I am at last in the lounge in Newcastle airport waiting to fly out to Barbados for the Trans Atlantic cruise.
Some sun shine and heat will be great, the wind in Newcastle this morning is Baltic.

Printed my pass about 45 minutes ago with no problems.
You need to make sure that the code you use is a 7 digit code, not one with the / sign in it

Just checked the official port schedule again, and it is booked at Heritage Wharf on the 20/21 April.
A large American ship dock on the 21 April so Sunday will be quiet. It looks as if a Thomson Trip may be the only way to get about.
The Dream is 798 foot long and I think there is a limit of 720 feet for ships docking in Hamilton.

On Bermuda's port site it is shown as docking at heritage wharf and not in Hamilton itself.
So it looks like we will have to get a bus or ferry into Hamilton, not so great for an evening stroll around the town. -
The way I read it is, you print out your boarding cards yourself, then on the day of departure you only need to go to Thomson bag drop point.
There is no need for any other check in, you just go straight through security.
No day before drop off when going to the Caribbean and Thomson Dream.
I hope that is how it's done.

Do I care who pays them, what badge they have pinned to the branded shirts they have on. Not a jot as long as the service is good, but it is good to find out all about the ins and outs of the people working on the ships, as well as the positions they hold..
Like most of the good people on the forum I do like to hear and read all the gossip and thoughts of others.
All that has been posted on this thread is great, it helps to keep the forum alive, and generate more interest in cruising.

The booking section is open for the Barbados flight on the 13 April.
I booked this morning and have F3 G3 on the Newcastle flight.

I hope the standard of the food on the trans Atlantic was just a glitch.
On April I fly out of Newcastle for the start of the West bound trans Atlantic,
21days so the food will, and the variety of the menu will be well tested.
-
Yes looks a great menu, but when you get the dreaded phrase from the waiter as you order you main course " Sorry sir Pumkin is off the menu due to a greater demand than was anticipated"
What then ?

Thank you for the information, wait with bated breath.

I have booked for the transatlantic April 2014 with the Dream
The Azores is visited on this cruise.
Ponta Delgada and Horta are the ports.
The new ports will be a refreshing change from Madiera which I have visited a couple of times.
