  1. Don't know if this helps---but here is the form given to passengers, one of the choices is BOTH.

If you pulled this form off of Facebook, it's probably generated for their benefit, as it appears no one has seen that form as of this date.

Anyone notice the lettering/numbers on the bottom? BC 01/16. Could these have been generated for the Bloggers Cruise Only?

  2. Was wondering about the time. It's advertised as two hours. Is that accurate? Was wondering if we would have time to go to a beach and para-sail. It says from 10am -12 pm at Jennie's.

  3. I used to have photos of PB, but that was from 2010. We went to Sancho's in March of 2014, (see Magic 2014). I found Sancho's water toys closer to the land then PB, but it may have changed as I have not been to PB in a while.

We like the AI, (well, margaritas), at Sancho's better.

  4. Was on the 1/3/16 cruise on the magic and we had a 10:30-11:00 check in time and we arrived at the port around 10:50 they checked our boarding pass to make sure we are at the correct time. It took right at 10 min to get through security and there was no wait upstairs, went right to the counter to S/S cards and then straight onto the Ship. We were both amazed how great the new process was.

Wow, they must have loaded the FTTF etc people already.

  5. We had a Cove on the Magic in March 2014, see my review in the signature. Loved it. Yes it was far away from the Lido deck, but, because of the lanni (sp?) deck, we rarely found the need to go to Lido. The Lanni had several food stations on sea days, had great entertainment, and was very quiet. I enjoyed sunning there instead of Lido.

  6. FTTF and these staggered check in times are interesting. Usually, if you arrive at the port around 12 pm, you can miss the mass cattle call, (those with the "me first" problem), and walk on to the ship around 12:30 - 1 Pm. The rooms are normally ready by then, those with the "me first" problem have eaten and which frees up the lido. I'd rather spend $60 on something else.

I have also read some ports, the FTTF are so numerous, they are placed in a "holding area", which does not have enough seats and they have to wait until weddings, plats and diamonds board. Does not seem very fun to me.

  7. That if you get to the port around 12:30 pm, you can walk on to the ship around 1 pm, drop off your bags and enjoy 2 hours of fun before the safety drill?

Usually by that time, those who have to be first are done with the food, at their rooms unpacking.

No cattle call, no me first, just a nice walk on to the ship, to your room and on to the fun.

  8. There is not a designated area for FTTF in Galveston, at least there wasn't on December the 6th. We were in with the general cruisers. There weren't enough chairs, yet every port employee who walked by told us to get off the "walkway" and sit down. Um yea about that ... It was HUGELY frustrating. Even if you were off to the side, leaving the huge wide walkway area clear they would tell you to move. One thing about our sailing is that there seemed to be a lot of weddings, but when the weddings boarded, it didn't free up a lot of seats. It was strange. We have done FTTF in PC and in San Juan, but for Galveston - we wouldn't buy FTTF again unless we really need early cabin or priority tender.

This does not appear very pleasant. Thanks for the information.

  9. It's a money grab on Carnivals part. But some people like it. The only benefit I see is getting to drop your carry-ons once you board instead of dragging them around for an hour. If you get to the port around 1 ish, you miss the cattle call anyway and the rooms are ready.

  10. Camp Carnival does close during lunch and for about an hour before dinner. Also, on some sea days, they have family activities in the afternoon, which means parents have to attend, or child does not attend.

Never had a problem with dinning, but never had a toddler, our child was 6 for her first one.

You can google camp schedules. Although they may not be for the ship you are on, they are very similar from ship to ship. I might have one for the 9-11 year olds in one of my reviews, (not the Magic, we graduated from Camp Carnival to Circle C for that one). If you want the 6-8, I might have those scanned some where on my puter.

Check the Family Board on CC, (special interests, Family board), they might have schedules scanned as well.

  11. I think that's just crazy. Now people can't leave their deck chairs if we want to take a swim. That is really just too much.

If you people that complain about not being able to get a deck chair would get out of bed before noon, you might have better success

Leaving to take a swim is one thing, placing items on a chair on deck at 8 AM and not showing up until 2 PM is a problem.

You want to take a swim? Socialize with those in the chair next to you. On several cruises sea days I find a spot, plop myself down and stay pretty much all day. If I have to get up, I speak with the person(s) next to me and say, "I'm going to the restroom, brb", "I'm going to cool off for a second in the pool, brb", I'm going to get me something to eat, brb". I'm out of my chair for maybe 20 mins at the most. Those next to me give me the courtesy of "saving" my spot, and I reciprocate.
