  1. I am trying to book my excursions but the site says that they are not available yet. I know that some people on another site who are going on the same date have already booked them through their travel agents. I booked the cruise online. Does anyone have an address I can use. I have tries the passenger excursions one and get the same message.

  2. When we were on the Celebration last month we were asked to go to reception and tell them how many cruises we have done with Thomson. Later, we were invited to a cocktail party and were told that Thomson didn't know how many cruises people had done previously as they hadn't any records. Not sure if that is correct or not but with Thomson, anything is possible.

  3. After 27 Thomson cruises on all their ships except the Spirit, we decided to have a week's cruise on her last September. I have to say, in my personal opinion, she is my least favourite of all the ships I have been on. Too dated and past its sell by date. The contrast between the Spirit and her sister ship, the Celebration, is very noticeable. Give me the newer ships every time.

  4. Sorry but we got off Dream end of April and Gavin had left the ship before we got on (I believe he's on Discovery now) and Paul Fisher is CD

Taylor is CD on Majesty as we bumped into him in Cadiz when both ships were in port

Soundroom have left the ship and Top Men are the band Tom and Maris are on until September along with Noel and Marisa in Tides

Gavin is on the Celebration at the moment

  5. It's a very rare event for the Tyne Tunnel tombe closed!

If you are wanting to fill your time before joining the ship you could either have a look around Tynemouth (also on the North side) or go into the Royal Quays Outlet Centre which is more or less next door to where your ship will be.

Shopping in Royal Quays sounds good to me. Not sure the other half would agree lol:halo:

  6. I went on this excursion from Messina and in my opinion it is not value for money. There is a 2 hour drive each way and luckily the guide was very knowledgeable, she needed to be to talk for 2 hours!.

The problem is you only see the summit of Etna from the motorway service area where we stopped for a toilet break. Even there the view was partially blocked by electricity cables. The final destination did have small craters, lava flows etc etc but there is no view of the top of Etna  This is blocked by a hill which you can walk up (hard) or get a chair lift. As we were only there for a hour there was no time to do this. It was very busy with lots of coaches and 2 restaurants with long queues for the toilets etc. I checked the excursion guide on the ship and it is cleverly worded so nowhere does it say you will get good or bad views of Etna.

    Not recommended, save your money.

Totally agree. We did this trip a few years ago. A total waste of time and money.
