Can't figure out how they could charge for flowrider.  On most days, the stand-up crowd shows up about 5-10 minutes before scheduled time and sit arround talking.  When the crew show up some ambitious person starts us off.  Usually only about half a dozen active riders, so keeping track of who's on the wave is never a problem.  Most folks skip occasional turns.  New folks get rotated in, the folks who are most entertaining get encouraged to take extra time.  We coach and cheer on those that struggle.  We also have about 50% spectators on the shore bench.

What would you charge for?  Per turn on the wave? Per minute on the wave?  Gate admission for the hour?

I kinda think this thread was started by a troll just to stir controversy.

Promise I'm not a troll trying to stir controversy.  I only cruise every other year and wondered if the travel agent I spoke to was speaking the truth since I know things have changed since our last cruise.

  2. I know...another drink package question...but this isn't to find out if it's worth it. I've gotten on my last 3 cruises and plan to get on my next two.  Just wondering what the average rate per day has been for these drink packages on 4 night allure amd 6 night symphony.  Getting ready to book and curious what the rate is now (I know it can vary..just wanting a ballpark).

  3. Just got off the phone with a TA that told me that Royal will start charging for the Flowrider on select ships and eventually fleetwide this year. She claimed that was per a conference she attended end of November.  Please say it isn't so. I know Royal previously charged for private/semi private flowrider times but the you could use it for free during the day during select times.

  4. Thanks to all for the input thus far. Symphony is 6 days to Labadee, Falmouth and Nassau.  Haven't been to any of these in years.  Odyssey is also 6 days and goes to Coco Cay, Falmouth and Grand Cayman. Personally I love Labadee and it's more laid back vibe than Coco Cay. So ports are both of interest to me.  How are the crowds on Odyssey?  Never felt very crowded on Symphony except in the promenade at night but we didn't hang out there much as we liked the other areas of the ship better. Can you reserve shows like Oasis class on Odyssey?

  5. Looking to book either Symphony of the Seas or Odyssey of the Seas for a Caribbean cruise this spring.  We've been on the Symphony once and Harmony twice and love oasis class ships (only class we've sailed on Royal. Sailed on Carnival Inspiration 15 years ago and despised it). Looking at videos of Odyssey it doesn't seem like there are many outdoor areas as there are on Oasis class ships.

What are everyone's thoughts on Odyssey for a Caribbean cruise.
