I haven't stayed in a two bedroom suite but I have stayed in a one bedroom at this hotel at least 6 times. Nice rooms, beautiful pool, location in walking distance to several good restaurants and to the beach. Lobby has two restaurants. Good free buffet breakfast and nice free evening cocktail hour. I'll be there next Friday again.

As was said, just know your styles and prices before you go. We have found the best prices so far have actually been on the ships and they generally will match any price you find on the islands.

In the past, I have read bad reviews after booking a particular ship and I always worried only to find the ship just fine. I was on the RCI Adventure just a few weeks ago and the bad reviews far outnumbered the good. We found it totally fine. Sometimes I just have to wonder if people are expecting way too much. I have been on the Summit 3 times and have booked it again for the repositioning cruise 3/25. The reviews you read are only various peoples' opinions and their demands and expectations may be far greater than yours.

We always stay at the Embassy Suites in Isla Verde and have stayed there at least 5 times. In fact we just stayed there 3 weeks ago for 3 days prior to cruising on the Adventure. It's walking distance to several affordable restaurants (Mi Casita is a favorite of ours) and to a beach. We love the hotel's pool though. Being an Embassy Suites they have a buffet breakfast included and a free cocktail hour in the evening with munchies. The lobby has a small casino and an Outback Steak House along with their own restaurant. It's right next to the airport. Cab to old San Juan and to the pier.

Yes, it's hard to figure with this itinerary. They'd never have a formal night on the last night which would be our last sea day but the next to the last night which is a usual formal night is our overnight in Bermuda and also unlikely. We're traveling as a group of 14 and trying to decide which would be the best night to pre-book the Normandie and don't want to do it on a formal night.

Sorry if this has been answered somewhere already. Does anyone know which nights the formal nights are usually scheduled on the San Juan to Bayonne 8 day repositioning cruise? I realize the nights aren't necessarily the same on each cruise. The schedule is San Juan, St Thomas, St Maarten, 2 sea days, 2 days in Bermuda, 1 sea day, Bayonne. Thanks.

Gigi was there waiting for us and we had a wonderful tour. She is very informative about life in Curacao and the history and culture of the Jewish population. It was nice to do a different type of tour on one of the islands.

Just to clarify, we took this tour through "A Taste of San Juan". And not through one of the cruise lines. It was wonderful. Our guide was Carmen and she was the perfect blend of professional and friendly. We went to six restaurants and had pretty large portions of everything from Puerto Rican coffee and sandwiches to chocolates. We even had the chance to make and then eat our own Mofongo. The tours are given at 10AM and 3PM and last about three hours. We took the 3PM tour figuring it would fill in for dinner and it did. We were full after the tour. Carmen gave us plenty of commentary on sites, customs, and history of Puerto Rico along the way. We will absolutely take this tour again the next time we're in San Juan.

Sure hope Gigi doesn't do that to use. On the ship now and due in Curaçao in two days.

We didn't take that excursion as were in San Juan now pre-cruise. But yesterday we took the Taste of San Juan food tour Nd it was terrific. Best money we ever spent. Great food and good commentary from tour guide.

We have this tour booked for our day in Curaçao 3/6. Gigi is looking for 4 more people to add to the tour that day. If you're interested e mail her right away or try meeting her there. She will be at the pier where the sign says "Pick Up Tours Internet" and will be wearing a purple polo shirt and a white hat with Curaçao written on it.

I'm traveling with a group of 14 on the Summit shortly. Our reservations are all linked and we are all confirmed with the late seating for dining. Is there any way to confirm ahead of time that we will all be seated at one large table? Obviously we can check when we get onboard and then make changes if necessary but it would be much smoother to know ahead of time. Thanks.

I recall on one cruise having a beautiful, enormous salad bar in the MDR for lunch one day during a 7 day Caribbean cruise. It had a huge variety of ingredients and servers to make it for you. I can't recall what ship but think perhaps it was the Explorer. Can anyone help with which ship it was? If it was RCI, can anyone tell me if they still have it since we'll be on the Adventure in a few weeks? Thanks.

We just booked it for the end of February when we'll be there for 3 days prior to our cruise. The tour gets wonderful reviews on Travel Advisor.

I read in a past Compass for the Adventure out of San Juan that the dress code for the night in Aruba is "Caribbean/White". We'll be on the Adventure out of San Juan March 1. Should I assume one night will be Caribbean? Thanks.

We were onboard 2-3 years ago and they set up a "tailgate" party in the theater. The game was shown on big screen TV and they served hot dogs, burgers, chips, etc at the back of the theater. Very nice and a lot of fun.

On the 7 night Adventure of the Seas Southern Caribbean itinerary (San Juan, St Thomas, St Kitt, Aruba, Curacao) - Based on docking, is there an advantage as far as view to Port or Starboard for a cabin? Thanks for any info.
