  1. When we were on the QM2 in August

We splashed out on a 7day Spa pass. Which gave us access to the spa pool, whirl pool and a couple of sauna's, and somewhere to sit and relax. Or fall asleep as I always seem to do  It was a great way to spend a couple of hours just chilling each day before getting ready for evening meal each evening.

But there are a limited number they sell each cruise, so go the first day if your considering it!

  2. We pre booked West Quay Cars

They were very good and waiting for us when we landed.

They were still expensive at £17 but cheaper than the checkercars, who I assume must have to pay the Airport some massive fee to be the Airport taxi of Choice with a desk inside the terminal!

  3. Hello Cary & Jim

Good to hear a few more people on board. Don't forget to check out the roll call for this sailing as well.

I believe this sailing has now sold out, so well done on your Upgrade!:)

Suffice to say we have not been upgraded :(, but more than happy with the price we paid for the type of cabin!

Dont worry about Evening Meal with your table mates. You will only need to tolerate them for one meal a day, as Breakfast and lunch you can be sat with anyone, not your usual table and table mates! We have always had great table mates on all of our cruises with the exception of one, who just totally ignored us! Was a big table of 10 people though. The ironic thing was they were also our stateroom neighbors as well, so never said a word to us! Very strange! It was soon sorted as we moved table no problems and no questions asked.

I guess we cant get along with everyone we come in contact with. The way of the world just proves that with all the troubles! But put that to the back of your minds, you WILL be just Fine and Dandy :)

I can thoroughly recommend the Champagne tasting.

Also for a special occasion the Champagne afternoon tea is worth the upgrade.

Geez Champagne features a LOT in this post!

    Happy Packing

    Cheers

    Gary

  4. We have only done a little 3 night cruise on the QM2 in December last year.

We really like the ship and when we saw the 3 Queens in Liverpool in May we decided we NEEDED to do a Trans Atlantic.

We have never had so many Seadays in a row, so will be interesting to see how it goes, Although there does look to be some good Guest speakers Onboard!

    Cheers

  5. Hi There

We took a taxi from the terminal a few months back and it cost £24 which I thought was pretty expensive

You might be worth booking a Taxi in advance to pick you up. Try West Quay Cars, they will be able to give you a fixed cost. Think its maybe around £17

    Hope that helps

    Cheers

    Gary

  6. We Have recently booked so we will be on board also.

This will be our First ever Transatlantic voyage. So really looking forward to it.

We did a taster cruise on the QM2 on the 12 th December last year. We fell in love with the ship, so we just had to book this QM2 Voyage

We are Gary & Stefan from York UK

    Cheers

  7. The Flow rider does have set times its open.

It also has times when its Boogie Boarding and Stand up Surfing at different times.

Just Sign your Waivers and you will get a wrist band at their Sign up stand, and then you will be able to join the Line when you like.

I think you can also book some 1 to 1 time with an instructor too.

You will have a great time on the Flowrider

  8. Our Promo B Was for the SimplyLOW Promotion booking think it took off approx £250 PP

BUT beware if you wanted to change your Cabin to a different grade, as they will take the Simply LOW promotion off you!!

  9. Jane your cruise reviews always put smiles on our faces!

We NEED to cruise with you guys again sometime! Those New Years Eve pics brought happy Memories back! ;)

NOW one thing that I think is missing from this cruise in review!!! Where are your infamous Toes!!!!:eek:

Both You and John are looking great, retirement and cruising suits you both!

    Cheers

    Gary

  10. We too were on the 3 day cruise to The Christmas Markets

Having done a Mini Cruise on the Royal Caribbean Adventure of the seas last year we knew that it would not be a true reflection of Cunard. If my only experience of Royal Caribbean was based on that Mini Cruise I probably would have never sailed with them again! We came across many people who were put off cruising for life!!

As for the Cunard cruise, we had a really good mini cruise, Good service and good food in the Britannia. Chart room and Pub always struggled to find a seat (Never got one), Sir Samuels great place for a quick Sandwich in the afternoon. I think sometimes the problem is that Cunard bang on about the "White Star" Service which is good, but you can get just as good on many other ships we have been on.

Although the QM2 Ship design and interior is in a class of it own.

As others have said try a longer cruise before removing Cunard for your cruising list

    Cheers

    Gary

  11. Sunset Catamaran Champagne Cruise

This tours was offered by Royal Caribbean for our cruise on 3rd of November, but just checked what is on offer in Nassau and it seems to have been taking off the list of excursions.

Does anyone know if this is still running?

Is it available to book privately now that its not available on Royal site?

I guess it may of course be Full and thats why Royal has removed it.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

    Many Thanks

    Gary

  12. We was on the Granduer in August 2012 shortly after its refurb.

Water and foul smelling gunge came up through the vents in the floor of the bathroom.

The cabin Steward soon cleaned it up, and we think that the system cant cope when people empty their Baths in Junior Suites or higher.

Also a lot the public restrooms were not working for about a day near Giovanni's

I would have hoped that the systems would have settled down by now, but it looks like the situation could be getting worse!
