The Le Bistro has foie gras. Nothing I would want.
I suspect that's why they justify the upcharge to the filet, but they should offer it without that.

Good point. It was promised at our booking but now I’m really wondering if the “such as” will be the loophole for the change.
"Such as" suggests a comparable replacement. Not sure Pommery Rose is.

I don’t see Moët listed anywhere. I don’t see any acceptable replacement for Veuve on the plus package- Rose isn’t going to cut it for me - I’ll be canceling the plus package and am very disappointed
You're right - it's not listed. However, it should be instead of the Rose. I'll have an open mind and try it when I sail in December. But I'm not happy with this change.

It may not be a popular opinion but we would rather pay a little more for our cruise than to have to deal with the cutbacks in the beverage, food, and entertainment departments. We love the ships and the general atmosphere, and the crew have always been above and beyond for us.
I don't mind upcharges for speciality items, but the extra charge for the filet in Le Bistro doesn't make sense because it's not that much more expensive than some of the other items. I did write in a comment card that I would rather pay more money for the wine tasting to get some better quality. The stuff they served earlier this month on the Gem tasted like swill off a grocery store shelf. The lobster bisque in Cagney's had zero lobster and my husband actually liked the tomato bisque in the MDR much better than that one. However, we both were surprised at how good the buffet was. There were always healthy choices available and something for everyone.

It is subjective, but I think Moet is better than Veuve as well.
To me, the Veuve is slightly creamier. But Moet would be an acceptable substitute if they don't have Veuve any more.

I prefer Perrier Jouet to Veuve but both are completely acceptable.
Never tried Jouet, but it must be delicious if you like it better than Veuve.

I had several iced mochas from Starbucks on Breakaway in early March. No charge.
Thanks, RocketMan! Let's hope they don't do any more drastic changes before our December cruise.

Crown is back down to regular beverage package level. Last 2 trips it was on the upgraded package. Didn't think I'd see anything move back down to lower tier.
Oh wow! They threw us a bone then. Good catch!

Not the first time they tried to exclude goose
“A spokesperson for Norwegian told Cruise Critic it recently reversed a decision to exclude Grey Goose and Grand Marnier from the Ultimate Beverage Package.”
They tried this back in 2019 and either got backlash about it and reversed course or fixed what ever supply chain issues they had with the brand.
Maybe if we all call to complain they will reverse course or provide suitable replacements so we don't feel cheated.

Yeah, I drank my weight in Enigma and Hennessy XO on the escape three weeks ago. At $50 per drink, my first double of the day more than paid for the cost of the upgrade for the day
Yes, that's a very valid point. I'll get hubby to try the other pricey brands as well to make up my perceived loss. I might develop a taste for the Pommery Rose after all too.

If this remains in place, I'll probably remove my FAS+ package. I do like Pellegrino and Starbucks but I don't drink quite enough of those to make the upgrade worthwhile, so if both Moet and Veuve are gone, I'll revert to the basic package and purchase the Internet package alone.
What got me was that while chatting with the agent, the only option given to me was to possibly call in and cancel the upgrade. Why would they rather lose all that money rather than trying to accommodate upset passengers?

I don't get the almost cult-like devotion to Veuve.
LOL! The Clicquot Cult has a ring to it.

And I find the plus options drinkable and the standard options pretty bad (just for wine, other stuff is fine) for my taste.

Earlier this month we attended a wine tasting on the Gem to Bermuda and it was all bad. Think supermarket wines -- that bad. The event itself was fun and we had a good time, but I was shocked they would include those in a tasting.

As far as I can see the coffee hasn't changed at all. It has always said Starbucks.
Thanks! I went back to double check the lists and they are the same. The advertisement for the package though had indicated "All Starbucks coffee and specialty drinks."

Ok, I'm not seeing Miller Lite on this package. Houston, we have a problem here. 🤬
That just reminded me to check beers for hubby. He still has some that he likes on the new list, but his favorite tequila, Patron Reposado, is no longer listed 😡. I feel for you Miller Lite fans because Bud Light is not comparable.

I'm bummed as we were going to upgrade our Free at Sea package because of the Veuve and the Starbucks. We don't travel until October.
Looks like only the coffee from Starbucks is included now. I wonder if that includes cappuccinos and lattes, but probably just means regular brewed.

Just checked in with our travel agent (so happy to have one!) and he told me that based on a discussion with NCL last week, "regular" Veuve is still included by the glass, but Veuve Rose is only available at Le Bistro while having dinner.
I hope this is the case, but an NCL agent told me last night that Veuve is no longer included. And the Rose is Pommery, not Veuve.

Can't you still bring your own wine onboard? (And there's no corkage fee if you have the standard UBP). Not the same as them pouring it for you, I know, but you can still bring your own Veuve and drink it while on the ship. Better than nothing, and likely cheaper, too!
I didn't know the corkage fee was waived for the package. That's definitely a good idea! We usually pre-order Veuve so we can drink it from the balcony during sail away. First time getting the package, so it makes more sense to take our own now.

I don't see the Inniskillin ice wine on the new flyer either. The package is still worth it to me, but no Veuve and no Inniskillin is definitely a disappointment.
Oh man! You're right! I forgot about the ice wine.

That's from 9/22. The new one is 4/23 and here is the pdf I downloaded last night from NCL's website.

No More Veuve, No More Grey Goose
in Norwegian Cruise Line
Posted
So lucky! Hope you have a wonderful cruise. If you get a chance, let us know the situation. Though I don't go until December, and it will probably change multiple times before then.
