have to use it.

We used to always buy insurance at the time of booking. Unfortunately we had to cancel our last cruise months prior to final payment and ended up not using the insurance and loosing the cost of the insurance. So I started looking at other options and I was happy to find several policies that you can book at the time of final payment. Nationwide, CSA and Global Alert are 3 that I have found. You just have to compare and choose which is best for you.

  14. Hi, I did a search and can't find and answer to my question. Hoping you all can help me.

We are sailing on the Regal and we have booked both a side aft balcony and an aft interior. The cabins are across the hall from one another, but it looks on the deck plans that the interiors are separated by a hallway. So I am wondering where are the doors to the interior cabins located? Are the doors facing the balcony cabins or is there a hallway in between the interior cabins?

    Thank you! :)

  15. I am booking precruise hotels for March 2017 for 2 nights. I have found the Hilton Marina on 17th Street and the Bahia Mar on FLL beach. Which would you choose?

We have stayed at Bahia Mar many years ago. Last time we stayed in FLL was at the Courtyard Marriott nice location but it's out of budget this trip.

The water taxi stops at/near both. The beach is accessible by free shuttle from the Hilton. I'm torn as to which one to chose.

I almost forgot they are the same price.

  16. nevermind-- that ship has a different lay out of the cabin

No problem...I have seen a few different cabin layouts. I'm sure no matter what we will have a great cruise. I'm not good with sleeping in the same bed with my husband so I just wanted to be aware of what my friend and I were getting into with our bed situation. I really hadn't thought much of it until I read some old CC posts about the odd shaped cabins few days ago. Our cruise personalizer shows twin beds...so fingers crossed or I'm sleeping on the balcony. ;)

    Thanks again. :)

  17. We had an L-shaped balcony room a few years ago and loved it! So much so that we are booked in one for our upcoming cruise next February and my parents are booked in the other one next door! We sit on the balcony far more than we ever sit inside on a couch so it is well worth it for us! Having the 2 side by side will be a wonderfully huge balcony as we always ask that the dividers be open between the 2 rooms. As far as getting dressed, hubby got dressed in the bathroom, as he usually does, and I got dressed in the room so it was not an issue for us at all. Most of the ships with the 2.0 upgrades have made a change to where the TV is now located and it is mounted on the wall in front of the bed instead of being on the shelf due to upgrading to flat screen TVs.

I would definitely book one again and again!! We LOVE being in the aft of the ship as well but we never are able to book the actual aft balcony rooms (they go too darn quick!) so this is the next best thing, at least in my opinion!

Thank you for your great response. I am excited about trying this cabin, my DH and I have wanted to try one for many years and then DS came along and we now have to have a 3 person cabin. Since DH and DS are not coming along this trip I convinced my friend to try it. I have a feeling we will love it...as long as we can separate the beds, even a little. We have tried the true aft cabins (Emerald Princess) and I was totally surprised by our reaction, but we weren't impressed. The balcony felt like a cave and the noise/voices echoed and were difficult to have conversation over. We also felt like we were missing seeing something. They are OK, but my favorite is the last aft on the sides of the ship...don't know why, but that's our favorite location (which is where we my friend and I are this time). :)
