We had only one captains address in March. It was at 8pm
-
We always choose local tours. We find them cheaper, visit more places and, in Grenada, we chose where we wanted to go.
-
Premium one way on the TA discovery 2 April 18 doesn't seem to be available from Gatwick.
-
Sounds great. Will be looking at that one.

We had 2 lovely waiters and we ate around 8.15. We queued with everyone else and when it was our turn, we told his where we wanted to be. Only once was the table not quite ready for us. The earlier diners had left but the table was still be reset for us.
-
We returned last week from the Majesty. We tipped each of our 2 waiters €20, our wine waiter €20 and the same for our cabin stewards. Doesn't sound a lot for a week of looking after us, but we only had about €100 odd left.

I agree jake 26. Received our etickets a couple of days ago and the itinerary, according to Thomson, hasn't changed. So will stick with what tour dates I have booked.
-
I have heard back from both Cosol and Bernards tours. Thet say the the Discovery is in St Lucia on March 1st and St Maartens on March 9th. I know that is not what cruise timetables says, but for the minute, I will go with the tour guys dates.

Have booked for back to back cruise Seven Shores & Paradise Islands Have noticed that the order of ports of call has been changed & the sea day has been changed We go on 26/2 /17 Has anyone going on this cruise been notified by Thomson of any changes ? Would like to have details confirmed so we could book excursions locally Thanks for any help
We are on this cruise and no, we haven't been informed of any changes. We have already booked excursions with Cosol on St Lucia and Bernards in St Maartens so I would very much like to know what dates we are now going to be there.

Thanks you for posting that. I have just booked my seats for February. Took the last few double seats.
-
Afraid so. Wine by the glass is included in the drinks package but if you want a bottle, then you have to pay the supplement. IMO the house wine isn't too bad.

Well Waterless, we were on the Spirit last month with our 30 and27 year old. A very mixed age group. The younger ones, and the young in heart, tend to go to the disco which starts at around 11.30. Thomson ships are ideal for a mixed age group.
-
No they are not. Both the Spirit and Majesty are run by Louis Line. All the waiters etc are hired through the agency used by them. Only the entertainment staff are Thomson. The Dream and Celebration are run by agency staff used by Thomson. At least, that is what I have been led to believe but no doubt someone will correct me if I am wrong.

Well put kruzeeka mirrors our feelings and already have three booked for next year, one point probably worth noting is that you now get Bailey's on the AI without supplement, well Mrs PC was happy😍

Baileys was not on the all inclusive when we were on the Spirit last week. So maybe only on the Thomson run ships

Have you looked at Cruise and Maritime. They cruise to the Fjords from various ports around the country and much cheaper than either of the above.
There's a thread about them by Campolady on here.
I have looked at them and even with the second person going for half the price, they are still dearer than Thomson. Plus we got the drinks package thrown in.

We have cruised with Fred before. Maybe we were unlucky as we found the food to be on par with Thomson. We had a balcony cabin but spent so little time in it, we felt it wasn't worth the money. We have now booked the Fjords with Thomson as the money we saved will pay for The Flam railway and we like the Celebration.
-
We did the cruises the other way round from you Receptionist 1. Celebration food in June was far better than Spirit food last week but we did have a good time.
-
We wanted to go to the Fjords next year and I didn't want to go with Thomson. I checked the price with Fred Olsen and, even with out Oceans Club discount, they were over £500 more for the same date and same cabin type. So it will be a long journey up to Newcastle for us rather than 45 minutes to Dover.

We had no complaints about the service we received in with the buffet or MDR. The buffet food was always lukewarm but that is our usual experience with buffets. The MDR was also buffet service for breakfast and, again, the food wasn't very hot. Yes I did mention to our waiters that the food wasn't hot but there wasn't a lot they could do. We did have a lovely week and we booked for the itinerary mainly. The ship is going back to Louis next year so it is doubtful we will book on her again.

Having just returned from a week on the Spirit, we couldn't help comparing it to our cruise in June on the Celebration. It looked very tired and dated in a lot of the areas. The vibration wasn't as bad as the Celebration but I missed the comfy loungers on the sun deck. The gala night dinner was disappointing. Salmon or beef slices. It reminded me of how the food used to be on the other ships before the recent improvements. The only time the food was hot was in Sirocco's. Our 2 waiters, Harly and Joseph were excellently and Mario kept our glasses filled. Henry and Vitility kept our cabin spick and span. Entertainment hosts were not up to the standard that we have experienced on the other ships but that is IMO. Wouldn't book the Spirit again unless the itinerary was one I wanted to do. Looking forward now to the Majesty at New Year and the Discovery at the end of February. Finally, we weren't recognised as repeat customers. Surprise surprise.
-
Just got back from the Spirit. No recognition as a repeat customer even though we have 2 more booked and have done 20+ cruises with Thomson. So much for them telling me that the information is collected on the ship.
-
I think, PC, it is beyond Thomson's IT department's capabilities to remove outdated forms and information from their website.
-
I have had a reply from Thomson pre travel informing me that an embarkation form is no longer required as they will collect that information from me at the port before I board. I wonder!!!
-
I have 3 future cruises with Thomson. I can fill out the embarkation form for the last 2 but the form does not recognise my booking ref for the first one next month. The address prefilled in for our December cruise has the wrong Town, County and Postcode but the February one is all correct. Regarding the September cruise, I emailed the address given on the Thomson website but the emails keep bouncing back. So, I have emailed the address given for incorrect information on the form in the hopes that that will work. Not that I expect anything from Thomson, but I don't like forms to beat me.

Being new to FB and not very computer literate, how do you access the Discovery 2 FB page? We are on her for 2 weeks from September 10th and not best pleased about the port change.
