Yes, the horror. Folks have died from those things, or at least lost their sanity. The humanities!!!! 🤣
So let me ask you the. You waited until after 4:30 to enter your cabin. You find hair, toenail clippings, and grease and food smears about your cabin. Are you ok with that?

A toenail, the horror. Definitely warrants withholding tips from every staff member on board. Wow.
Let me ask you this. Crumbs, hair, toenails on your bare feet while walking in your cabin. A handicap bar falling on your body, What would you do? Genuinely curious

Found a lovely toenail clipping in my room which proves that the room was not cleaned thoroughly. The internet sucks on the ship and won’t let me upload said picture of toenails, but I can assure you it’s there. I complained to guest services and will probably be removing my gratuities in the first of 60+ cruises unless these problems are rectified

And the response is "no one if forcing us to cruise on these ships. 🤷♂️
Exactly-which is why I’ll most likely be taking my cruise dollars elsewhere

Pay more for daily services
Less staff; more guests
Raking in money
But the services aren't done in a timely manner
Needs to be a bit more of a balance in there
Guests allow company to get away with it by being "understanding"
No one says you need to be mean about it, or get upset with the front line worker that doesn't make the decisions
But stop giving cruise lines free passes to continue reducing service levels and standards. 3:30-4:30 for rooms to be available is pretty late, in my opinion.
If you keep allowing this, 4PM will become standard and you can pay an additional fee for 1 or 2pm. Watch and see...
Exactly! I’m not ripping off anyone’s head over this or anything. Just disappointed. Boarding was delayed 2 hours because the wifi went down on the ship and terminal and I just wanted to put my carry on in the room and rest after a very long travel day.
I get prices have gone up, but increasing gratuities and decreasing services is not cool. And my room could at least be clean if there was such a delay. Walking in bare feet on the carpet and there are large crumbs and hair stuck to my feet, so it wasn’t even vacuumed or mopped. 🤮 I don’t think that’s too much to ask. The excuse of at least we can cruise, and the poor staff are so over worked and blah blah is old and tiresome. No one is forcing anyone to work on these ships. I guess the answer is to take my business elsewhere. I love NCL overall and have been pretty loyal over the years, so once I use up my cruise next certs, I will make a decision to move on or not.

Embarked the Joy today in NYC and cabins were not ready until 4:30 - they made repeated announcements about this. I find this concerning. Yes, I know the stewards are stretched thin, but 4:30?? This just seems really late to me- worse than a hotel check in. If this a new industry standard, then it would be nice to know. BTW, my cabin was pretty grubby- smears of stuff on doors and gray hairs in bathroom and balcony (my hair is dark brown).

I’ve been very frustrated with the call center, too. I had to make a modification to the land portion of my Alaskan cruise tour which included cancelling an extra night in one of the lodges that I had booked. After reassuring me the changes had been made, my booking didn’t reflect it. I called and somehow got lucky and spoke to someone in the USA and they said it had never been cancelled!
I recently called in to cancel a different booking, and the man I spoke to could not understand the phonetic alphabet or English alphabet. I spent 40 min on the phone with him trying to spell my name and booking number and he still sent me someone eles’s cancellation email. All this while listening to chatter, laughter and kids/dogs barking. Very unprofessional and will make me think twice booking with Princess again.
I was able to get resolution with sending a direct message to Princess on Instagram - they handled it quickly

I’m on Majestic right now and the two puppies they brought on were sleeping the entire time. I think they said they were three weeks old (not sure). The handler explained they do this to socialize them and get used to crowds. I’m no dog expert, but I’m pretty sure the digas aren’t traumatized or abused. YMMV

We are on this sailing, too. Embarkation was very interesting. Glad to clear customs in Vancouver, but it was cumbersome checking in. We spent two days in Vancouver//Victoria and loved the beauty of the area. Had sone initial problems with our stateroom A/C not working, but hopefully fixed by now. Bar service overall has been very poor, but that’s my only complaint if I have one (getting passed over for men or groups).

I just took a trip back in time to the 1980s... Boy these bring back some memories! Funny thing is, that once the Nintendo came out, I quit playing video games altogether. We had the old Atari 2600 when I was a kid, but I grew out of playing games in my teens. I might play some here just for old times sake at some point...
Are these free?

I was asking the same thing myself when I walked in the room... They're selling them down in the lobby. Maybe I should steal this one for the three hundred bucks they charged me for this tiny room...
That thing is creepy and would be at the bottom of the closet. I hate dolls!

We are doing the 4 day on your own tour and I did book a few excursions through Princess. Other plans are to just do some hikes and figure it out as we go. Maybe Uber to sone local restaurants
-
I also recommend picking 2-3 islands and spend your time there. Was booked on POA in 2021 but we all know what happened with that. We had 15 days and decided to still go and do a land tour-spent a week in Maui and 8 days in Oahu and LOVED our time there. I’ve now done another 2 week trip to Kauai/Oahu/BI and just recently a week trip to Maui- I love it that much! You really get a more in-depth feeling for each island and what it has to offer,

I don’t see Moët listed anywhere. I don’t see any acceptable replacement for Veuve on the plus package- Rose isn’t going to cut it for me - I’ll be canceling the plus package and am very disappointed

If "doing your own thing" is what you desire, I'd suggest canceling the Princess tour and using a rental car to do your own great trip.
The McKinley Princess Lodge is just a spot for Princess to park their people at overnight. Its in a scenic location with very limited activities. Most activities require another hour long bus ride back into Talkeetna.
And is there something specific you were looking to do in Fairbanks?
I can’t cancel the land tour because I’m past final payment…plus I’m only traveling with my teen son and don’t care to do hours of driving myself. I booked an independent flight/tour of the Arctic Circle in Fairbanks. Was going to stay an extra day and check out the hot springs via Turo rental car, but had to cut the trip short for obligations at home. There is a rafting trip that looks fun from the McKinley lodge, but it’s through Princess. May just keep things simple and book through them.

Hi- we are booked on a 4-day post cruise land tour ‘on our own’ which basically means we get transportation and hotels with the other Princess guests on the guided tour. I’m looking through the excursions and wondering if there are local places to book rafting/boating/mountain biking, etc. I did book an ATV tour through Princess, but my son and I are fairly adventurous and would like to do our own thing if possible. We are going to Mt McKinley, Denali and Fairbanks (already booked my own Arctic Circle flight). Thank you

So it’s my fault for waking barefoot in my cabin? I beg to differ! What about reaching for TP and having a handicap bar fall on your body? Is that ok or am I overactive? The poor workers?
