  1. I entered my independent flight information (southwest) and got conformation on the direct flight to my destination but got an error on my southwest flight back home. The trip home had a connection so 2 legs. Just went in and changed my destination to the connection airport and it comes up as no errors... Guess the two legs or connecting flights gives the system a headache :classic_biggrin: ...

  2. The "Champagne Catamaran Sail & Snorkel" has always been one of our favorite things to do in St. Thomas! (y)

I often see this tour come up as a favorite on Cruise Critic... we will also be visiting St Thomas this coming Feb and are looking for something different to try (we have been there multiple times)

So I went to the Princess Excursions to read about this but it looks like they might have some contradictory descriptions. Can anyone confirm if this excursion goes to Honeymoon beach in St Johns, or Honeymoon beach on water island?

In Part from Princess excursion description:

ST. JOHN CHAMPAGNE CATAMARAN SAIL, SNORKEL & BEACH

    Honeymoon Beach

Rated by National Geographic magazine as among the most beautiful beaches in the world. Fall in love with Honeymoon Beach, a stretch of powder-white sand on Water Island, within the Virgin Islands National Park. With crystal-clear, shallow waters and swaying coconut palms, it fulfills the fantasy of a true island oasis and is a popular spot for swimming and snorkeling.

  3. My wife and I were recently in Barcelona and stumbled on this place:

    https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g187497-d10242938-Reviews-Beer_linale-Barcelona_Catalonia.html

It is located right off La Ramblas, they had a nice selection of beers on tap.

I believe my wife had an Amber from Madred, and I tried a sour from Catalonia.

nice break from all the great regional wines and cavas...

    Enjoy your visit

  4. You talk about a beach. What we've done is take the ferry to St. George in the a.m. and go to Tobacco Beach. Then walk back into town from the beach, take the bus to Crystal Caves and Swizzle is just around the corner. Then we've taken the bus either back to Hamilton then the ferry or the bus all the way back.

this is exactly what we did, all do-able in a day.... it was a couple of years ago when we went but at that time we got a 2 day transportation pass, good for both bus and ferry. Had excellent Wahoo nuggets on the beach, hit the caves and split a 1/2 picture of rum swizzles at the swizzle inn... as others have said, they are near each other (walking distance) and there is a bus stop across the street from swizzles.

    Enjoy

  5. There is no way to "predict" the weather... but I can say we had wonderful weather for the MED cruise we took this year, last week of May - First week of June. I would not hesitate to take another cruise during this time frame.

Crowds were minimal ... some of the "Big" sites such as the Colosseum in Rome still had large crowds. I cannot imagine how crowded it can get in the prime season!

Enjoy your cruise and cruise planning...

  6. On our back to back (2 - 7 day cruises) we had to disembark from the ship but were allowed right back on. Our room did not change and we used this time to use the guest laundry room to catch up on clean clothes.

One thing i remember as being "strange" in a way was attended some of the same shows we had watched the first time around. The Cruise director told the same stories and jokes... we could finish the lines before he finished them. It was kind of like being in that movie "Groundhog Day". It was not really annoying but gave a new perspective to the cruise... the new people were laughing and the people who have been there before saw the "presentation" or scripted act....

regardless you will have a great time!!! enjoy!!

  7. For us, we have done the Southern Caribbean multiple times. Every other year we travel with family members and for various reasons we are limited to home port, time of year and cruise company. So... this severely limits our choices. The "family" cruise is more about relaxing and having fun with the family and friends.

However in my opinion, the ports are getting "old" and I would like to see new things or places. It is a challenge to find different things to do.

That said, fortunately my wife and I have been able to go to new places on the "off" year. Places that would not be possible while traveling with family.

  8. My wife and I were on the cruise before this one. Towards the end of the cruise I was talking with one of the bartenders and he said that a group charter was coming on board.

I asked if he new who the group was but he did not say, only that it will be crazy busy for 5 days. He did not seem like he was looking forward to this. It looked like there was a lot of activity restocking the bars towards the end of our cruise.

Glad I missed that one! I feel for the crew that have to put up with this stuff!

  9. That would be great!!! Have fun!

    Balconette:

As others have said you should have a clear view. We were in room 7092 and this first photo is looking straight down as the pilot boards the ship (the door was directly below our balcony)

The next shot is looking towards 7094. directly below 7094 will be open like our 7092. The lifeboat seen in the photo is around the 7096 balcony location.

I hope this helps. Enjoy your cruise!!

  10. We just returned from our MED cruise and we flew Norwegian over and back. As stated above, our flight was from EWR to BCN direct. I had saved some CC points and upgraded to Premium seating so my comments are based on this option. With premium seating you have access to the lounge area prior to your flight. Seating here was comfortable and food, beer, wine, liquor and other beverages were included.

The cabin seats were very roomy with plenty of leg room. They tipped back quite far and had extendable foot rests to aid in sleep. Blankets and ear buds were provided. 2 meals were served with a variety of included beverages. After your main meal Baileys and or Cognac were offered.

Movies could be viewed on a screen that stowed in the arm rest of your seat when not in use.

Over all we thought the flight and service were nice. Norwegian air does not service our local airport so it would need to be a "special" trip to justify the 3.5 hour drive to the EWR. Based on this trip I would fly Norwegian again.

  11. We are also flying with them in 1 week.... EWR to BCN direct flight.... this will be the first time we have flown with Norwegian air. I often have a hard time sleeping on long hall flights. This time I saved some CC points and used them to upgrade to Premium seats. Hope this helps . I will try to post my thoughts when we get back...

  12. Beagleluv6107,

looking forward to the rest of your review... We also did this trip to celebrate our 10th anniversary. (we actually went on our ninth but called it close enough)

We flew out of JFK direct on Hawaiian airlines... i remember it was a long trip!

After we landed and took a taxi to our hotel we were also bone tired.

We went to dukes and had a mai tai... just had to do it.... I'm surprised we did not just fall asleep in our glass...

but the excitement gave us enough energy to keep us up.

we had an awesome time ... something we will always remember and talk about... your review is making me think about the trip all over. :)

  13. My wife and I are heading over to Europe to enjoy our cruise in a couple of weeks. I have a no fee CC and will use it at ATM as needed. However I also wanted some Euros to get us started. I went to my local AAA this afternoon and ordered some Euros... Rate was 1.2623 with no fees or postage (i'm a member so not sure if that helped) ... so every 100 euros cost me 126.23... rate is not as favorable as an EU ATM but a good option.

  14. Steelers0854:

    Thanks for your review....

we are also long time Princess cruisers but will be taking our 2'nd RCI cruise in a few weeks.

You mentioned "We have never eaten at Sabatini’s but Giovanni’s had one of the best meals of my cruising life." Do you remember what you had?.... We will most likely be going to one or 2 specialty restaurants on our cruise. We have always enjoyed Crown and Sabatini's and look forward to Chops and Giovanni's.

    Thanks

  15. Our Med. cruise is not until the end of May. I have filled out the online check in, printed out boarding documents and see they show a "sample" luggage tag at the bottom of the form. It says please use official luggage tags on your bags. I do not see anywhere that I can print them.

Is this something that will become available closer to the sail date? or am i missing something?

    Thanks

  16. We were making the luggage drop in Port Everglades once when we were traveling with family. My brother in-law (who was driving our van) said to me you take care of the luggage and I'll take care of the tip.

We dropped the luggage with the porter and started to walk away.... the porter yelled to us and said what about a tip and acted like we were stealing from him. Turns out in the busyness and confusion my brother in-law forgot to tip him and also drove away.

It was an honest mistake or miscommunication but I tipped the porter and we went on our way.

We always tip the porters and will continue to do so but we felt odd about the situation (at least until we were on the ship and all cares were soon forgotten :D)

  17. Thanks for the heads up on the share holder benefit submission time line change. I remember in the past you had to wait until very close to the sail date.

Submitted mine via fax this morning and wallah, it is there this afternoon. (sail date Feb 2019)

    Much appreciated

  18. Indian, Thai, fondue, pho/ramen/noodle bowls, African (Moroccan or Ethiopian would be cool!), poke/Hawaiian, German

I know... this is the Royal board but this made me think of our recent Regal Princess cruise. a couple of times a week they had a "make your own" noodle bowl section in the Horizon court. You picked up a bowl and selected the ingredients you wanted, told the cook what kind of meat you would like (can be a combo) and the type of broth you desired and then they would prepare it for you. This was actually quite tasty and enjoyable.

My wife is not a big fan of curries so I always sample the Indian foods. Being a foodie, I will try most things (which is one of the things I enjoy the most about a cruise buffet)
