  1. Thanks to all.  I didn't see the attachment - only the link to log-in to see the booking, so I missed seeing the details.  We've always sailed Celebrity and know how to find things on their website but I am having trouble learning the HA website.  Thanks again to all.  I see that they applied a $100 OBC to both my husband and me so we are good.  And I will send in updated AARP information yearly so it doesn't get removed.

  2. I signed up for this credit and it is on the booking I made last October.  Last week I booked another cruise.  How do I know if the credit is being applied to this booking (I booked online).  I do not see it listed anywhere but can see my shore excursion credits - but do not see my prepaid gratuities or included Wi-Fi.  I don't know what I should see.  Do I need to call them to be sure?

    Thanks, Penny

  3. I was using the gift cards for excursions and found out that if the gift card did not cover the entire amount due - none was applied - I had to pay the entire amount by credit card.  I couldn't partially pay with the gift card and just the balance with my credit card.  If you are buying an excursion for two and have enough to pay for one in full it will let you use the gift card for the first person but the second ticket again goes on the credit card - no partial payments.

  4. Thank you.  We're trying to decide if we want to just park there or book thru Trinity and spend the night at the hotel and leave the car there.  Normally our cruises are 14 days so we book thru Trinity but our cruise is shorter this year so didn't know if it was worth the extra money as if the car is at the port we can just be on our way home after we return rather than going back to the hotel to get the car.  Thanks again - this is very helpful.

  5. We used Trinity for the Embassy Suites in Elizabeth.  Everything worked great and it was over $100 cheaper than booking thru the hotel.  Shuttle was right on time to take us to the pier.  Can't say about returning from the pier as our cruise was one way and we fly in to Newark and took the hotel shuttle back to get the car.  We have stayed at this hotel several times and have not had any trouble with our car being left in the lot (it is not fenced).

  6. We cancelled our cruise back in the first week in January.  We also never received our email with our FCC so last week I called our TA (Big Box) and they called Celebrity and got the FCC and applied it to our August sailing.  That may have sounded easy - but we waited 1hr and 20 minutes for the TA to answer and didn't get thru to Celebrity until 3hr 40 minutes into the call (so took 2 hr 20 min for Celebrity to answer) - didn't get off the phone until 4 hr 12 min total time on the phone - don't you just love that the phone tells you how long you were on the phone?  But at least our FCC was issued and we were able to use it on our next cruise.  I have no doubt that if I hadn't called we would never have received it.

  7. I completed the form online to cancel my cruise using their "Cruise with Confidence" guarantee.  I received emails noting the cancellations of my dinner reservations but did not receive an email about the FCC I should receive.  I understand from reading other posts that it may take 30 - 45 days.  Is that how long it takes to get the email confirmation?  I would have thought that they would send an email telling me that it was coming and giving an approximate date that I would receive it.  Thanks for any help.

  8. We are on the Apex cruise before yours and had one of our excursions cancelled too.  We figured that not enough people signed up but that is just our guess.  Maybe the vendor cancelled the excursion because of the current COVID conditions.  We didn't bother to call but now only have two excursions for the week as there aren't any other that we want to replace that one with.  Kind of wishing we weren't going now.

  9. I also found the Embassy Suites on the Trinity site.  It is a lot less expensive than booking Country Inn & Suites directly (and they only allow 7 days of parking before charging $20/day for additional days) and Embassy Suites says it is sold out.  I tried to make a reservation for next August and everything seemed to work (I didn't actually book it).  I don't know why Embassy Suites would do it - but is it possible that Trinity reserved all/most of the rooms?  I hate that they take my money now and "guarantee" a refund if I cancel up to one day before arrival - but the savings are great.

  10. I ran into that same problem last night on my laptop.  If I scrolled up, than down really fast I could see the times but it wouldn't stay on the screen for me to book.  At work I have a desk top and I was able to see the times and book as the screen is larger.  This probably doesn't help you - but it was how I resolved the problem.  Maybe you could get it to work on your phone.   Worth a try.  Good luck.

Finally after 2  plus hours of being on hold and told they could not help I called Celebrity engagement center and with in 30 minutes the FCC was solved and emailed  to our home.  Faith has been restored in X.

When you received your FCC - did they send you a code or was there an attachment with the email?  I ask as I was sent an email concerning my FCC and it talked about referring to the "instructions and guidelines" - but there weren't any.  I replied to the email but have not heard back.  Thanks.

Same here. My June 28th cruise was cancelled last week. I received most of the money back today. Missing about $500. I was shocked to receive any money this fast. Wonder when the rest of the money will show up? Has this happened to others?

When we cancelled on March 17 we received most of our refund on April1st.  We are still owed just over $500 and have called several times and the last time we were told it would be processed in the next several days.  This was three weeks ago - we are still waiting.

  13. I have a question concerning FCC.  We had a nonrefundable deposit on a cruise that was cancelled.  The deposit was to be changed into a FCC.  We received this email that talks about the FCC, but there was no attachment or "guidelines and instructions" that were mentioned in the email.  I responded three days ago asking for more information but have not heard back.  Should there have been an attachment with a code number or something that I can use in the future?

Thank you for choosing Celebrity Cruises. We appreciate your consideration of our brand for your vacation.

We are sorry to learn that you will be unable to sail with us aboard the Celebrity Silhouette in June of 2020 as originally scheduled. Our records indicate you were booked under a non-refundable promotion. As such, your recent reservation cancellation entitles you to Future Cruise Certificates. Kindly note that the credit issued is equal in value to the deposit amount paid. We ask that you refer to the included guidelines and instructions for redemption when planning your next cruise.

It is our sincere hope that we will have a future opportunity to welcome you aboard one of our Celebrity ships. We are confident a very special and memorable sailing experience awaits you.

    Thanks - Penny

My TA questioned the refund amount, but couldn't get X to budge on giving me the full $250 pp in FCC instead of just taking the $100 deposit back and giving us the remaining $150 in FCC.

We booked a cruise on board with a reduced deposit of $100pp instead of $250pp for three people (refundable).  In January we removed the third person and got upgraded perks but had to agree to a nonrefundable deposit which we did.  We cancelled the cruise mid March and were told that $750 was being put towards FCC as we agreed to a nonrefundable deposit and there were originally three on the reservation.  The rest would be refunded.  Didn't like it but what choice did we have as they had our money?  We did receive some of our refund but are still owed over $500 (they refund in pieces and did confirm that we are still owed over $500).  We have not yet received notification of our FCC.

  15. We ran into this problem in January.  Tried to book "our cabin" (we've stayed in this cabin multiple times in the past and love it - and of course can remember the cabin number) for our next cruise while on board.  The future cruise associate said they are no longer allowing that so we booked another room.  When we got home we called Celebrity and asked to change the cabin to the one we originally wanted.  Again, no luck.  New policy forbids it.  He did say he could request an exception which we asked him to do.  After checking, he said that since it was a European itinerary we would need to get the exception from the person in charge of that (I forget their title) in Europe.  We gave up.  But I am like the OP, I like the bed near the bathroom, not the balcony.  It seems all the doubles in the category we chose (on the hump) have the doubles near the balcony.

For me, I hate if I have a problem or a question that I have already discussed that I have to explain everything all over again. Every single time because you never get the same person. When I call my TA, it’s someone who I have known for years. Maybe he’s not available for questions and booking 24/7 but when I call him about a request, he knows exactly what I am talking about. He calls me by my name. He knows my preferences.

And sadly, the entire RCL company is downsizing their phone centers in the US and moving many of them offshore. :classic_mellow:

Jim - everybody knows you by name.  :classic_tongue:

  17. How would they know if you "forgot" to report something to customs if they are choosing people before you get to customs with your form? If they are choosing people before you disembark, they wouldn't know if you were going to try to get through Customs without declaring something as they haven't seen your form yet. It may not be random - they may choose people that bought things on board just to see if they are being reported, but I would think most people (but not all) would have reported what they bought.
