We are new to NCL, from what I have read causal is fine for both men and women. I did ask about a Formal night, what i got is "it's your choice" ok what does that mean?
We can if we want too, is there a designated time and night for it? Are we mixed in with people who dressed casual?
I have read that we can bring on water being it is not included in BP, can we bring a case each person?
Thanks
KMHNY
What your choice means that you can certainly dress up on Norwegian Night Out, or you can go casual. You'll see all types, however on NCL the trend is to be more casual than formal, so if you dress up to the nines you may find yourself in the minority. You can get pictures made that night if you are into it.
Yes you can bring as much water as you can carry. We just bring refillable sports bottle for each person as the ships water is just fine.

First time on the Dawn. Are there adult only pool areas? I know that there are hot tubs that are marked adult only, but nobody polices them much. I love kids, but sometimes I like to find someplace to just kick back on the deck with a book and a cocktail and not have the a bunch of kids running around.
Also we are sailing with a couple of (step) teenagers. Neither are into the clubs for very different reasons. When they were younger, yes, now not so much. I know that there will be activities all during the day, but what specifically can I entice them with? Do they have a place to watch movies other than the cabin (we will be in an SJ)? Sports deck etc? Any tips for keeping them entertained (or at least what I can tell them) would be appreciated.

Thanks everyone..appreciate the feedback!

We are booked in one of the family suites without a balcony (12510) on the Dawn. It looks like, according to the deck map, that it is slightly underneath Bimini Bar and Grill and or a walkway. The map is a bit confusing. Has anyone sailed on deck 12 in that area and how noisy does it get?

We were on the DCL Fantasy in January and we had the invisible stateroom person. Never saw him until the second day. I really didn't mind though he kept the room in good shape, got our dailies etc. It did seem strange though that usually we see them in the halls during the early evening or during the day. Never saw any attendants hardly ever.
Years back on the POA we had an awful SA. She was rude and constantly complained about everything (we were in a suite). I got the Hotel Director on the phone and had her bounced from our cabin. Everytime we passed her in the hallway she give me the stinkeye. But, the person they replaced her with was phenomenal, and camped outside our door and came in and straightened the cabin EVERY time we left. It was creepy after a while.

Just curious about this..any of you that have sailed recently seeing an increase of intoxicated people that may have over indulged on the UBP? We always see a couple of folks that have gone over the limit, but with a free booze offering has it increased? Don't really want to sail on a week long booze cruise this summer (I will be enjoying the UBP though). Again, just curious...

It looks like you're arriving back on the Dawn on June 19. For June 19-21 I'm seeing some excellent possibilities for you on Hotwire right now. Don't delay - make a decision! Any 4* plus hotel in Boston is going to be very very nice.
1). Waterfront area - 4* for $175 + tax -100% approval. Best guess - the Seaport
2). Waterfront area - 4.5* for $186 + tax - Best Guess - the Westin Waterfront
3). Copley Square area - 4.5* for $180 + tax - no guess on this one
As I suggested, leave your car parked at the port. Drop off your cruise luggage at the car and pick up your Boston 2 day bag. With less luggage, the T can be your friend.
In the snow last week I hotwired a Copley hotel and got the Sheraton. The sign out front listed $51 for parking, so if you must move your car, be prepared to pay big bucks.
Nice tips, thanks a ton! Exactly what I was looking for.

Will be in Boston late June, with a car. Would like to get a rec on a good hotel for post cruise sight seeing.

Our cruise boat docks in on a Sunday, given the limited transportation, and sight seeing options on that day, I was thinking about booking the ships transfer to Horseshoe beach. It falls in line price wise with the Blue Flag transports, but we would be assured of getting back on board with minimum hassles. I don't want to get stuck at the beach on a late Sunday afternoon trying to get back to the ship.
Thoughts?

I did what Deb said and email the tourist board. Got a whole envelope of maps, and guides. Everything you need to tour Bermuda. (and it was free)

I haven't been able to reach mine since I booked the cruise. Have emailed and called and got nothing back, no response at all. I will give him until Monday then I will start calling PCC supervisors as this is pretty lame.

Heck, I can't even get my PCC to return my emails. I've sent it to him 3 times since I booked my cruise and cannot get any response.

Just booked the Dawn to Bermuda this summer. Wife didn't want to do the BA (too big for her). I've got two teenaged girls and I know that the Dawn doesn't have all the bells and whistles as some of the larger ships, but what can I tell my kids that they can look forward too? Been on the NCL site, but really have a hard time find specifics. They aren't big on the kids/teen clubs either. They like cruising in general and we really like NCL as a product, but I have a small suspcision that they might have a hard time staying entertained while on board. Any insight would be helpful.

A couple of years back you could get a beverage plan that included specialty coffees. My wife was in heaven. We just booked on the Dawn and got the UBP, but it looks like it doesn't cover coffee? Also does the kids plan cover non-alcoholic drinks like smoothies and virgin coladas etc? It did before, but has that changed as well?

Formal dressing is very much in the minority on NCL. They do a Norwegian's Night Out, which is their version of "Formal Night" however, I don't see alot (some) formal dressing. The only thing they frown on is shorts in 1 of the MDR's and in some of their specialty restaurants. (Le Bistro on the ships we have been on).
