My sister had double knee replacement surgery. It took a good 12 weeks to get to feeling normal. If you went in late Feb you may have pain but the worst would be behind you I would think.
Good luck at whatever you decide.

A Tide pen. Came in handy when I spilled a few drops of red wine on my white capris. Worked great. Never go on vacation without it.

I first read this review when I was over 600 days out. Now I am just over 100 and had to reread it. I will probably read it again right before I leave.
This is one of the best reviews ever.

From the document
"Need more non-alcoholic beverages? Pick them up on shore. Carnival doesn't track what you brought on the ship initially and they haven't been known to question you bringing on more non-alcoholic beverages on port days."
They let you bring them on, but they take them till the last day, no?
I have all but once had them taken away from me and that once was on Costa. Otherwise they take them and get your name and cabin number and deliver it last night but I am sure others have gotten it through.

Aesome review but I can't see the pictures anymore. Not since the crab place. Not sure if it's just my computer.

As of now the Carnival Entertainment Dept, they are only "planning" to place bands on Legend and Pride:(
According to Music Motion web site, they joined Freedom in late March and my guess is that contracts extend for 6-8 months.
That's one of the reasons we changed our Aug. cruise to The Freedom from the Pride.
Mike
Well I sure hope they "plan" on getting a band by December on Pride when I sail! :p

Next up was the ice carving. It always amazes me the skill these guys have that has been passed on through generations. But for the life of me...I cannot tell WTH this is
I can't help but think this looks like cliffs with a giant waterfall. I am probably wrong but that's what it reminds me of. Great review by the way. The Fantasy was one of my first ever cruises back in the day.

Yay love your reviews! Great so far! Awesome pictures too.

You know if I could afford a suite I wouldn't be cruising with Carnival.

This is just me but I did this on the Destiny with my girlfriends a couple of years ago and while my husband wasn't upset that I went, I was. I had a good time, but all through the trip I felt so guilty having left my husband and kids home alone. I don't know if I would go again without him. JMHO.

I've seen a lot of threads where people who do things that bother them but because some people bring stuffed animals on a cruise we have to start a thread to complain about it?
Sorry, I just don't get it. Why would it bother you? It's not affecting you and if people want to have fun and this makes then happy then so what. Ignore them. Don't look at them or their stuffed animal. It's their vacation too.

When we sailed on Destiny last October we flew into Fort Lauderdale and arrived at just close to noon. One of our suitcases ended up being not making the flight so we were there another 30 minutes in the offices at the airport trying to locate the suitcase. We left Fort Lauderdale around 1:00 and made it to the Port of Miami by 1:45. It was kinda nice as just about everyone had already boarded and we were on board by 2:15. Oh, and by the way, the missing suitcase ended up to our door BEFORE the luggage that made it. Lol. Go figure.
My point is arriving in Miami at 12:15 may be closer then some would like but its a relatively short trip to the port via taxi or shuttle. I think you will be fine barring any airline issues. This is closer then some would like but sometimes flying in the day of your cruise is unavoidable.
Have a great trip.

Couldn't you wait until winter break? I took a week off from college for a cruise and it was very difficult catching up. I regretted it. Like another poster stated, this isn't like high school. It was much more difficult but this is your decision. Good luck.

Now if those points would be accumulated points from past cruises I could see where it could happen but how dumb do they think we are? 1500 points is ALOT. I don't spend that much to accumulate that many points.

While the bathroom and bedroom area look awesome the rest of the room looks like something out of the 70's. I just think they need some different furniture. I would, however, not be upset if I could be swimming in that tub! Hope you had a great cruise!:)

What a beautiful story. I cried reading it. What a wonderful outcome. I think there was divine intervention here.

I remember the "make your own sundae" bar on HAL, early 1980's, that included bottles of premium liquor to be used for toppings. Free! I still have a few Delft plates that we received on HAL ships, too.
With the advent of e-tickets, receiving your docs in a portfolio is a thing of the past. However, I do have a nice green leather ticket holder from a recent Crystal cruise.
Yes, dining with officers is still common on many cruise lines. On Celebrity ships we are offered extended tours of the ship's kitchen and food prep areas.
Food was prepared table-side. Flambe desserts, fettucini alfredo, salads.
At the end of each cruise, your waiter would present the week's menus to you.
My parents cruised frequently in the 50's and 60's and have many pictures of all the passengers participating in costume parties. And on formal night, gentlemen were in dinner jackets/tux while ladies were in elegant gowns. In those days, the fashion police were Dior and Channel.
Darcy
I forgot about the pasta and flambe's being done table side! By that was always fun.

While having this Aft balcony was a beautiful site being right below the pool and buffet was quite annoying. Scraping chairs and tables all times of day and night. I would definately book an aft cabin again but not on the Veronese deck.:(
