Sounds like my AZ symptoms, apart from no headache.  I was fine the following morning.  Do fill in the yellow card scheme for side effects.  I think it's good to let them know.

He wasn't given any yellow card for side effects so unable to complete it. He is much better but not yet 100%.

That's how my husband reacted to his.

Good luck for yours on the 12th.

I've got to wait until they get to group 7.

He's much better now and more or less back to normal. Keeping my fingers crossed that I do not experience bad side effects later this week.

  3. My husband had his first vaccine of AZ yesterday morning and was fine up to about 6pm last night when he started developing headache, shivering and generally feeling unwell. He ended up going to bed at 8.30pm (unheard of for him) and had a terrible night. This morning he felt a bit better, had stopped shivering but again went back to bed at 8am and didn't arise until 11.30am. After having a coffee and something to eat he felt a bit better but nowhere near normal and is now sat in the sitting room watching TV. I am due to go for my first vaccine on Fri 12th - sincerely hope I don't have the same side effects. Fingers crossed!!!!!

  4. My mum finally had her 1st vaccine yesterday (Thursday) at her local GP surgery. She is 88yrs old and has been booked in for the 2nd on 25th March, again at the GP surgery.

My OH is slightly older than me and is in the 4th priority group but at the end of February I will join him in the 4th group but by then he may have already had his first vaccine. Not sure where we will go for our vaccine but we can see Elland Road from our bedroom window so maybe that will be up and running. It's roughly the same distance to either our GP surgery or Elland Road. Roll on!!!!!

  5. My mum (who is 88yrs old) has her appointment for the first vaccine on 5th January 2021 with the second injection on the 26th January 2021 at her local GP surgery. All her friends who are the same age as her have also received appointments for the vaccine. Hopefully when the Oxford vaccine is approved it will speed up the vaccination program immensely as the storage/distribution of this vaccine will be easier.

  6. Our last cruise was in February 2020. We had booked a cruise on Oceana, embarking Southampton on the 2nd Feb and returned on 16th Feb. This was a last minute cruise which we booked and I am so glad that we did. Really loved Oceana and so sorry she has now gone. A few weeks later we were in lockdown. We had a cruise cancelled in May 2020 which was for us to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary but have got a cruise booked on Ventura (Nov 2021) to the Canary Islands so hoping that this will go ahead.

Not going to book anything else but will wait and see what the situation is next summer and hopefully will be able to book something. Fingers crossed!!!!

    Arcadia is also adult only.

I honestly did not know that Arcadia was also adult only. I'd still choose Aurora even if the price was more expensive. When we sailed on Arcadia a few years ago we didn't feel that the ship "flowed" very well. Just my opinion.....but would go on any of the P&O ships next week.....if only.....😀

  8. We were very lucky that we sailed on Oceana in February 2020 to France, Spain & Portugal. It was an "extra" cruise for us as my OH had several hospital appointments in 2019 and we were just glad that we could book this at short notice because Oceana had her Asian itinerary cancelled. We really enjoyed Oceana and sad that she has now gone.

We have a cruise booked for November 2021 on Ventura and are really hoping that this will take place. Hopefully there will be a vaccine available by next summer???? Fingers crossed.

I received my email today with the FCC and the offer of the extra 20% towards a new booking.  This is for the cruise due to sail on the 20th June, so just under 3 weeks away.  Happy to start looking at my options now - well been looking already, but happy to start looking in earnest now 😀

Am I missing something here? We were due to cruise on 20th May 2020 and still have not yet received my FCC in order for me to request a cash refund. How come Tui are sending out FCC for cruises that are due to sail this month (June)? I thought that they were sending out the FCC within 4 weeks of departure but it seems not. Unbelievable!!!

Yes, they have eventually done something to preserve their customer loyalty and market share. Only for cruises before September though.

Meanwhile Marella seem to be sitting on their hands!

Yes I agree that Marella should be thinking ahead. Unfortunately I do not have a P&O cruise booked at the moment as just returned home last month from cruising on Oceana but do have a Marella cruise booked for end of May. I would be pleased if Marella did something similar and gave OBC and FCC for any cancelled cruises.

After today's news from Italy very doubtful TUI will sail Discovery 2 from Naples this summer It's only a few weeks away from the May start Surely they should be advising of changes now

Yes I agree that TUI should be advising people of any changes to embarkation port (Naples). We are due to fly to Naples on 20/05/20 for 2-wk cruise and not heard anything about a change of flight. Maybe they are hoping that within a month the virus will be gone???? No excursions showing for Naples, Livorno, Rome or Sardinia but there are some for Sicily. Cannot cancel as we have paid our balance but will not be booking any excursions at this moment in time. If they change the port of embarkation will they offer a refund or is this classed as a "small" change. Discovery 2 is in the Caribbean at the moment so should be virus free (hopefully) and is due to arrive in Naples on her re positioning cruise on 06/05/20.

Marella have updated info on who can be refused boarding it now includes anyone who has been to Italy, and does not specify just northern 😕

That's worrying. We are due to fly to Naples (I know it's a nightmare airport but the itinerary is brilliant) to embark our Marella cruise in May and have already paid the balance. Wonder if Marella will change the itinerary and change the port of embarkation? Not heard anything yet from Marella.

  13. I also got the email about online check in for our cruise this coming weekend. Only problem was that the system wouldn't accept my husband's passport dates (issue date to expiry date was more than 10yrs 9mths) so I was unable to take advantage of this. I rang P&O to get some help and after waiting a couple of minutes they were very apologetic and said this is a problem that they know about and are "working on it". Unfortunately I have to check in the usual way but should be okay as we have got priority boarding.

  14. We are booked to embark Oceana on 2 Feb but are wondering if we will be able to purchase bottles of spirits from the duty free shop as the ship only stays in the EU and does not call at Gibraltar or any other port outside the EU - only Spain & Portugal. They usually have good deals on for bottles of spirits but not sure if this will be possible. Does anyone have any information as to whether there are any shops on the port which will be selling spirits. I think that the last time we visited Lisbon there was a small shopping area which sold alcohol and tobacco. I know you can't take alcohol on the ship to consume but are okay about leaving it in storage until the end of the cruise.

  15. We have booked premium seats quite a few times in the past - all going to the Caribbean and flying both ways and also cruising back to Southampton. We found that the cost was not worth the money and have decided in future to just book extra leg room in the economy cabin. You do get a bit extra room, a pamper bag and also free drinks (expect this is still the same) and the premium cabin is separate from economy with a curtain dividing it. Although you pay extra for premium you still have to pay again to select a seat which I thought was unreasonable. I think when we did the transatlantic back to Southampton a few years ago now we paid approx £300 for both of us in premium (flying out only) and then had to pay extra to select our seat.

  16. Yes really pleased we got our flights changed to Doncaster. We got another surprise as well as when we received the amended booking confirmation of our cruise I could not see that the cabins which I had originally chosen and paid for (there are 4 of us travelling so booked and paid for 2 cabins) were showing. I spoke to our local Tui shop where I had booked the cruise and she promised to look into it and get back to me. She was back on the telephone within an hour saying that in fact they had not moved the cabin bookings over to the new amended booking but as a goodwill gesture they were crediting me with £48 so I got 2 cabins for the price of 1!!! I was still able to have the original cabins as well. Brilliant customer service!!

  17. Have been in touch with Tui and have managed to change the flight to Doncaster (early morning) so we will be on board the ship for lunch as we arrive in Corfu at 11.35am. Don't mind the early morning flight and very happy with Tui. No charge either!!! Also good flights on our return, arriving back at Doncaster at 2.15pm. Really pleased.

  18. I have just been informed by Tui that our flight from Leeds to Corfu on 3 May 2019 has been changed from early morning to now being 1535hrs, arriving in Corfu at 2100hrs local time. Can anyone let me know how long the transfer is to the ship from Corfu airport and also if we will miss our evening meal in the dining room bearing in mind that we will have to do muster drill before the ship sails at 2300hrs. Maybe we will have to eat in the buffet? Any information appreciated. Not particularly happy about the late departure but it is the only flight from Leeds on that day.

  19. I haven't booked anything yet for 2020 but have been looking at a cruise on Aurora in June 2020 as it is our silver wedding anniversary. Just checked prices today and the select price has reduced by £173pp (minisuite) although the early saver has remained the same. Not going to book yet and will probably wait until we have returned from our cruise in November 2018 on Ventura - 7 weeks and counting.

  20. We have done both a Baltic and a Fjords cruise. The places which we went to on the Fjords cruise were totally different from the ones we visited on the Baltic cruise. The sail into the fjords were absolutely magnificent and so glad that we did both of them. Which ports in Norway did you visit on your Baltic cruise?
